Chapter 122 - Match 14 – Spirit vs. Mind

Deadpool ripped a page out of his script, balled it up, and threw it at a passing camera drone. He did a quick backflip and landed back in his swivel chair, grinning under his mask.

"Change of plans, tum! You're the director, and I'm just the guy in the tight suit! We're skipping the 'King of Curses' for now because we've got a real high-school showdown," Deadpool shouted, waving a glow-stick. "In one corner, the kid who looks like a mushroom but can toss a skyscraper like a frisbee! In the other, the delinquent who died, came back, and has a finger-gun that hits like a nuke! It's Mob vs. Yusuke!"

(yep does who didn't see the end part where I wrote ryomen sukuna but if you have read my list then you would have known or if you have read the whole round 1 I mean vol 4 then you would have known that neither sukuna nor yuji won)

The arena for Match 14 was a Deserted Japanese City at Sunset. The sky was a deep orange, and the long shadows of the buildings stretched across empty streets. There was no wind, just a heavy silence.

Heimdall sat on top of a water tank on a rooftop. "Semi-Finals Match Fourteen! The middle-school psychic, Shigeo 'Mob' Kageyama! Versus the Spirit Detective, Yusuke Urameshi!"

The Slow Start

Mob stood in his plain black school uniform, looking very awkward. He fidgeted with his hands. "Um, I don't really want to fight. Maybe we could just talk?"

Yusuke laughed, pulling his green jacket off and tossing it aside. He had a wide, confident smirk. "Sorry, kid. In this world, you gotta show what you're made of! Don't worry, I'll try not to hurt you too bad."

Yusuke pointed his index finger. "Rei-gun!"

A massive blast of blue spirit energy tore through the air. Mob didn't move. A blue, glowing barrier appeared around him. The blast hit the shield and exploded, but Mob didn't even slide back an inch.

Pushing the Limit

Yusuke's eyes widened. "Okay, so you're not just some kid."

He charged forward, his fists glowing with Spirit Wave energy. He delivered a barrage of punches. Mob flew backward, using his telekinesis to stay in the air. Buildings around them began to crack as Mob's power started to leak out.

Mob's Progress towards 100%: 45%... 65%...

"Deadpool here, tum! Look at the counter!" the merc yelled. "Yusuke is a brawler! He's hitting Mob with everything he's got, but he's just making the kid more upset! And trust me, you don't want a sad psychic!"

Yusuke tapped into his demon blood. His hair grew longer, and dark markings appeared on his skin. He moved so fast he looked like a blur, hitting Mob with a "Spirit Mega-Gun" that leveled an entire city block.

100%

The dust cleared. Mob was standing in a crater. His school uniform was torn, and his bowl-cut hair was standing up. His eyes were glowing white, and the ground began to float.

100%... KINDNESS.

Mob didn't attack with a punch. He reached out his hand, and the very molecules of the air around Yusuke began to tighten. Yusuke tried to fire another blast, but Mob simply absorbed the energy. Mob moved his hand, and a massive skyscraper was ripped out of its foundation and swung like a bat.

Yusuke blocked it with his arms, but the psychic pressure was too much. Mob gathered all the debris in the city—cars, bricks, glass—and spun them into a giant tornado around Yusuke.

"I'm sorry," Mob whispered.

With a massive wave of his arm, Mob released the pressure. The psychic explosion pushed Yusuke through three buildings and into the river. Yusuke tried to stand, his demon energy fading, but he simply didn't have the strength left to fight the invisible weight of Mob's mind. He slumped over, a small smile on his face. "Tough... kid."

"Match Fourteen winner... MOB!" Heimdall announced, as the floating buildings slowly drifted back to the ground.

Up in the booth, Deadpool was trying to use a spoon to bend a metal plate. "I can't do it, tum! I don't have the brain-power! Mob just proved that nice guys finish first... as long as they have god-like psychic powers!"

Deadpool checked the updated board. "That's fourteen legends through! We're over the halfway mark of the Semi-Finals!"
