Chapter 8 - The Vanishing Shadow

LeeHan held the massive pill in his hand, staring at it intently. Seeing its radiance, he hesitated and asked in a low voice, "This... this pill must be very expensive, right? Can I really eat this? Is it not too much for someone like me?"

Hao Lin and Hao Chen smiled at his innocence. "Yes, yes, eat it! Go ahead! It was made specifically for you," Hao Chen said, offering him encouragement.

But LeeHan continued to hesitate, talking instead of swallowing. He still couldn't believe such a precious treasure was being handed to him. Finally, Hao Lin's patience ran out. With a mischievous glint in her eyes, she stepped forward, forced LeeHan's mouth open, and deftly popped the pill inside.

"Don't think so much, just swallow it!" Hao Lin said, laughing.

As the pill slid down LeeHan's throat, a miracle occurred. The moment it reached his stomach, the entire 'Aura' emanating from his body vanished. To the rest of the world, he became a void.

But the effect was not limited to him alone. Far away, amidst the ruins of the destroyed Blood-Refining Sect, where the Heavenly Messenger and Elder Xuan were refining that drop of blood, chaos erupted.

The drop of blood, which until a moment ago was emitting a pressure capable of trembling the universe, suddenly went silent. The power of the pill had neutralized not only LeeHan's main body but also the fragments of his blood spilled outside. That terrifying pressure vanished in an instant, and the blood fell to the ground like ordinary waste.

"What... what happened?" Elder Xuan shouted, terror in his eyes.

The Messenger also recoiled. He swept his Divine Sense in every direction, but he couldn't comprehend it. "Impossible! How did such a fierce pressure suddenly become zero? It's as if that power's very existence has been erased from this world."

They had no idea that miles away, in a small hut, a pill made by a young girl had buried Heaven's greatest secret—for now.

In the hut, LeeHan felt the restlessness and the heavy burden inside him vanish completely. He felt incredibly light, as if a centuries-old weight had been lifted from his shoulders.

The silence inside the hut was no longer frightening, but soothing. As Hao Lin's pill took effect, LeeHan felt as though every fiber of his being had been wrapped in a silken blanket.

Hao Chen scrutinized him from head to toe with his experienced gaze. He tried to probe LeeHan with his divine power, but he felt absolutely nothing. He spoke in amazement, "Incredible! LeeHan, as far as I recall, your cultivation was perhaps only at the very beginning—the First Stage of Body Tempering. But now... now your cultivation won't even be visible to anyone. You look more ordinary than a common man."

Hao Lin dusted off her hands with pride. "See, Grandpa? The miracle of my pill. Now, even if an 'Immortal' himself shows up, he won't be able to peek inside LeeHan."

LeeHan slowly looked at the palms of his hands. He could hardly believe it himself. He said timidly, "Sir... you are absolutely right. I feel the same way. It feels as if an impenetrable wall has been erected inside my body, protecting me from all sides. Before, I always felt like someone was watching me, like someone was pulling at my soul... but now, everything is peaceful."

He remained silent for a while and then asked in a low voice, "Will no one really be able to find me now? Have I truly vanished from the eyes of the world?"

Hao Chen smiled. "Yes, child. For now, you are safe. This pill will hide every trace of your identity. Now, rest, for from this day on, your new life begins."

Meanwhile, the area of the Blood-Refining Sect now looked worse than a crematorium. Standing amidst the billowing smoke and rubble, the Heavenly Messenger was like a stone statue. Before him, the drop of blood that had been roaring like the god of death was now black and mingled with the dirt. All its pressure, all its power, had vanished.

Elder Xuan's face was pale with fear. He looked at the Messenger and asked in a trembling voice, "Your Excellency... how is this possible? That fierce energy... that horrific pressure... how did it become zero in an instant? Has that power been destroyed, or is it even greater than us?"

The Messenger took a deep, heavy breath. His fingers were still clenched tight around his weapon. Looking at the rubble, he said, "Destroyed? No... this is not destruction. This is 'vanishing.' That energy truly was identical to the aura of the Heavenly Demon that Great Ye Fang crushed centuries ago."

The Messenger stepped forward, whispering as he looked at the neutralized blood in the debris, "My heart tells me the danger has not passed. Has that demon been Revived? Or... is the one who lived here some Reincarnation of that demon? Is it possible the demon has Possessed someone's body and is now hiding from all of us, growing his strength in the shadows?"

Elder Xuan's soul shuddered. "If that is true, then it is a sign of apocalypse for all of creation!"

The Messenger looked at the sky, where lightning crackled. "We do not know where he is, but if that demon has returned, the throne of Heaven will shake. Whatever happened here was no mere coincidence. We must find that 'invisible' shadow before he regains his full strength."

The Messenger and his warriors began searching for clues in the rubble, unaware that the 'demon' they feared so much was trying to find a peaceful night's sleep in a small, humble hut.
