Chapter 11 - 11: The Infamous Trio Arrives

The sudden announcement of a Jujutsu High exchange event drew a loud yawn from Gojo Satoru, his round sunglasses slipping down his nose.

"An exchange event? Who would be interested in something that boring?" he said with a bored stretch.

Masamichi Yaga's eye twitched as he replied seriously, "Take this seriously. This is a joint event between Tokyo Jujutsu High School and Kyoto Jujutsu High School."

Suguru Geto blinked. "Do we all have to go? Is the other school really that strong?"

Yaga's expression darkened. "Well… not exactly. It's not polite to say this, but Kyoto isn't that powerful. Any one of you three could handle them easily."

Despite being only first‑years, their remarkable abilities had already earned them the unofficial title of "the strongest trio." Even in conservative estimates, their strength rivaled Grade 1 sorcerer Zen'in Naobito. It felt a little like bullying.

"Hah? Then why bother going? I'm not interested in crushing weaklings," Satoru replied with a smirk.

Geto made a similar face of disinterest.

Yaga clenched his fists and turned to the third boy sitting cross‑legged on the floor, eyes closed, appearing to meditate.

"Can't you two learn from Shion? Look at how calm he is."

Ieiri Shoko approached and lightly poked Shion's cheek. "Teacher, he seems asleep."

Yaga blinked. "SHION!"

At the shout, Shion snapped awake with a lazy salute. "Yes, Yaga‑sensei?"

Yaga rubbed his temples. "The three of you must attend this exchange event. The higher‑ups want to evaluate your skills."

"Yeah~," they replied halfheartedly.

Shoko raised her hand. "Teacher, Utahime‑senior asked me to research Reverse Cursed Technique with her. Can I be excused?"

Yaga considered. Since Shoko's Healing Technique made her unlikely to get hurt, he nodded. "I'll request approval."

The Jujutsu High School Exchange Event, also called the Sister School Event, happened yearly between Tokyo and Kyoto schools. But this year was unusual.

Kyoto sent over twenty students across all year groups. Tokyo sent only three first‑years.

The Kyoto students were puzzled and amused. Did Tokyo school think they couldn't win?

But in the eyes of the elders, the outcome was already clear. Kyoto students expected an easy victory, but the higher‑ups firmly believed Tokyo's trio could finish in about ten minutes.

In truth, this event was to closely observe Tokyo's strongest young sorcerers… and test a few new things.

"Wow, is this Kyoto Jujutsu High? It looks way cooler than our school," Satoru said, eyes sparkling as he gazed at Kyoto's tall gates and elaborate buildings.

Shion playfully bumped his brother's shoulder. "Satoru, don't act like you've never seen fancy places before. Kyoto kids will think you're clueless."

Geto laughed. "Honestly, you're embarrassing."

"Huh? You two wanna fight?" Satoru shot back.

Geto scratched his head. "I won last time, remember?"

"No way! I won before that!"

Quietly, Shion watched them bicker with amusement.

Eventually, Shion took a step forward and declared he would lead their small team.

"Just because you're the strongest doesn't make you the leader," Geto teased.

"Well, why not?" Shion shot back.

"The leader needs steadiness, not chaos," Satoru said with a grin.

Words soon flew back and forth, and the argument quickly devolved into a playful, messy scuffle. They shoved and wrestled, punches turning into childish antics that had them pinching waists, poking noses, and getting tangled until they looked like a dust cloud of chaos.

Inside the Kyoto campus, the Kyoto students flexed and prepared themselves in a display of bravado. Behind them stood high‑ranking sorcerers and elders from major families, all watching with keen eyes.

Among them was Yuki Tsukumo, the only active Special Grade Sorcerer. She leaned over to Yoshinobu Gakuganji and asked bluntly why she had been called back from overseas.

Gakuganji's narrow eyes gleamed as he explained, "There are three exceptional students. If anything goes wrong, we will need your strength."

Tsukumo scoffed at first, but when she heard the descriptions — twins from the Gojo family with the rare Six Eyes and a third possessing supreme Cursed Spirit Manipulation — her expression grew serious.

Only first‑years, yet already called the strongest trio. Becoming Special Grade was only a matter of time.

As the group reached the main gates, Gakuganji pushed the doors open with surprising force. Everyone looked eagerly toward the courtyard, expecting to see Tokyo's formidable geniuses.

But instead, they saw three bloody, bruised students still rolling around from their brawl, complaining while wiping snot and dirt from their faces.

Yaga Masamichi's face burned with embarrassment. In that instant, he knew his reputation as an educator was permanently stained.
