"You and everyone in this village shall call me Chief or Clan Head." Chief replied, "And I can tell that you are telling truth because of my abilities."
"Abilities, like magic?" Julian asked.
"Yes, yes abilities." Chief said, "You probably have no knowledge over them."
"Yes I have no knowledge of anything of this new world." Julian said.
"I'll tell you then." Chief replied, "There are three pathways, body, mind, and spirt. Each of these allow you to do different things. Personally I choose spirit."
Chief got out of his chair and stood up. He was around 5'5 and looked skinny.
"Follow me." He said, "I will show you how you can unlock one of these pathways."
Chief walked past Julian and Komodo. The three of them all walked together down the stairs. Once they had reached the base floor they went out of the building. They started walking down one of the main streets of the clan. The clan was more like a city of people who all new each other a little bit. It was separated into four parts and separating them were four huge roads that led to mini streets. Chief was leading them down the road to the east of the main building.
They stopped in the and went into a building. It looked like almost a perfect box but the roof of the building was a little slanted. Inside there was a door towards the right side and and big pot full of water to the left.
Chief opened the door and walked in.
"Oh, hey chief!" A man yelled in the corner of the room. "Ohh and you to Komodo."
"Hey, Calculus." Chief replied.
"Whacha in here for." Calculus said.
"This boy needs to choose his pathway." Komodo said as he pointed to Julian.
"Oh I see!" Calculus said, "Why don't yall come to the basement then."
Calculus opened up a small door that was in the ground. He then went into the hole and the others followed.
Once inside there was 45 by 45 room. There was nothing inside just an empty room.
"What the hell are you guys gonna do to me in here?" Julian said.
"We are gonna activate your magic pathway so you don't need to rely on weapons." Chief said.
"And how are you gonna activate it?" Julian retaliated.
At that moment bright yellow energy started to surround Chief's hands. Chief had created a hammer and a large nail.
"With this." Chief said, "To activate a pathway you are going to need to put your life force onto one point. This is the fastest way to do this."
"So are you implying that you're gonna stab me with a needle on a certain area to activate it." Julian said.
"That's correct." Chief said in a righteous voice, "So, which pathway are you going to choose?"
"Umm," Julian said, "Can you explain to me what each pathway does."
"I'll explain!" Calculus said, "First the is body, it allows you to enhance your physical capabilities and allows you to alter your body, it takes around a few months to understand the basics and most people choose this as their pathway. Next is mind, this gives you enhanced senses and intelligence. Most people who choose mind make powerful weapons, very few people choose this path and it takes around a year to master. Finally there is spirit, with spirit you are able to do many things like make stuff out of thin air using your life force. Almost no one chooses this path due to its difficulty; it takes around ten years to master."
"By the way, if you choose body you get hit in heart, if you choose mind you get in the head, and if you choose spirit you get hit in the abdomen." Komodo said right after.
Julian thought for a moment "I think, think I'll choose mind."
A few seconds after Chief went behind Julian and told him to sit down. Julian sat down and Chief put the needle onto the top of his head. The needle was targeted to the parietal lobe.
Once Chief had got to the right spot he slammed the hammer onto the nail. Julian fell to his right side. In that moment the room was quiet. He pulled out then needle. The needle and the hammer disappeared a few seconds after.
Around a minute later Julian was awake again.
"The hell, that hurt." He said.
"Oh by the way you get a new name to once you awaken." Calculus says.
"Why do I have to get a new name?" Julian asked
"The new name given to actually holds value than the one given when you were little. And symbolizes something about you. It also separates you from the rest of the world meaning that you awakened." Calculus says.
"And if your wondering about the way to know your true name. You will need to go to back upstairs and dip your face into the water pot." Chief said.
With that knowledge they all walked upstairs and went to the pot. Julian looked at the pot seeing his reflection.
"This, this is a pot full of holy water. It never dries and to make you need the blood of someone who has body, a creation from someone with mind, and a little bit of life force from somebody who has spirit." Chief said while staring directly at Julian. "Your name will be revealed after you put your face into it."
Julian dipped his face into the water for ten seconds before pulling out. On the water parts of it went down to spell out letters. The first letter to appear was N, then E, then, V, then, O, then O, and finally A.
"Nevooa." Julian said to himself with a sign of telling that he is surprised.
"From now on that is your name. Everyone shall address you by it." Chief said.
Nevooa said to himself, "Nevooa, Nevooa that is my name.
