"Did you see that, Gozaburo Kaiba?" Seto sneered. "A dead man can't win—let alone defeat Aoi."
"No… I can't lose!" Gozaburo roared.
His body dissolved into a storm of crimson smoke, surging toward Aoi like a hunting beast.
"I don't care about duel promises," the smoke hissed, voice warped and layered. "If I control you, Seto will never dare defy me."
Aoi tried to step off the duel machine—but the platform descended far too slowly. Waiting even a second longer would be fatal.
"Aoi—jump!" Seto shouted, arms wide open beneath her.
No hesitation. Aoi leapt.
Seto caught her cleanly, the impact thudding through his shoulders. He didn't let go.
"Move. Now." He grabbed her hand and pulled her into a sprint through the KaibaCorp corridors.
"Away, Seto!" a voice thundered from above.
Seto's eyes snapped up. "Noah?"
Noah's voice came through the system like a broadcast cutting into the world itself.
"Seto, listen. Get out of KaibaCorp—now. There's a portal at the main entrance. That's the exit to this world!"
"Tch. You'd better not be lying." Seto's tone was a blade.
"Seto," Aoi said, breathing steady despite the chase, "trust him. If Noah wanted us dead, he wouldn't need to do it this way."
Seto's jaw tightened. "Fine. Stay close."
The moment Aoi's duel began, Noah had broken into a sealed computer room—towering servers, a massive terminal, and security locks that only existed to be violated.
Mokuba burst in behind him.
"Noah—do you know how to find the exit?"
Noah didn't answer. His hands flew across the controls—then he slammed both fists into the console.
"Damn it… every exit route is blocked. Father sealed them all."
"There has to be a hidden one," Mokuba insisted. "Something he doesn't know about."
That sentence hit Noah like a spark in dry grass.
"…Right."
He spun back to the screen, eyes brightening.
"When I built this world, I made a prototype hidden exit. It worked—but I thought it was unnecessary, so I buried it. Father never knew it existed."
"I'll help," Mokuba said immediately, stepping in beside him.
For a second Noah watched Mokuba's focused face, his steady hands. A poisonous thought tried to surface:
If I possessed Mokuba, I could leave.
But Aoi's earlier words cut across his mind like a warning bell:
"Do you really want to live forever under your father's control?"
Noah's fingers faltered.
Mokuba spoke without looking up.
"You're thinking about taking my body, aren't you?"
Noah froze.
Mokuba continued, calm as if reading a line of code.
"So it's true. Fine. If you promise you won't target my brother… I'll allow it. We'll get you out, and I'll ask Seto to give you a body. Not a real human one—obviously."
Noah blinked. "Why would you help me? I hurt you. I hurt Seto."
Mokuba's answer was simple.
"We're Kaibas. Blood or not—we're brothers. The three of us."
Noah let out a quiet laugh—bitter, disbelieving, almost embarrassed.
"…After everything I did, you still call me that."
Then he leaned in, work turning surgical.
"Exit is active. I copied it. One portal will appear behind us—another at KaibaCorp's main entrance."
Mokuba nodded. "Good. After you tell my brother, we leave."
Back in KaibaCorp, Seto and Aoi ran toward the main entrance.
"You can't escape me, Seto!" Gozaburo's red smoke closed in, devouring the hall lights.
"It's too fast," Seto snapped.
Aoi's body flared with white light.
"Seto—now!"
A spectral Blue-Eyes White Dragon erupted beside them, solidifying in a roar of wind and brilliance.
"Get on!" Aoi shouted. "Blue-Eyes will take us to the exit!"
Seto didn't argue. He scooped Aoi up and jumped onto Blue-Eyes' back.
"Please," Aoi whispered. "Blue-Eyes."
The dragon answered with a thunderous roar, blasting a Burst Stream ahead—clearing obstacles in a line of white destruction.
With the path open, Blue-Eyes accelerated like a missile.
At the main entrance, a swirling, multicolored portal hung in the air.
"That's it," Aoi said. "Noah's exit."
"Blue-Eyes—straight through!" Seto commanded.
They shot into the portal a heartbeat before the crimson smoke could latch on.
Behind them, Gozaburo's fury shook the air.
"SETO! You will never escape my grasp!"
A mechanical hiss.
The capsule pods opened.
Seto and Aoi jolted upright, breathing hard, eyes sharp—back in the real world.
"Aoi," Seto said, scanning, "we're out."
"Yes," Aoi answered. "Now we get to the duel ship."
"Brother! Aoi!" Mokuba ran in, relief flooding his face. "Are you okay?"
"We're fine," Seto said.
Then Mokuba's voice changed—tone sliding into something older, smoother.
"You really did escape Father's hand. Impressive."
Seto's head snapped toward him. "Noah… why are you in Mokuba's body?!"
Mokuba raised both hands quickly.
"Brother, it was my idea. He helped us. And I don't want him trapped in that world forever."
Seto glared—pure warning.
"This isn't over. But time is tight. Explain later. And you—don't even think about trying anything."
He turned and dragged Aoi with him toward the ship.
Outside, they ran into Yugi's group—plus Ishizu and Marik—amid scattered wreckage.
Seto's eyes swept the damage.
"What happened here?"
Yugi answered, tense but steady. "Marik used the Millennium Rod's power to disable the weapons. We searched everywhere—we were worried about you."
Seto didn't thank them. He walked straight past.
Jounouchi bristled. "Hey! They saved you, and you don't even—"
"I don't recall asking for your help," Seto shot back. "Especially not from you, third-rate."
Aoi stepped in smoothly, voice soft but firm.
"Sorry. That's just Seto. Thank you, all of you—truly."
Yugi sighed, half-smiling. "It's fine. We know what he's like."
Aoi jogged after Seto, her scolding fading into the distance.
"Seto—slow down! And the way you just talked to everyone—"
From behind, Anzu laughed quietly.
"They're getting closer," she said. "Aoi even calls him Seto now."
Mai smirked. "Something definitely happened while they were gone."
A massive explosion shook the air.
"Move!" someone shouted.
Everyone boarded the duel ship—already prepped to launch the moment Seto and Aoi returned.
But then crimson smoke rose again, rolling in like a tide—trying to swallow the vessel whole.
"What is that?!" panic rippled.
"Tch—persistent." Seto sprinted for the cockpit and slammed a control switch.
The rear thrusters ignited.
The duel ship tore forward—accelerating to supersonic speed—leaving the red smoke behind like a discarded nightmare.
The smoke screamed into the sky:
"SETO! YOU CANNOT ESCAPE!"
Mokuba—Noah—spoke under his breath, voice low and final.
"…It's time."
The aircraft carrier that had trapped them erupted in a chained detonation.
A bomb—set earlier by Noah during the escape. Originally meant for Seto.
Now used on the one person Noah hated most.
Gozaburo's smoke ignited, wrapped in flame—and began to disintegrate.
"Noah… you traitorous son—!"
Noah's eyes narrowed, expression settling into something cold and resolved.
"Father… you were right about one thing."
"Our values diverged long ago."
"Goodbye."
