Chapter 3 - 3: Unexpected Ambush in Akihabara

The phrase "the Six Eyes twins of the Gojo Family" spread like wildfire throughout the Jujutsu world. Rumors claimed both brothers carried bounties as high as one hundred million yen, making them the most exciting targets in recent memory.

"Old man, what do you think?" a static-filled voice crackled through the earpiece between bursts of interference. Obami Granny frowned over her coffee.

"It's because you're so wasteful, spending all your money on fan support tickets! Half of our last bounty went to cheering at an idol's anniversary event!"

"That was for a girls' love group's third anniversary!"

"You old lech… they're here!"

Down on the street, Sawasaka Jiro peered over the edge of a rooftop. Two white-haired boys, about six or seven years old, walked side by side amid the bustling crowds, flanked by a respectful middle-aged man.

"According to intel," Sawasaka Jiro hissed, "that man is Grade-1 Jujutsu Sorcerer Gojo Genshou of the Gojo Family, and those two must be the Six Eyes twins!"

He grinned wickedly. "I'll take the twins. Old lady, stall their bodyguard."

Inside the coffee shop, Obami Granny looked up with narrowed eyes.

"Don't mess this up," she warned.

Just as both were about to spring their ambush, the two boys on the street stopped at the same moment. They lifted their heads simultaneously, their pure blue eyes so striking that they seemed to cut through all concealment and disguise.

Across the distance, Obami Granny and Sawasaka Jiro suddenly felt a chill crawl up their spines. Their hearts raced with primal fear, like mice suddenly seeing a predator.

In a single instant, both villains collapsed to the ground, drenched in cold sweat.

"Old… old man… cancel the plan!"

Their voices shook uncontrollably. The boys' gaze alone felt like death itself.

Shaking off his shock, the younger twin—Satoru Gojo—looked away with a smirk and muttered dismissively, "Small fry."

The older twin, Gojo Shion, stretched as if warming up. "Small fry can still be good for a warm-up."

Satoru's eyes gleamed with mischievous excitement. "You're making a move then?"

"Want first pick?" Shion asked, his tone playful. "Between the two strongest."

Satoru grinned. "I'll take that old man."

Shion turned to Genshou and called back, "Uncle Genshou, I'll let you handle the rest!"

"Yes, Young Master Shion!"

In a blink all three vanished from sight.

In a nearby alley, several restless Curse Users were suddenly blocked by Gojo Genshou, who stood with a chilling glare.

"You dared target Young Master Satoru and Young Master Shion? You must want to die," he said, his cursed energy roaring like a storm.

On the rooftop, Sawasaka Jiro was about to flee when he turned around to find himself frozen in place. In his terrified eyes, Satoru appeared impossibly tall and imposing despite being only about a meter in height.

The pressure was suffocating. His heart thudded like thunder.

"Hey, brat, have you decided how you want to die?"

Satoru lazily scratched his ear as if bored.

Sawasaka Jiro trembled with rage and fear. "Don't underestimate me! You're just a kid, don't talk big!"

Roaring, he lunged forward with a knife aimed straight for Satoru's chest.

Satoru didn't flinch. A single punch, enveloped in cursed energy, struck Jiro squarely in the face. To his shock, Jiro merely grinned as if unharmed.

"Die!"

Jiro thrust the blade forward again. Before it could make contact, an unseen force held the knife in place, immovable.

"Damn it," he snarled.

Satoru raised his right hand, fingers spread, his astonishing blue gaze steady and unblinking.

"Your cursed technique is Invert Technique, right?"

Jiro froze, disbelief flooding his face. A curse user's technique normally wasn't revealed so quickly, but there was no hiding from someone like Satoru.

"You might've hoped to fight me by surprise and escape unhurt, but that chance is gone," Satoru said calmly.

"You see, inversion alone has limits," he continued, voice steady. "Depending on technique strength, there's an upper and a lower bound."

"Phase…"

"Twilight…"

"Eyes of Insight…"

Then without warning, a swirling vortex of blue cursed energy formed in Satoru's palm, brighter and more intense than any ordinary use of space manipulation could produce. This was the terrifying attraction force commonly known as Blue.

Jiro tried to pull away but his body moved toward the vortex as though gripped by invisible hands. The gravitational pull twisted and crushed him, tearing flesh and bone until he vanished into a mist of blood.

Satoru blinked once. "It seems the upper limit was lower than I thought."

Nearby, Shion stood holding what remained of Jiro, his expression cold.

"Good grandson, stall for ten seconds for me."

Before a second even passed, the body was gone.

Obami Granny stared in horror, unable to react.

"Séance Technique, summoning gods?" Shion scoffed. "Old lady, don't disturb the peace of the dead for no reason—it's disrespectful."

With a grin, he hurled the remains toward Obami Granny like a cannonball. The impact burst blood and bone in every direction. "Too slow, Satoru," he joked as his brother returned.

Satoru casually took a juice cup from Shion's hand. "That Invert Technique was somewhat interesting."

Gojo Genshou appeared moments later, his suit slightly rumpled but his expression respectful.

"Sorry for the delay, Young Master Shion, Young Master Satoru!"

The boys waved him off and continued walking down the street like it was any ordinary day.

Thus ended the first encounter between the Gojo Family's Six Eyes twins and the Curse Users.

For Shion and Satoru, it had been nothing more than a warm-up.

But the Curse User world trembled.

A Curse User isn't just a sorcerer. In power they are similar, but Curse Users lack codes and limits. They fight ravenously, for wealth or pleasure, with no regard for humanity or order.

Their freedom slipped away the moment the Six Eyes twins appeared.

Now, even walking openly had become a luxury they could no longer afford.
