Chapter 46 - 46: Yoru’s War

Cael had been enjoying the moment at first. After all, seeing Asa's bold side was rare.

But gradually, something felt off.

Hiss!

Yoru's bite grew heavier, teeth digging painfully into Cael's lips. A sharp sting, the tearing of skin, and the metallic sweetness of blood filled his mouth.

This isn't a kiss! She's biting!

"Asa, please, stop!" Cael pulled back, retreating toward the corner.

No, this was too perverted… "Asa isn't here. This is Yoru," he reminded himself.

Yoru's lips curled into a mischievous smile. She deliberately locked the car doors, pressing forward step by step, trapping him against the corner.

She hummed softly, as if discovering a new sensation. "So this is a kiss… no wonder Asa's so obsessed. It's… intoxicating. Amazing! The intertwining of blood and flesh… the perfect prelude to War!"

Yoru gripped Cael's chin firmly. He had dodged too fast earlier, preventing her from tasting properly. Surely the blood on his lips would have a distinct flavor. Straddling his legs, she pressed her forehead against his, declaring her own personal war.

"Cael, this is the War between us. My kiss must feel better than Asa's, right?"

Huh? Cael's head spun.

"It's not," he admitted honestly. "Asa's kiss is far more comfortable. Yoru, this… this is basically just feeding."

Yoru froze, stunned that her aggression was being dismissed. There was even his blood at the corner of her mouth. "Huh?! I don't believe it!" She lunged to bite again.

Cael inwardly groaned. Advancing wasn't an option, nor was fleeing. If this had been a stranger, he would've slapped them long ago. But this was Asa's body.

Then Yoru suddenly stopped.

Bang!

She slammed her head against the car seat, hand pressed to her skull. The scar on her face flickered faintly. Asa was struggling for control.

"Yoru, you fickle woman! Cael is mine! How could you do this?! You bit his lips!"

Yoru's face flushed red. "We share the same body, Asa! What does it matter? Besides, who told you to overwhelm me with these emotions?! You're so busy with romance you can't even help me find Chainsaw Man!"

"I'm searching seriously! What can I do if I can't locate him?" Asa retorted, unflinching.

"If you can't find him, I'll bite Cael to death!" Yoru snapped.

Hmm? Cael noticed something. Asa's other personality had mentioned Chainsaw Man again.

He himself was Chainsaw Man, but the one Yoru sought wasn't him—it had to be Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil. But Pochita was such a good dog. How could he have made enemies? Perhaps there was a misunderstanding.

"Um…" Cael raised a hand. "Can I interrupt you two for a moment?"

Saying "you two" to one person felt strange, but Asa froze immediately.

"Yes!"

Her cheeks flushed, the scar and spiral eyes vanished, and she regained her shyness. Asa had won the personality struggle. She gently wiped the wound at Cael's lips with a tissue, eyes filled with concern.

"Asa, I'm fine," Cael reassured her. "But… why is Yoru so obsessed with finding Chainsaw Man?"

Yoru's consciousness swiveled abruptly. Right. Cael wasn't just an Undertaker; he also had connections at the Public Safety Bureau. He must know more than she did.

"Asa, Cael seems to know something about Chainsaw Man. Give me control of the body so I can ask!"

"I can help you ask, but Yoru cannot take over," Asa refused firmly.

"Asa is so stingy."

"How can one be generous about this?"

The earlier bite had left Asa Mitaka shaken. Yoru's shamelessness was shocking. Even though it was the same body, it felt like a betrayal. But Asa didn't blame Cael—Yoru forced him.

Right. That couldn't even count as a kiss.

Asa made a decision. She would confess everything to Cael. Relationships required nurturing, and mutual trust was the foundation.

"Cael, before talking about Chainsaw Man, I need to talk about Yoru."

"Mm, sure." Cael nodded seriously.

"What I'm about to say is terrifying. Be prepared."

Cael smiled faintly, looking into her eyes. "The only thing I fear is Asa being unhappy."

Uh, how infuriatingly sweet. Asa's cheeks warmed as she took a deep breath.

"Yoru… she's actually a demon living inside me."

Yoru had warned Asa that revealing her identity would be fatal. But she had already exposed herself to Cael.

Asa stared at him, searching for shock—but Cael remained calm.

"Mm, and why does she want to find Chainsaw Man?" Cael asked.

"Asa, Yoru is a demon. Isn't that surprising?"

Snap. Cael snapped his fingers. A black hole, the size of a marble, spun at his fingertip.

"A demon is just a demon, nothing shocking. Look, Asa, I've contracted with the Blackbeard Devil myself," Cael fabricated casually. The Dark-Dark Fruit didn't exist in this world, so he needed a plausible explanation.

"Blackbeard Devil? I've never heard of it," Yoru murmured seriously.

Asa's identity had already been clear to Cael. Her expressions during their first meeting, and the Compound Bow at the Giant Egg Amusement Park, confirmed his suspicions.

Demons were abundant. Being involved with them was normal. But Asa's method—letting Yoru live inside her—was unique. And she used her abilities without paying a heavy price, unlike Hayakawa Aki or Himeno's group, who suffered severe consequences. Yoru was comparatively humane.

Seeing Cael's composed reaction, Asa continued.

"Yoru is after Chainsaw Man because he once defeated her and devoured her child. She wants to settle the score herself."

Cael narrowed his eyes. "I see… Pochita really did something terrible." The complex entanglements between demons were often beyond human understanding.

"Do you know where Chainsaw Man is?" Asa asked.

"Unfortunately, I don't," Cael replied, glancing elsewhere. Handing Pochita over to Makima earlier had been the right choice. Pochita had been a life-and-death ally; betraying him was unthinkable.

To clarify, Cael asked casually, "If Yoru is a demon, her child is a demon too, right?"

Asa nodded. "Yes. Yoru said the child she cared about most, devoured by Chainsaw Man, was called… the Nuclear Weapon Devil."

"Nuclear Weapon?" Cael frowned. "Strange name. Never heard of it."

"Right? I think it's strange too."
