"This is bad. If that attack goes through, Kisaragi loses!" Yugi said, his face tense with panic.
"I activate the Trap Card Absorbing Shield!" Kisara declared.
A green shield appeared in front of Destiny HERO - Doom Lord. Guardian Elma's attack struck the barrier and was repelled.
"What?!"
"Absorbing Shield activates when an opponent's monster declares an attack. It targets that attacking monster, negates its attack, and restores my Life Points by the amount of that monster's ATK."
"Your Guardian Elma has 2600 ATK, so I recover 2600 Life Points!"

Seeing that, Kaiba let out a breath of relief.
"But my attacks aren't over yet! Guardian Grarl attacks Destiny HERO - Doom Lord! Resolute Slash!"
Guardian Grarl raised its massive axe and brought it down on Destiny HERO - Doom Lord. Doom Lord was instantly split in two.

When Raphael heard her words, he turned to look at his own monsters. Only then did he realize that their eyes were red, their faces twisted with evil. They looked nothing like the companions he once knew on that deserted island.
Eatos was the same. Under the influence of the Seal, her once gentle and compassionate gaze had become arrogant and deranged. Even her pure white wings had been dyed black.
"Could it be… the darkness in my own heart that turned them into this?" Raphael sank to his knees.
"Looks like you finally understand," Kisaragi said. "If I'm not wrong, that Seal draws out the darkness within its user and channels it into their Duel Monsters."
"But I can't turn back anymore." Raphael rose to his feet again. "Aoi Kisaragi, even if I was the one who turned my monsters into this… even if I know that Lord Dartz was responsible for my family's deaths… I still cannot defy him."
"The duel has already begun. Only one of us can survive. That is the fate we can no longer change."
"If I defeat Dartz, everything can still return to normal!" Kisaragi said.
"Impossible. I know Lord Dartz's strength better than anyone. Even if you're strong, you're still no match for him. The proof is that even against me, you've been forced into a disadvantage!"
"A disadvantage? Hmph." Kisaragi snorted. "This doesn't count as a disadvantage to me at all."

Kisaragi glanced at the card she had drawn, then began her declaration.
"Raphael, everything up to now was just the appetizer. Now, I'll show you the ultimate Destiny HERO!"
"The ultimate Destiny HERO? You mean Destiny HERO - Dogma wasn't her ace?" Yugi said.
"I activate the Continuous Spell Card D - Force from my hand. When this card is activated, I can add one Destiny HERO - Plasma from my deck or Graveyard to my hand."
"I summon D Cubed from my hand in Attack Position!"

A mechanical cat appeared on Kisaragi's field, marked with the letter "D" on its head.

A monster clad in demonic armor slowly rose from the ground. One of its arms ended in a devil's claw, while the other resembled the head of a wicked dragon. Broken demonic wings wrapped around its body, giving off an extraordinary pressure.

"What?! It has such a terrifying effect?" Yugi and Kaiba exclaimed in shock.

"I activate the Continuous Trap Card Crystal Seal! This card targets one face-up monster on my opponent's field. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, the selected monster cannot attack, be Tributed, change its battle position, activate its effects, or be selected as an attack target!"
Crystals appeared beneath Destiny HERO - Plasma's feet and slowly rose upward, trying to encase it.
"You think you can do that?" Kisaragi said coldly.
The instant her words fell, white light erupted around Plasma, shattering the crystal prison.
"How?!"
"Hmph. Because of D - Force's effect. As long as I control Destiny HERO - Plasma, my opponent cannot target cards on my field with card effects."
"Therefore, Plasma's effect continues. I equip your Guardian Grarl to Destiny HERO - Plasma as an Equip Card. Destiny HERO - Plasma gains ATK equal to half of Guardian Grarl's original ATK. Coagulated Blood!"
Destiny HERO - Plasma spread its wings. A powerful suction force burst from them, dragging Guardian Grarl into the darkness between its wings.
