Chapter 84 - Chapter Eighty Three: The Watchers Gather

The enormous shadow withdrew slowly from the borders of Hell.

Not in fear.

Not in defeat.

Simply… satisfied.

Its massive form dissolved gradually into the endless darkness beyond the infernal horizon until only the faintest ripple remained in the night sky.

The demons stationed at the border did not cheer.

They did not celebrate.

They simply stared into the distance with the quiet realization that something far older than their kingdom had just visited.

General Azael lowered the communication sigil slowly.

"My king," he said through the link, "the entity has retreated beyond the border."

On the balcony of Celestia's palace, Lucifer nodded once.

"As expected."

Lucien stretched his arms slightly.

"Well that was fun."

Celestia gave him a look.

"Fun?"

He shrugged.

"No one died."

Lucifer chuckled quietly.

"A very optimistic standard."

The Spirit Guide appeared again beside Celestia, its silver glow more stable now.

"The encounter was significant."

Lucien sighed.

"Everything lately is significant."

The Guide continued calmly.

"The First Ones rarely reveal themselves."

Celestia crossed her arms.

"Yet one came personally."

Lucifer leaned back against the railing.

"That tells us how unusual this situation is."

Lucien raised an eyebrow.

"You mean our kid is officially cosmic news now."

Lucifer nodded.

"Across every realm."

Celestia looked down at her abdomen again.

The warmth there pulsed gently—steady and alive.

For the first time since the Seraphim's visit, the movement felt… calm.

Almost curious.

Lucien noticed her expression.

"He's quiet again."

"Yes," she said softly.

Lucifer observed them both with interest.

"Fascinating."

Lucien glanced at him.

"What now?"

Lucifer's eyes gleamed faintly.

"The child is already interacting with ancient forces."

Celestia frowned slightly.

"He didn't do anything."

Lucifer smiled.

"Exactly."

Lucien groaned.

"You're going to make that sound mysterious, aren't you?"

Lucifer ignored the complaint.

"Powerful beings often react to each other instinctively."

The Spirit Guide nodded.

"The child's essence radiates Balance."

Lucien folded his arms.

"And Phoenix."

"Yes," the Guide agreed.

Lucifer looked toward the stars.

"That combination has not existed since the First Age."

Celestia lifted her head slightly.

"You said that before."

Lucifer nodded.

"And it remains true."

Before anyone could continue, the wind shifted again across the palace balcony.

But this time it was not heavy or threatening.

It felt… observant.

Lucien noticed first.

"Okay, something else is watching."

The Spirit Guide flickered slightly.

"Yes."

Lucien groaned.

"Please tell me it's not another giant shadow."

Lucifer chuckled.

"No."

Celestia closed her eyes briefly, focusing on the presence.

When she opened them again, she looked almost amused.

"It's smaller."

Lucien raised an eyebrow.

"That's reassuring."

A faint shimmer appeared in the air above the palace garden.

It was not a creature.

More like a ripple in reality.

Then another.

And another.

Small glowing distortions formed in the air like distant stars blinking into existence.

The Spirit Guide's voice softened.

"The watchers."

Lucien stared upward.

"You're telling me those little sparkles are ancient cosmic beings?"

Lucifer smiled faintly.

"Not all of them are ancient."

Celestia understood immediately.

"They're observing."

Lucifer nodded.

"Yes."

Lucien sighed dramatically.

"So now we're the most popular show in the universe."

One of the glowing distortions flickered brighter for a moment—almost like a curious blink.

Lucien pointed.

"Did that one just react to me?"

Lucifer laughed.

"It might have."

Celestia shook her head slightly.

"They're curious."

The Spirit Guide added calmly.

"They will not interfere."

Lucien looked skeptical.

"That's what the last ancient being said."

Lucifer straightened slightly and stepped closer to the railing.

"Curiosity is not always dangerous."

Lucien muttered.

"It's also not always safe."

Celestia looked at the glowing distortions scattered across the night sky.

"They're witnesses."

Lucifer nodded.

"Yes."

"To the beginning of something."

Lucien rubbed his temples again.

"Everyone keeps saying that too."

Celestia turned toward him with a small smile.

"That's because it's true."

Lucien looked down at her abdomen again.

"You know… for someone not even born yet…"

He paused.

"…he's causing a ridiculous amount of chaos."

Celestia laughed quietly.

Lucifer's eyes gleamed again.

"He may one day cause much more."

Lucien sighed.

"Wonderful."

Far beyond the palace—

beyond Hell—

beyond Heaven—

more and more faint distortions appeared across the cosmos.

Watchers.

Observers.

Ancient minds slowly turning their attention toward one small growing life.

Because for the first time in ages—

Balance had created an heir.

And the universe wanted to see what would happen next.

Back on the balcony, Celestia suddenly stiffened slightly.

Lucien noticed immediately.

"What is it?"

She looked down at her abdomen again, surprised.

"He moved."

Lucien blinked.

"Moved?"

She nodded slowly.

"Yes."

Lucien's eyes widened.

"That's new."

Lucifer watched carefully.

"Interesting."

Celestia smiled softly.

"He's reacting to the attention."

Lucien groaned.

"Oh great."

He looked up at the glowing watchers across the sky.

"Congratulations everyone."

He gestured dramatically.

"You just made the baby kick."

One of the glowing distortions pulsed again as if amused.

Lucifer chuckled.

"This child is going to be very… entertaining."

Celestia gently rested both hands over the growing warmth within her.

Her voice was quiet.

But confident.

"Let them watch."

Far across the universe—

countless unseen eyes continued to gather.

Waiting.

Because the heir of Balance had just taken his first movement.

And the future of the realms had begun to stir.
