Chapter 51 - Chapter 51 — THE CELESTIAL HUNT BEGINS

The sky above New Eden City no longer belonged to the world.

Great fractures of burning gold and deep cosmic violet spread across the heavens like shattered glass, bleeding light into the storm clouds. The atmosphere trembled with distant thunder not natural thunder, but the echo of divine power clashing far beyond mortal comprehension.

The battlefield lay in ruins.

Collapsed towers, molten streets, and smoking craters stretched across kilometers of broken ground. The scent of scorched metal and ionized air hung thick, stinging the lungs with every breath. What had once been a thriving metropolis was now a war-scarred wasteland.

Yet in the center of the devastation stood Kael Arden.

His chest rose and fell steadily. His coat fluttered in the charged wind, glowing faintly with radiant runes. Small arcs of golden energy crackled across his arms, fading and reappearing in slow pulses.

Around him, his team regrouped.

Leon leaned against a fractured wall, lightning still dancing faintly across his fingertips as his breathing slowly steadied. Jax wiped blood from his mouth, grinning through the pain as if it were nothing more than a minor inconvenience. Ari knelt beside Ren, carefully sealing a deep gash along his side with soft waves of glowing energy.

Above them, the shattered body of the Vanguard Commander lay half-buried in molten stone, its once brilliant armor reduced to twisted fragments.

They had won.

But victory brought no relief.

Kael stared upward at the broken sky, his expression dark.

"This was only the opening move," he said quietly.

The others fell silent.

They all felt it.

The pressure lingering in the air. The subtle hum vibrating through reality itself. The sense of unseen eyes watching from far beyond the clouds.

Leon exhaled sharply. "You think they're already preparing the next strike?"

Kael nodded. "They never send a single force unless it's disposable. The Vanguard was testing us. Measuring our strength."

Jax cracked his knuckles. "Then let them come. We smashed their commander. That's got to mean something."

"It does," Kael replied. "It means they now know exactly how dangerous we are."

The sky rippled.

Not violently. Not explosively.

But deliberately.

Golden sigils bloomed across the clouds, forming massive interlocking symbols that stretched across the heavens. The world seemed to pause as reality bent beneath their weight.

Ari's breath caught. "That's… a summoning array."

Ren slowly stood, eyes narrowed. "Not just any array. A pursuit formation."

Kael's gaze hardened.

"They're hunting us."

The air twisted.

Then space itself split open.

High above the battlefield, seven colossal portals tore into existence, each radiating a distinct aura blazing gold, abyssal black, crimson flame, silver frost, emerald wind, void-purple distortion, and radiant white.

From each portal descended a figure.

They did not fall.

They walked through the air, each step forming glowing platforms beneath their feet.

Their presence crushed the battlefield like a mountain pressing down on fragile glass.

Seven Celestial Hunters.

Each one a living weapon.

Each one far stronger than the Vanguard Commander.

Leon swallowed. "That's… that's unfair."

Jax let out a low whistle. "Yeah. Now we're talking."

The Hunters stopped in the sky, forming a loose circle around the ruins.

At their center hovered a tall figure clad in white and gold armor, his wings forged from pure radiant energy. His face was cold, his eyes glowing like miniature suns.

"Target confirmed," he announced, his voice echoing across the city like a divine decree. "Radiant Host: Kael Arden."

The words slammed into Kael's mind like a hammer.

"So they know my name," Kael muttered.

"Of course we do," the celestial replied. "Your existence violates the celestial order. You wield a power not meant for mortal hands."

One of the Hunters stepped forward a tall woman with long black hair flowing behind her like smoke, her eyes glowing violet. Shadows coiled around her form, warping the air.

"The Supreme Tribunal has issued a direct command," she said calmly. "Your termination is mandatory."

Ari clenched her fists. "We won't let you take him."

The woman glanced at Ari with mild interest. "Your loyalty is admirable. It will not save you."

Kael raised his hand slightly, signaling his team to stay back.

His eyes locked onto the seven Hunters.

"If you want me," he said, voice steady, "then come and take me."

For half a second, silence ruled the battlefield.

Then

The sky exploded.

A spear of crimson fire tore downward, slamming into the ground where Kael had stood. The impact shattered the street, sending molten debris flying in every direction.

Kael vanished.

A heartbeat later, he reappeared behind the crimson Hunter, his fist glowing with blinding radiance.

The punch connected.

The shockwave tore the clouds apart.

The Hunter was hurled across the city, crashing through three collapsed buildings before skidding across the broken ground in a trail of flame.

Leon reacted instantly, raising his arms as lightning spiraled into the sky.

"Storm Breaker!"

A massive bolt split into dozens of branching arcs, crashing down upon the emerald and silver Hunters, forcing them back in a blinding explosion of thunder.

Jax roared and charged.

His body ignited in blazing aura as he leapt high, slamming both fists into the void-purple Hunter. The impact folded space inward, sending shockwaves rippling across reality itself.

Ren vanished.

Shadows swallowed him, and seconds later, his blades flashed across the battlefield, striking pressure points and weak zones across the enemy formation.

Ari extended both hands, her aura blooming outward in waves of shimmering light, reinforcing her allies and knitting torn muscles and fractured bones back together in moments.

The battlefield erupted into chaos.

Celestial weapons clashed against mortal power.

Divine flames collided with radiant lightning.

The sky shattered again and again as shockwaves tore across the heavens.

Kael surged forward, weaving between attacks with terrifying precision. Each movement was fluid, his body guided by instinct and battle-honed awareness. His power surged higher, his radiant core pulsing violently in his chest.

Yet even as he fought, he could feel it.

The strain.

His energy reserves were dropping faster than before. These enemies weren't just powerful they were relentless, perfectly synchronized, and terrifyingly efficient.

A white blade slashed across his side, tearing through his defenses and sending him skidding across the ground.

He rolled, barely regaining his footing as golden blood trickled from the wound.

The winged leader descended slowly, his gaze unwavering.

"You are formidable," he admitted. "But this ends now."

He raised his hand.

The sky darkened.

A colossal sigil formed above Kael, spinning rapidly as celestial energy gathered at its core.

"Celestial Execution: Final Judgment."

Kael braced himself.

Then

A roar shattered the air.

From the far horizon, a titanic column of blue energy surged skyward, piercing through the clouds like a spear of rebellion. The celestial sigil trembled, destabilizing as its formation fractured.

The Hunters turned.

A massive airborne fleet emerged from the clouds.

Dozens of colossal warships glided through the sky, their hulls glowing with ancient runes and advanced technology. Fighter units swarmed around them like a storm of steel and light.

At the forefront flew a sleek black flagship, its engines burning with radiant blue flame.

Leon's eyes widened. "No way…"

Jax grinned wildly. "They made it."

Kael felt a familiar presence brush against his senses.

Hope.

The flagship's hangar doors burst open, and a figure leapt into open air.

Clad in silver combat armor, her long white hair streaming behind her, she descended like a falling star.

She landed beside Kael, the impact cracking the ground beneath her boots.

Her violet eyes locked onto the Hunters.

"Sorry we're late," she said calmly. "World Council reinforcements have arrived."

Kael exhaled. "Lyra."

Behind her, thousands of fighters poured from the warships, forming defensive formations across the ruined city.

Energy cannons charged.

Shield barriers deployed.

Humanity had answered.

The winged leader narrowed his eyes. "So. The insects choose defiance."

Lyra smirked. "We prefer survival."

Kael straightened, wiping blood from his lips as his radiant aura flared brighter.

"This war doesn't end today," he said, voice echoing across the battlefield. "But neither do we."

The sky trembled as both sides prepared for the next collision.

Above them, the shattered heavens pulsed ominously, as if the universe itself were watching.

The Celestial War had only just begun.
