Chapter 22 - Chapter 20

"Lightning!" Satoru once again used the power of the Goro Goro no Mi, instantly incinerating another cultist and, naturally, earning quite a few points for it.

The followers of the Evil God exchanged glances, not daring to approach. However, egged on by their leader, they finally charged at the young ninja.

Seeing the fanatics rushing at him, unafraid of death, the transmigrator wasn't the least bit alarmed and merely said calmly:

"Finally, you're here. I was just waiting for you!"

"Goro Goro no Mi!" the boy mentally called upon his Devil Fruit. His body was immediately illuminated by a bright blue light, and the air around him tingled with static electricity.

"Thirty Million Volts: Thunder Beast!" Unlike Enel, the system possessor didn't beat the drums on his back; he created this powerful technique with the sheer power of his mind.

At the appearance of the Thunder Beast, the cultists around instantly panicked. They knew full well that those turned to ash by lightning couldn't be resurrected. But to their misfortune, the Satoru standing before them was precisely that terrifying opponent capable of such a feat.

*Boom! Rumble!*

Although the fanatics no longer dared to attack the wielder of lightning powers, he himself decided to take the initiative. After all, for the transmigrator, these people were walking, visible-to-the-naked-eye points for the System!

"R-r-ry!" The Thunder Beast, originally composed of pure lightning, took on an almost physical form under the boy's will. It charged at the surrounding cultists, destroying one after another who crossed its path.

The transmigrator's heart rejoiced ever more, as he had just earned enough points for another lottery spin.

"Th-this... this is a genin from your Konoha?.. How can a fighter with such power be a genin?!" Even the leader of the Jashin Cult, who was currently battling Konoha's White Fang and was just about to use his body as a follower of the Evil God, was stunned. He hadn't even had time to blink before all his subordinates turned into handfuls of ash.

At that moment, Sakumo was also extremely puzzled. Because of his fight with the cult leader, he hadn't had time to keep an eye on what was happening on Satoru's side. The Konoha jonin believed his student wouldn't fall to these fanatics.

However, the White Fang had only believed the reincarnator wouldn't be defeated. He couldn't have imagined the boy would simply incinerate all these cultists!

Minato was already completely stunned. He knew his friend could work miracles, but he still couldn't fully believe that Satoru's power had reached such unimaginable heights.

Meanwhile, Satoru recalled the Thunder Beast, and his gaze focused on the leader of the Jashin Cult. He looked at him like a starving man who had suddenly spotted a delicious cake.

"Y-you... who the hell are you?!" the cult leader was genuinely alarmed. He was immortal! But at the same time, if he was turned to dust and coal, he couldn't resurrect!

However, this leader quickly pulled a small vial of blood from inside his robe, clearly intending to drink its contents.

"This... Yoshime's blood?" Satoru immediately realized things were bad!

Without using Hiraishin, the boy instantly appeared beside the cult leader. He instinctively unleashed the lightning from his body—a discharge of several tens of millions of volts instantly paralyzed the opponent, and the blood in his hand evaporated under the electric heat.

"Flying Thunder God Technique?! But I remember, this move requires marking the target first, and Satoru doesn't seem to have touched him," Minato analyzed, becoming more and more convinced that his comrade was one big enigma impossible to unravel.

At that moment, Hatake also plunged into a sea of bewilderment.

In truth, even Satoru himself couldn't understand how it had happened. He had simply instinctively lunged forward, wanting to stop the enemy, and somehow ended up right next to him, as if his movement speed had surpassed even Hiraishin!

"Y-you... you won't kill me! I'm the most faithful follower of Lord Jashin! You can never kill me!! Ha-ha! Let me go, and I'll tell you one secret! Kill me—and you'll become the eternal enemy of our Jashin Cult!"

This leader looked fairly young. Satoru initially didn't want to kill him, assuming the so-called Jashin Cult might have even grander sinister plans.

But that didn't concern him much. Destroying this leader would give him points. And with points, he could keep getting stronger in all sorts of ways. So what did it matter what they were plotting?

Moreover, the transmigrator had already wiped out so many Jashin Cult followers that he'd made himself a mortal enemy of the organization anyway. So there was no point worrying.

"Your secret doesn't interest me at all, because your sole purpose is to turn into a pile of points!" With those words, Satoru unleashed another discharge from his Goro Goro no Mi.

"A-a-ah! You'll die a painful death!"

And this follower of the Evil God was immediately obliterated by Satoru.

"Satoru, are you okay?" Konoha's White Fang asked caringly.

"I'm fine, Teacher. And you?" the boy inquired.

"I'm your teacher, after all," Hatake smiled faintly, then looked at Yoshime and added, "Yoshime is still unconscious. So let's stay in the Land of Hot Springs for a few days to recover a bit. I'll report to the Third myself."

Since ninjas had to return to the village and report after a mission, Sakumo, following protocol, had to brief on the situation.

"Satoru, you hid your abilities excellently. If not for today, I never would have known you were concealing such a powerful Lightning Release!" the experienced shinobi said with admiration. "Your power is great, but you still have huge room for growth. After this mission, the Third Hokage and I will properly train you! Consider it your reward!" Hatake was rarely this joyful.

Namikaze watched with open envy.

Satoru patted the golden-haired genius on the shoulder and assured him:

"Jiraiya-sama is also an outstanding ninja; he'll definitely train you. And if not, I'll go complain to the Third."

"Ha-ha!" Minato smiled faintly, realizing his friend was joking.

After such events, everyone hurried back to the inn to rest.

And Satoru was incredibly excited at that moment. He couldn't have imagined that the trip to the Land of Hot Springs would earn him enough points for two lotteries!

"System, System! Come out quick! I want to spin the lottery! Lottery!" Satoru immediately called to the System.

[Master, hello. Two lottery draws detected. Would you like to use them?]

"Let's do two right away!"

[Alright! Ding-ding-ding! Congratulations, Master! You won Sage's Cloak!]

[Ding-ding-ding! Congratulations! You won the one-time ability "Turning the Useless into Treasure"!]

Satoru immediately asked:

"What's 'Sage's Cloak'? And what's this 'Turning the Useless into Treasure' ability? By the way, wasn't the lottery before like this: out of five options, two were excluded, then one was randomly picked from the remaining three? Why did the mechanism change this time?"

[Master, hello. The lottery method is chosen randomly. You randomly get one of the two available lottery types. Items in the lottery are also random.]
