Chapter 5 Fantasy
"Mew?!"
Ash looked at the pink cat floating in mid-air, a little surprised.
Mew put a paw to its mouth and curiously circled Ash a few times before slowly descending in front of him.
"You are very unique. I sense that you seem very familiar with me. Do you know me?"
Mew's voice echoed in Ash's mind.
Ash nodded, "Yes, yes, I've read some records about you. Oh, by the way, my name is Ash, and I'm from Pallet Town over there."
"The Aura power on Ash is very similar to the Aura Guardian I've seen. Do you want to become the current Aura Guardian?"
"Are you talking about this power?"
Ash once again condensed an Aura Sphere in his hand.
"That's right."
"Mew, although I really want to become a Aura Guardian, I'm not old enough to receive my first Pokémon yet, so..."
Ash feigned difficulty on the surface, but his small eyes subtly hinted for Mew to give him some benefits. After all, he was still a minor. Mew was asking him to work, which was like employing child labor. If Mew wanted him to comply... it wouldn't work without extra pay!
Mew listened, shook its head gently, and said, "It's okay, as long as you, Ash, are willing to be my messenger, I can wait for you~"
Mew had been wandering outside for so long, and this was the first time it had seen a human who could skillfully control Aura power at such a young age. It wouldn't let go of such a promising person.
Upon hearing this, Ash knew that if he kept pretending, he probably wouldn't get any benefits, so he spoke up, "Mew, I am willing to be your messenger, but since we have an employment relationship, shouldn't there be some kind of gesture?"
"Employment relationship? Gesture?" Mew looked at Ash in confusion.
"Hmm... you can understand it as a gift to show goodwill," Ash tactfully explained.
"Alright, in that case, I'll give you a small gift."
Mew placed a paw on Ash's forehead, its clear eyes shimmering with mysterious light, and then a seven-colored light lit up.
In an instant, Ash saw himself appear in a mysterious, colorful space, and then he felt a mysterious power surge into his body.
"Ding! Congratulations, Host, for receiving Mew's blessing and gaining Psychic power."
The system's voice echoed in Ash's mind.
Mew half-covered its mouth, concealing its inner joy, circled Ash a few times, and said, "Alright, Ash, from now on, you are my messenger. When you face an unsolvable crisis, you can silently chant 'Mew Super Cute Cute Cute' in your mind, and I will immediately appear to fight alongside you!"
Having received benefits, Ash was also content. He took out a bag of top-grade universal energy cubes from his system space and handed them to Mew, "Mew, I really like your gift. This is my return gift. Although it's not specially made, it should suit your taste. After you finish these, if you still want more, you can come to me anytime, and I can also make them according to your taste!"
To capture a Pokémon's heart, one must first conquer its stomach. This was the deepest lesson Ash learned at Professor Oak's Laboratory. Of course, that bag of energy cubes wasn't Ash's own; he took them from the lab to brib...Pooh, to defend himself with.
Mew took the energy cubes and slowly opened the bag. A scent of berries, fresh and rich with energy, wafted to its nose. It casually picked up a piece and put it in its mouth, instantly captivated. It had never tasted such delicious energy cubes.
"Delicious! Ash, these energy cubes you gave me are even better than any I've had before!"
As a qualified wanderer, Mew had roamed many places, and as energy cubes were specialized food for humans to better raise Pokémon, it had "mooched" many meals from others and tasted many different kinds of energy cubes.
Ash's lips curved into a faint smile, "As long as you like it!"
"By the way, Mew, you won't be leaving this forest so soon, right?"
"That's right, Ash, do you want to go play in the depths of the forest with me?"
"Although I'd love to, it's getting late, and I should head back, or Pokémon Doctor will start to worry.
It's like this, Mew, that ugly, charcoal-like person from earlier, he treats Pokémon as tools, and his character is extremely despicable. Most importantly, he even wants to lay hands on you Mythical or Legendary Pokémon. If you see him in the forest, I hope you will punish him severely. Also, please try to tell other Pokémon like yourself that if they ever see this human, they must not give him a chance to throw a Pokémon ball at them!"
Ash, relying on the goodwill he had just built with Mew, openly stirred up hatred against Goh, and he wasn't afraid of Mew seeing through his intentions. He believed that with Mew's ability, it could certainly see through a child's thoughts.
Furthermore, Goh was currently being targeted by wild Pokémon in a certain forest, so it was impossible for him not to harbor resentment. Ash was sure that as long as Mew encountered Goh, Goh's reputation in the Mythical and Legendary Pokémon world would be completely ruined.
Upon hearing this, Mew's playful demeanor instantly vanished. It responded with extreme seriousness, "So that child is such a person. No wonder he's being targeted by those Pokémon. But his ambition is actually so great, he's simply ignorant of the immensity of heaven and earth. Ash, don't worry, I will convey your words to my other friends. If I see him in the forest, I will definitely teach him a profound lesson!"
...
On the other side.
Koharu, who had been angered by Goh and left, now ran into Gary, who had also sneaked into the forest.
That's right, these two just ran into each other. More accurately, Koharu was running with her head down and bumped into Gary, who was observing wild Nidoran♀, causing him to fall flat on his face.
"Hiss~ That hurts!"
Gary groaned in pain, clutching the spot where he was hit.
Koharu also clutched her head, tears welling in her eyes, "My head hurts so much, it feels like I hit something."
"What do you mean 'hit something'? I'm a person, a living person! Koharu, what exactly are you doing?"
As descendants of the local Pokémon Doctor in the Kanto region, Gary and Koharu were the same age and had naturally met and known each other.
"Wuwu ꈨຶ ꎁ ꈨຶ"
It was fine when Gary didn't ask, but as soon as he did, Koharu burst into tears, which completely flustered Gary.
....
After bidding farewell to Mew, Ash once again used Aura to scout the surroundings. He had already filmed most of Goh's dark history, so there wasn't much point in continuing to follow him. It would be better to go find Serena, who had also run into the forest, and cultivate their relationship ꈍ ◡ ꈍ.
Soon, he sensed two special Auras: one belonging to a Pokémon, and the other to a human.
The human Aura naturally belonged to Serena. He had remembered her Aura the moment he first saw her. As for the Pokémon Aura, Ash wasn't sure exactly what it was, but that Aura gave him a very familiar feeling.
The two Auras were coincidentally on a straight line, so Ash was in a great mood because he didn't have to take a detour.
