Ace's Point of View
I took a sip of my coffee, noticing my hands trembling as I held the cup. I wasn't
afraid of what had just happened to me earlier, but of the fact that we were facing
something new, something unknown. What was coming next was terrifying.
"Do you know anyone who might be angry at you?" Matt asked.
Earlier, when I was trapped inside the tomb, Matt had arrived. He had apparently
followed my car after noticing me rushing, and he also had a bad feeling. He saw
the person who had locked me inside, but it was too dark to make out their faces
before they disappeared into the shadows.
I let out a heavy sigh. "I don't know ... I really don't," I admitted.
I had no idea who could have done this to us. All I could think about now was
whether it had something to do with that person named Hell on Facebook.
"What's your plan? I don't want anything to happen to my friend," Matt warned,
his tone serious.
"It's not in my plan to harm her," I said firmly.
We had already been through so much, and I had lost count of the sacrifices I'd
made, but I was ready to do more. I would not allow anything bad to happen to the
woman I loved.
Hut I had to admit, I was more afraid of this opponent than anyone we'd faced
before. We didn't know who it was. Unlike at Hell University, where we could plan
because we knew our enemies, this time, the unknown made everything more
dangerous.
The next events would be bloodier, unpredictable. Shit. This was no ordinary
prank
"You better just head home," he said, standing up and straightening his blazer.
"It's late, and someone might be worried about you." With that, he walked out of
the cafe.
I sighed, staring at Zein's phone in my hands. I walked past a trash can and tossed
it inside. I'd just buy her a new one.
Hack at the condo, a broom suddenly smacked me on the head.
"Aww."" I groaned at Zein, who was cluched in front of me.
I couldn't help laughing at her expression, it was like she had lost something
valuable.
"Where the hell have you been?"
I collapsed onto the sofa and raised an eyebrow "Somewhere," I said,
uninterested.
she grinned mischievously and went to smack me again, but I stopped her.
"Ouch .. sorry," I apologized.
"Sorry? Did you do something reckless?"
I swallowed hard. I had no intention of telling her everything that happened; 1
didn't want her to worry. As much as possible, this would remain a secret.
"I'm hungry." 1 held my stomach.
she sighed before motioning for me to follow her to the kitchen. I quickly sat
dowwn and grabbed some food; I was starving.
"Why are your clothes dirty?" she asked, looking at my white shirt.
I glanced down. It must have gotten dirty when I went into the tomb.
"Ah ... I tripped? Oh! Yes! I tripped," I explained.
"Then why's the dirt on the side? shouldn't it be in the front or back?"
Dead.
"I wanted it on the side ... so what?" I tried to make an excuse. "I'm full now .. " I was
about to get up when she tugged at my shirt.
she leaned forward, her face turning red.
"Why?"lasked.
She blushed even more, hiting her lower lip as if embarrassed.
"w-What ... uhmm ... I- mean-"
"What? Tell me," I said, turning to her and holding her arm to calm her.
"I-'m embarrassed ... but can you help me with my assignment?"
I chuckled softly as she suddenly ran off toward the living room.
I shook my head. "Why not? she's embarrassed," I muttered.
I caught up to her in the living room as she tidied her things and sat beside her.
"Where?" I asked.
she handed me her notebook, filled with calculus problems.
"I'm weak at math ... don't even tell me, I already admitted it," she said.
I just smiled at her. "It's fine if you're weak here, you're strong with me," i said,
making her look away shyly
My smile widened even more when I noticed her subtle grin. Hah. I won't let that
smile fade from your lips.
"But there's a catch," she said.
"Anything .. " I replied.
"A kiss will do."
"Deal"
- - -
Teaching this girl wasn't difficult, there was just one part she didn't understand,
which i explained. I was halfway through writing when I noticed she had fell asleep
beside me.
I set everything aside and scanned every angle of her face. She looked like an angel
asleep, but when awake, she was sassy, stubborn, and a little mischievous.
"You cheated .. you fell asleep on me," I whispered.
I tidied up our things and carefully carried Zein to her room, laying her gently on
the bed
"I'll claim your promise ... I gave her a quick kiss on the lips. "Good night, Queen. I
love you," I murmured.
I made sure all the windows were locked before turning off the lights and clusing
the door.
Once in my room, I opened my laptop before taking a shower. After showering
and changing into my baxers, I picked up the laptop and placed it on my lap.
I immediately opened my Facebook account. Notifications and messages were
nothing new, but I still checked them.
One message caught my attention, from someone I didn't know:
"Did you lke your adventure? It's cool, right? I want to play mare .. Let's play again."
Damn it.
I looked at the picture they sent. I was in a cemetery, holding a cellphone. It had
been edited to look like it was covered in blood.
I owered my gaze at the sender's profile.
Hell
Zein's Point of View
"Wow! You got a perfect score!" Vanessa praised.
I smirked a little. "Ace helped me review."
"At least I got a perfect score. You? A one? Ew."
she rolled her eyes. Honestly, I did way better. She only got a point because of the
bonus question. Without that? Zero.
"Let's go," I said.
The moment I stepped out the door, four familiar faces were waiting. "What are
you guys doing here?" I asked Matt, Jerome`, Dave, and Ace.
"I'm picking up my grandmother," Jerome said casually, glancing at Vanessa.
"Th! So the ancestor finally showed up," Vanessa shot back.
I laughed. They've always talked to each other like that. It sounds harsh, but that's
just how they joke around. What a weird dun.
"We're celebrating, right, Are?" Dave said, throwing an arm around Are's
shoulders. Ace just pouted.
I frowned. What are they up to now?
"Oh! Zein forgot," Jerome said dramatically as he slung an arm around Ace too.
"He forgot it's your annivّersary today"
My jaw dropped.
Oh my God.
It's our fourth anniversary
How did I forget something that important?
I forced an awkward smile at Ace. "H-Hf?"
They all burst out laughing.
Ace quickly grabbed my hand. "Forget everything else if you have to. Just don't
forget me."
I couldn't help but smile.
"So," Matt asked, "where are we going`?"
We're at a bar nearby.
Oh. Shit. I knew it was a bad idea to let Matt choose the place.
I watched Jerome and Matt on the dance floor. They weren't even drunk, but they
looked completely out of it.
Dave and Ace were sitting beside me, while Vanessa was loudly cheering for
Jerome, who was dancing like he had something to prove.
I glanced at Dave when I noticed he was glued to his phone.
"Something wrong?" 1 asked.
He frowned. "It's` Mia. She hasn't replied since yesterday."
"Maybe she's just busy?"
"They have midterms."
I smacked his arm after he said that. "Exactly! So stop being stupid!."
"But what if-" He froze when his phone lit up and Mia`s name flashed across the
screen
He practically jumped out of his seat, grinning like an idiot. I laughed as he
rushed outside to take the call, it was way too loud in here anyway.
I leaned back in my chair and turned to Ace, only to reliaze he was already looking
at me.
I don't know why, but there's something about his eyes that pulls me in.
The flashing lights from the dance floor reflected in them, making them
shimmer. He leaned closer, and I caught the faint scent of alcohol mixed with his
cologne.
His gaze dropped to my lips. He swallowed.
Our faces were inches apart, allmost close enough-
Then someone stepped right between us.
"Whoal This place is actually fun! Right, Dark?"
Damn it.
"Kuya2"
"Wow, seriously? Why didn't you invite me? If Matthew hadn't told me, I wouldn't
have even known."
I shot Matt a look, but he just laughed and disappeared into the crowd on the
dance floor.
"Hey!" I grabbed the cat perched on Raze`s shoulder. "Hoy!"
"What do you mean, 'Hoy?" Raze asked.
"That's his name."
He frowned. "Wait ... animals aren't allowed in here."
I said it so seriously that he burst out laughing.
"I told them it's my wife."
He laughed even harder, and I honestly didn't know whether to laugh with him or
just feel disturbed.
Ace's brother is on a different level. I can't tell if he's just naturally chaotle or
completely unhinged
"Were you two about to leis earlier?" he asked with a mischievous grin.
My face heated up instantly. Good thing the lights were dim. Who even asks that?
And isn't he aware that it's his fault we got interrupted in the first place?
"Kuya Can you please leave?" Ace snapped.
"Hey, you still owe me. You haven't visited the office lately. I'm drowning in work,
and I haven't even seen my baby"
I wonder what's golng on between him and Ate these days. I'm puetty sure she's
the "haby" he's talking about.
"I'll come by tomorrow," I sald.
"That's better." He took a long drink and stood up. The little creature, Hoy, jumped
back onto his shoulder. "Alright, I'm leaving, You can continue that interrupted
kiss now."
He laughed loudly.
"Just go already," Ace muttered.
"Nice lips, Zein," Raze added with a grin that made my jaw drop. "it like to taste
them again. Soon."
He walked away laughing, and I felt like my heart was about to explode.
Damn it, Raze Silvena What did you just start?
I turned my head to Ace, only to see his darkened face. I gulped my own saliva and
was just about to leave when he gripped my arms. I found myself sitting on hls
lap.
"He kissed you?"
I was about to say something when I felt him slip something around my neck.
I instinctively reached for it-a necklace. The pendant was a small queen's crown.
"Darling, happy anversary"
That was the last thing he said before walking away.
uh oh.
Darling's mad.
Damn it, Raze.
I'll get you back for this.
