"Is this the place?" Liuying whispered, staring up at the newly built museum. "The one where they're storing the Stellaron?"
"…There are so many people. Did Luofu really find a way to suppress it? They're acting this confident—aren't they afraid it'll explode?"
In name it was a museum. In practice, it was closer to a temporary laboratory that happened to allow public visits—an exhibition hall wrapped around a controlled containment site.
"That's the point," Wei Qing replied casually. "With two Genius Society members involved, suppressing a Stellaron isn't impossible."
In the original timeline, Herta did develop techniques for controlling Stellarons sooner or later. If anything, Luofu had simply dragged the schedule forward.
Liuying frowned, eyes fixed on the guards and the faint shimmer of defensive barriers near the entrance. "I still think they're being way too smug. What if we just… you know. Launch a terror attack."
Wei Qing paused.
Liuying's eyes widened a little. She lowered her voice even further, as if saying it quietly made it less insane. "So… are we launching a terror attack?"
"…No." Wei Qing coughed. "I'm an elegant Knight of Beauty right now. Not a terrorist."
He glanced at her sideways, mildly baffled.
He'd been trying to teach this little firefly a healthy worldview. Yet here she was—shy in public, and casually suggesting "terror attack" in private, exactly like the future "Sam" rumors he'd heard about.
Which part of his education plan had failed?
He let out a quiet breath and refocused on the situation.
"Luofu made such a huge spectacle that it might as well say PLEASE WALK INTO MY TRAP on the front door. If we charge in headfirst, aren't we disrespecting the effort they put into the bait?"
"Then what are we doing?" Liuying asked, honestly confused.
Wei Qing lifted the temporary pass they'd obtained after "strict" verification and waved it with righteous confidence.
"We're on vacation. So we're going in as tourists to enjoy the exhibit."
They joined the crowd.
The security was absurd—stricter than the entry screening at the Divination Commission by several orders of magnitude. Identity jade tokens were checked. Then came multiple layers of energy scans, rune-pattern sweeps, and symbol-based inspections. There was even a professional diviner seated to the side, eyes closed, sensing for anomalies with meditative patience.
Wei Qing and Liuying submitted to every check without a flinch.
If the Qiongguan Array couldn't see through them, these standard procedures were just… ceremony.
Past the entrance, the interior space was far larger than the exterior suggested—clearly using spatial folding. The central hall opened into a vast circular gallery with a transparent ring platform at its heart.
And there it was.
A fist-sized, dark crystal suspended in midair inside a nest of overlapping defense arrays—layers upon layers of containment patterns flowing with light, pulsing with a controlled, ominous pressure.
The Stellaron.
Visitors packed the outer viewing line—Luofu locals and offworlders alike. They pointed and whispered, expressions mixing curiosity, awe, and fear.
"That's a Stellaron… it doesn't look that scary?"
"Are you kidding? I heard a single one can doom an entire planet! Luofu's insane for putting it on display!"
"Relax. Look at those arrays. And with Lady Herta and Lady Ruan Mei's tech, this is probably foolproof."
"Apparently the two Genius Society members show up sometimes… wonder if they'll appear today…"
Wei Qing's gaze passed through the crowd and settled on the Stellaron, eyes narrowing slightly.
He could feel it clearly—the pressure, the "weight" of it. The power inside was being forcibly restrained, compressed until it behaved like a caged beast… but it was still unmistakably real.
Luofu hadn't cheaped out.
This Stellaron was genuine.
A familiar, aged voice spoke from nearby.
"You two interested in the Stellaron as well?"
Wei Qing and Liuying turned.
Yingxing had appeared without fanfare, standing a short distance away, hands behind his back, eyes fixed on the suspended crystal. His gaze looked… complicated.
"Oh? Master Craftsman," Wei Qing greeted with an easy smile. "So you're here too. Naturally I'm interested. Such an object is… rare."
He spoke like a refined tourist, yet his words carried that peculiar "Knight of Beauty" flavor.
"Creation and destruction are separated by a single line," Wei Qing continued. "A Stellaron is a symbol of calamity, yes—but its existence is also the embodiment of extreme power. There's a kind of beauty to its… strength."
Yingxing finally looked at him, that old, time-worn stare sharpening.
"Beauty in strength?" he said slowly. "Kid, that sounds a lot like the kind of talk those thrill-seeking lunatics use. A Stellaron brings only suffering and ruin. What beauty is there?"
"Beauty lies in comprehension and control," Wei Qing replied smoothly, then gestured at the containment layers and the crowd.
"Left unchecked, it's disaster. But if wisdom and courage can bind it, study it, understand it—turn calamity into warning, destruction into lesson—then the intelligence and resolve on display is beautiful in its own right."
He paused, voice lifting into the solemn cadence of a Knight of Beauty.
"This is beauty beyond the superficial—beauty that cuts to the essence. A magnificent beauty, forged from power."
Liuying stood beside him with a straight face, working very hard not to laugh.
Yingxing stared at Wei Qing for a long moment, brows knitting tighter.
He couldn't exactly say out loud that Luofu hadn't built this "exhibit" for moral education.
In the end, he only exhaled—half sigh, half resignation.
"…You Knights of Beauty really do see the world from a unique angle."
He turned back to the Stellaron and fell silent again, as if he'd decided it wasn't worth arguing with whatever species of "pure-beauty logic" this was.
Wei Qing smiled and didn't press him further.
He led Liuying along the gallery route like an ordinary tourist, blending into the flow—slow steps, calm breathing, eyes taking everything in.
As though they weren't standing inside a trap deliberately built for them.
