In 2080, in the futuristic city of Neo-LA. A 28yr old man by the name of John Vangoe works as a deliveryman for Mr. Kageyama's DEAD MEAT resturant. John had been working for this resturant ever since he was a kid. John grew up as an orphan and had no place to stay or eat food. He used to wonder the streets to find food to survive and a safe place to sleep. No one had ever tried helping him, instead he got ignored or straight up got beaten up. He lived a miserable life and had been missing his monthly upgrades. This led to his chip starting to overide, risking him becoming a GLITCH.
John was at the brink of becoming whats known as a GLITCH. A glitch is a mindless cyber beast or, more like a cyber zombie. Glitches were once humans who missed their chip upgrades or overloaded on cybernetic implants. Chips and cybernetic implants or chromes are mandatory for everyone in the world to survive. This is because all the resources needed to survive in life such as food, shelter, jobs, education and even relationships are bound to the chips and chromes and you cannot live without it. Just like smartphones, chips also require monthly upgrades. This is because the big corporations like D.L.A [ DIGITAL LIFE AUGMENTAION ] and O.L.A [ OPEN LABS AI] shuts down the servers hosting outdated and old chips and force everyone to buy upgrades r else become a glitch and get killed by the glitch exterminators.
John had missed his upgrades for several months and had started to get the symptoms of a glitch. One day while dumpster diving looking for food behind a resturant, John suddenly had a head splitting severe headache. This caused him to scream and whail in pain. He had been having mild headaches lately cuz the chip was frying his brain but none of the headaches were as severe as the one he was experiancing. John screamed in pain untill the owner of the resturant Mr. Kageyama came running outside to check what was happening. Upon seeing John screaming in excruciating pain, Mr. Kageyama rushed to help him. He examined the boy and immediatly realized that John had missed his upgrades and was turning into a glitch. He immediatly rushed him to the clinic to upgrade John's chip. Upon arriving at the clinic, he payed all the money needed to upgrade John's chip. After few hours of waiting, the doc came out and informed Mr. Kageyama that John was saved. He felt happy saving a little kid from becoming a cyber zombie. Doc informed Kageyama that John needs to stay at the clinic for few days so he can recover. Mr. Kageyama accept it and left the clinic and came back after few days later.On the day John was discharged from the clinic, he met Mr. Kageyama for the first time and thanked him for saving his life. John was thankfull that he asked what he can do to repay to which Kageyama replied with '' You shall become my son''. It was stranged but John didnt care as he realized that this stranger will give food and shelter. Ever since then, John worked for Mr. Kageyama and had been looking up to him as a role model.
