Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Another Fox (Not a Fox)

"Attention, please! It is a dark day, and the omens are perfect, so this vessel will now commence its descent to Earth~"

A voice echoed from all directions.

It was Koyanskaya's voice, sounding impossibly relaxed.

The flames surged.

The blaze grew more violent, illuminating the ceiling.

Yet, the ceiling seemed to have no end.

It appeared a remarkably powerful Cursed Spirit had manifested this space.

Or perhaps, the space itself possessed such infinite properties.

"Now, please accept this. Tunguska, Nine Drive!! [Thunderous Sunlight, Harmonious Echo, Falling Flowers, Floating Water]!!"

Finally.

An overwhelmingly massive mass, wreathed in roaring fire, came charging down.

Its surface was jagged and uneven—a form seldom seen in the waking world.

It was a meteor.

"What in the hell is that…?"

Toji muttered as he watched the falling star.

It seemed he was taken aback, never having expected to face a meteorite.

"It's about to hit. Steel yourself."

Even this was a suppressed version of the move.

Had she deployed her Noble Phantasm at full capacity, we likely would have been caught in the blast ourselves.

A deafening explosion rocked the world!

Finally, the flaming meteor collided with the domain, shattering the fabric of the space.

Flames erupted from a single point, spreading in every direction.

Thunderous roars and violent vibrations ensued.

It was a spectacle that looked like a preview of the apocalypse.

Soon, the Innate Domain—shoved aside as a whole, not just at its center—dissolved into nothingness.

A perfect explosive finale.

I closed my eyes and covered my ears against the cascading roar.

I felt as if my eardrums and eyes were on the verge of bursting.

Toji, whose senses were naturally far more acute than mine, was doing exactly the same.

The pain for him must have been many times greater than mine.

We stayed in that defensive posture, waiting.

Only after the light and noise subsided did we straighten our stances.

'We're back.'

Looking around, I saw that we had returned to the dark, mundane tunnel.

Toji remained silent.

"Master. How was it? That was my first Noble Phantasm performance here. Are you alright? You aren't injured or dizzy, are you?"

Koyanskaya, who had been at a distance, approached and asked.

Judging by the gust of wind that preceded her, she must have rushed over in an instant.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

I nodded while looking at her.

Originally, in the Fate series, when a Servant uses a Noble Phantasm, the Master's Magical Energy is drained.

The larger the scale, the greater the consumption.

And yet, I was perfectly fine.

Even if I assumed some energy had been drained, I felt absolutely nothing.

Either I was receiving some form of external backup like during the Chaldea days...

Or my own pool of Magical Energy had increased to an absurd degree.

It was likely one of the two, with the former being the stronger possibility.

'If that's the case, the Servant limit isn't a problem of Magical Energy...'

Ultimately, it circled back to the issue of 'Cost.' I confirmed it once more.

If it had been a simple matter of mana, it would have been solved long ago.

"Anyway, it's resolved, so let's get out. The air in here is too damp and stale. I hate it."

"Yes, Master."

Koyanskaya took my hand and walked ahead.

Toji also walked beside me, still gripping his blade.

"Toji-san. Any signs of Cursed Spirits?"

"None. They've been completely wiped out. I don't feel a thing."

"That's a relief."

"I'm just... speechless. I've never seen or even heard of a technique that drops a meteorite. Is that even sorcery in the first place?"

"I wonder."

A Noble Phantasm is the crystallization of an individual's legend, their identity, and their armament.

It is not jujutsu.

Of course, they share the similarity of varying wildly based on individual characteristics, but...

Jujutsu is jujutsu.

A Noble Phantasm is a Noble Phantasm.

"Even that brat with the Limitless probably couldn't pull off a stunt like that. The more I learn, the more absurd this gets," Toji muttered with a scoff.

By 'that brat with the Limitless,' he obviously meant Gojo Satoru.

"By Limitless, you mean the Gojo Clan?"

"Yeah. Word is they're riding high because they finally got a combination of the Six Eyes and the Limitless Technique for the first time in ages. The world will be his for a while."

That was true.

Among modern sorcerers, there was no human who could rival Gojo Satoru.

However, that only held true if you looked at raw stats.

Reality is filled with variables, and combat isn't purely about baseline specifications.

Toji walking right beside me was the perfect example of that.

A schedule designed to inflict mental exhaustion.

Weapons that could nullify cursed techniques.

By utilizing those elements correctly, he had defeated Gojo Satoru once.

'If he had just put a hole through his head, he would have killed him for good.'

His follow-up had been a bit lacking, but it was an unavoidable situation.

If Gojo had died there, the flow of the story would have been ruined.

In the end, it did receive some backlash later on, but that too was unavoidable.

That was just how the author drew it.

"Ah."

Thump.

As we stepped out of the tunnel, my heart gave a heavy throb once more.

It was a sensation of weightiness, as if my very vessel were expanding.

A refreshing clarity, like a clogged nose suddenly clearing, swept through me.

"Master. Are you alright?"

Koyanskaya crouched in front of me and asked.

She must have felt the shift in my state.

"I'm fine. Actually, I feel great."

I wasn't lying; I genuinely felt excellent.

It was as if my vessel had been emptied.

'No, that's not it.'

Specifically, it felt as though an additional empty vessel had been created.

If my hunch was correct...

"Koyanskaya. Shall we try pulling here?"

"Pulling? Pulling what...?"

Koyanskaya trailed off, her eyes widening.

She had realized what I meant.

"Could it be... another Servant?"

"Probably. I feel like my Cost has increased, but I won't know for sure until I try."

"I understand. There are no people or Cursed Spirits around, so summoning here should be no problem."

I shared her sentiment.

This environment was more than sufficient.

"Hold on."

Just as I was about to begin the summons, Toji called out.

He looked more than a little flustered.

"Yes? What is it?"

"Those Servants... are there more of them? You're saying there isn't just one of these monsters?"

"There are many," I replied flatly.

Toji's mouth twisted into a wry smirk.

I couldn't tell if he liked the idea or hated it.

"It seems my leash is held by an even bigger player than I thought."

"Does it make you anxious?"

"Anxious? If anything, it's a relief. If you're going to have a master as a backup, it might as well be one with enough power to let the slave act a little spoiled. After all, if you're going to serve, serve in the grandest house in town, right?"

That was true enough.

A slave of a high-ranking official is different from a common one.

"You're not wrong."

"Exactly. Sorry for the interruption. Get back to what you were doing."

"Understood."

I took a light breath to center myself.

Originally, Servant summoning in the Fate series was a type of magecraft.

Because it was such an old franchise, there were clichéd summoning incantations.

In Grand Order, we used them sometimes, and other times we didn't.

It was always a bit ambiguous.

Regardless.

Standard Servant summoning required a magic circle and an incantation.

And plenty of Magical Energy to boot.

But ever since arriving in this world, that process had changed.

It was more like selecting a Servant already on standby and bringing them out.

Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and concentrated. The surroundings grew dark.

I felt a sensation of floating.

—Master.

After a brief moment, voices called out from all around me.

They were the voices of the Servants I had formed contracts with.

To be precise, only those with a high Bond Level... but their numbers were far from few.

A high-tier Servant is a one-man army.

Even those considered low-performing in the game were world-altering entities in reality.

"Alright. Everyone, settle down."

I first quieted the clamor of voices.

Since I met them every day in my dreams, I could afford to be a bit blunt.

"..."

Fortunately, silence fell the moment I spoke.

I was truly grateful for that.

Focusing inward, I conversed with the numerous Servants I had summoned.

This, too, had been impossible back in Chaldea.

"It seems I've become able to summon one more Servant, so I'm here to test it out. I've come to think about who would be best."

The air stirred as I spoke.

I could feel their immense anticipation.

Even if they saw my face every day, manifesting in reality was a completely different matter.

It was only natural they were excited.

Who should I choose?

I wanted to call all of them, but for now, one was the limit.

"I want to bring you all out, but I think I've finally found a way to increase the summoning Cost. I'm working on it, so please bear with me just a little longer."

—Yes, Master.

—If Master says so, I'll believe in you. Even if it's a bit suffocating, I can still see your face every day.

—There is no need for haste. Your safety is the priority.

—It is a fortunate thing that we finally have a means to do so.

Comments of all kinds flew at me from every direction.

Hearing their comforting voices gave me strength.

'I've decided.'

After a short pause, I called out the Servant's name.

"Koyanskaya of Light."

The moment I uttered the name...

The world brightened, and the darkness vanished.

The evening moonlight spilled from the sky, and a cool, refreshing breeze brushed against the earth.

And there, standing before me, was another Servant.

She stood there naturally, as if she had always been there.

There was none of the dazzling visual effects typical of a Servant summon.

"Thank you for summoning me this time. Since it has been a while since I was called upon, I suppose I should introduce myself properly again?"

A beauty clad in a tight bodysuit.

A Servant who looked identical to Koyanskaya of Darkness smiled at me.

Had their outfits been the same, they would have been indistinguishable.

It couldn't be helped.

They were both different facets split from the single Beast that was Koyanskaya, differing only in the aspect they manifested.

"It's been a while."

I nodded at Koyanskaya of Light—Light Koyan.

The Light one was Light Koyan, and the Dark one was Dark Koyan.

The nicknames used in the community were a bit ambiguous, so I'd have to think of other names.

Or should I just call them by their classes?

Light was an Assassin.

And Darkness was a Foreigner.

"How are you feeling?"

While Toji's eyes were wide with shock, Koyanskaya asked me.

The 'Light' version, that is.

"Great. No dizziness, no feeling of being overextended. It's comfortable."

"I'm glad to hear it. It seems my other self assisted you quite appropriately."

Light smiled as she faced Koyanskaya of Darkness.

Their voices were as identical as their appearances.

Their faces, the size of their breasts and hips, even the curve of their thighs.

Right down to the sway of their pelvis.

"I am a Koyanskaya as well, so secretarial duties are second nature to me. More importantly, we should change your attire first. That bodysuit is far too suggestive."

Darkness sighed as she pointed at Light.

Light tilted her head innocently.

"My, what's wrong with this outfit? It's perfect for tempting Master, and if I claim it's a rider suit, nobody can really complain, can they?"

"It reveals the lines of your body far too explicitly. Especially the thighs."

"It's nothing a simple zip up can't fix. Besides, it's not as if your own attire doesn't emphasize your curves just as much."

The two foxes exchanged banter with smiles.

But those were not friendly smiles.

'Wait, why are they having a power struggle?'

They shared the same roots and were usually on good terms; they weren't the type to fight over things like this.

In fact, they were usually quite proactive when it came to seduction.

Then why?

Why was Darkness acting like some uptight prude with a warped sense of Confucian values?

"Enough. The clothes aren't a big deal, but hiding the ears is the most important part. You know that, right?"

"Ah."

In an instant, both women looked at me simultaneously.

They weren't just foxes; they were vixen-like to the core.

"I suppose so. I'm fine, but the 'Light' version of me still has her ears out."

"Once you undergo an Ascension, you'll also... No, never mind."

"Right. There's no point in senseless bickering."

Light sighed and nodded.

Darkness did the same.

"Concealing the ears with illusions is simple enough. As for changing our Spiritron Dresses... that shouldn't be too difficult either, should it?"

"No problem at all. After all, I am an elite secretary."

Light smirked with her head held high.

And as she raised her head, her ample bust stood out with even greater majesty.

Grand and perfect.

Seeing a bust that could only be described by those two words brought a surge of deep emotion.

'Whoa, that's four tits!'

In my heart, I wanted to shout it loud enough for the echo to ring out.

Men are inherently drawn to doing stupid things, after all.

But I suppressed the urge and concluded the conversation.

"Then let's do that... Toji-san? Are you alright?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah. I'm fine. I don't know what the hell is going on, but seeing two identical faces is bizarre. I thought I was having a nightmare."

Toji shook his head as he answered.

It seemed his drifting consciousness had finally returned.

"That's good. Now, let's head down."

"Yeah. Let's go. Let's just go."

Toji practically sprinted downward, as if he couldn't wait to leave.

Watching him run down the incline as if it were flat ground was truly an impressive sight.

"Koyanskaya of Light, give me a carry. Since it's your first summons."

"Of course, Master. I would be honored."

Light scooped me up with a playful smile.

The weight, the warmth, and the scent.

Everything about her was top-tier, just like Darkness.

"I suppose I have no choice."

As Light leaped into the air and kicked off the ground, Darkness followed close behind, letting out a small, resigned sigh.
