In another life, she was content. Her evenings were spent watching the golden dusk turn into a sky of dazzling borealis aurora.
Aria hummed as the wind rocked her hammock. Utterly relaxed, Aria sighed as she popped another cold blueberry into her mouth.
"Ahh ... .this is life…" The wine from earlier was making her heady but she felt like reaching for one more bottle in her basket.
Here, under the tree staring at the vast, serene colorful golden field before her, her heart overflowed with contentment.
Amongst the grasses, came a short bark.
"Rocco!"
A silver furry puppy bounded out of the grass, barking excitedly all around Aria.
"Who's a good girl?"
Bark! Bark!
"Aw…who's a good–"
"Lady Aria!"
Aria's eyes snapped open back to her stark reality.
"Lady Aria!" Her door pounded again and she sucked in her teeth.
Who was the dolt banging her door?
She rose, disoriented and weak, feeling her body ache all over from lying on the floor.
