Chapter 27 - afterword

The very next day we started our journey to the most conflicted city of this era, Kannauj. It was like a second capital to Pratihar Empire.

Now I just believe that I am not made for cities as I have not stayed in a city more than a month in this year.

My group was left behind as with the help of them I could escape says Prince Rajendr and only a host of all five of us were permitted to come with us, as Mihir was tensed about my safety.

Whole Pratihar royal family was now going to Kannauj to ensure weather I am guilty or framed, but I, my people and Allah knows that I am innocent, I can never kill someone I call friend.

We were forced move ahead just to ensure we don't escape.

Raghuvir was beside me then he said, "It was shocking right".

"What"?

"Knowing that one of our friends is the strongest emperor of the era".

"It does".

"What do you think, would there be a way to save us rather than this combat".

"I mean I understand that Mihir did this as he did not wanted to be called the abuser of his power, but it was dumb to for him to not straight up give orders to save us".

We were just talking and then someone came from behind with his guards on.

"Enjoying the travel, do you", he said.

The man was strong, healthy, handsome, and well spoken. He wore the most royal looking clothes.

"I saw you at the judgement", I replied.

"Yes, Prince Mahendr probably would have told about me to you did he, I am Vinod Pratihar, son of late Prince Kunwar, and younger brother of Prince Rajendr".

"Yes Prince Mahendr told me about you he said.....you were a able commander".

He seemed flattered from the compliment.

"Ya, our honorable Prince was like a iron man of Empire, not only he was given power but he speaked so well no one could go against him, so I don't think that 'you' could have killed him".

"That's really good of you to think that, your highness".

"Everyone either feared him or loved him but no one could go against him, so only three persons come into my mind that could have guts to assassinate 'him'".

"Who could that be, your highness".

"First one is my emperor grandfather himself but to even think that he assassinate someone is bizzare, but yeah second one is acceptable, none other than Rajendr".

"Your own brother, you don't trust him at all and think he murdered someone".

"See the thing is he doesn't fear anyone and can keep his words infront of even grandfather without hesitation and he thinks he is rightful heir to throne, so he must have killed him".

"I don't think he could, because Prince Mahendr held your brother on high regards and respected him".

"But third one is most acceptable, it's none other than Aryan, he is psychopath, he can even refuse 'order' of grandfather, and yeah he also thinks that as the 'eldest grandson' the throne is his so killing someone like Prince Mahendr is not a big deal for him".

"He refused the orders of emperor".

"Yes, he did not wanted to marry someone and some stuff".

"Is that so"?

"Yes didn't you see he was sarcastic and unbothered of his death as he knew about this demise".

Although he also seemed unbothered but he did got a point there.

I didn't know where this family will take me.
