The instant time began to flow again—
The arrow, condensed from Destruction and Hunt Path power, was already off the string, streaking straight toward Shuhu's forehead.
A heartbeat ago, Shuhu had still been basking in pleasure. He didn't even have time to understand what had happened before a lethal sense of danger stabbed into the deepest part of his instincts.
The primal will to live forced an extreme reaction.
Emerald light around him detonated outward. Layer after layer of pure life-force barriers stacked in front of him in an instant, desperately trying to block that ominous arrow—dark red and icy blue entwined.
But it was doomed from the start.
Riiip—!
Like a red-hot brand plunged into ice, the arrow tore through one barrier after another with almost no resistance.
"What?!"
Shuhu tried to evade—only to find the space around him bound by an invisible force. His movements turned unnaturally sluggish.
The shadow of death had never felt so thick.
At the last fraction of a moment, just before the arrow could bore through his skull, Shuhu let out a shrill, tearing screech.
The strand of Destruction aura inside him—something that did not belong to him—suddenly boiled, as if a fuse had been lit.
BOOM!!
A violent explosion erupted with Shuhu at its center.
Abundance, Destruction, and Hunt interwove in madness, forming a brutally destructive shockwave that swept across the surrounding space.
And this happened to be the very heart of the Borisin stronghold—nearby wolf-ships were shredded like paper under the impact.
At the blast's core, even space itself seemed to wail.
Wei Qing hovered beyond the shockwave, an invisible barrier around him casually deflecting everything. His clothes didn't even flutter.
His eyes stayed locked on the explosion's center.
He hadn't expected a single arrow to truly end an Abundance Emanator—especially one tainted with that bizarre trace of Destruction. What he wanted was to see how that hidden power would react when pushed to the brink.
As the aftershock faded, the scene inside finally became visible.
"Gah—!"
Shuhu let out a miserable howl. What remained of his body—over half of it gone—was a mass of frantic, writhing vegetation trying to regenerate. But the Destruction residue clinging to the wound stubbornly blocked regrowth, even gnawing at his vitality as it spread.
That strike… even Teng Xiao, the one who'd battled him for ages, probably couldn't have matched it without borrowing the General's divine spirit.
"Cough… cough…" Shuhu panted violently, his one remaining eye staring at Wei Qing in sheer horror. "Y-you… what did you do?! What kind of power was that?!"
He couldn't understand what had happened in that instant.
The entire situation had flipped in the blink of an eye. He hadn't even seen what the brat across from him had done.
Wei Qing didn't answer.
He simply raised his hand again—another Hunt light-arrow sliding onto the string. Cold killing intent pinned the heavily wounded Shuhu in place.
Where that bit of Destruction power on Shuhu came from didn't really matter. The goal was obvious: stir chaos, or probe Wei Qing's true depth.
In Shuhu's remaining eye, that newly formed arrow reflected like a sentence of execution. Never had the Hunt's shadow felt so real.
As an Abundance Emanator, he had almost forgotten what it felt like to be on the verge of death. The Merciful Medicus' blessing granted him near-immortal vitality and regeneration—no matter how severe the injury, it should have been restored in moments.
But now, that strange, domineering aura at the wound—like the most vicious curse—was devouring his life.
It still wasn't "fatal" to him…
But being forced to remain injured like this, continuously, was something he had never experienced in his entire existence.
What shook him even more was the opponent's utterly unreasonable method.
Time… had been stolen, for a moment.
"Hah—don't get cocky!" Shuhu roared. A being who had existed for thousands of years was not limited to this.
His remaining half-body suddenly swelled. Countless grotesque roots burst out, frantically draining life-force from everything around them—wreckage, debris… even the remains of Borisin wolf-ships.
That foreign Destruction trace seemed to be "activated" by the flood of vitality, fusing with Abundance in an uncanny way, becoming something even more violent.
"Hunt's pawn—behold the great power of the Merciful Medicus!"
Shuhu's voice twisted into fanaticism. His form began to undergo a horrifying transformation, no longer holding to that almost-human shape—
He became more like a flower of Abundance rooted in the void.
Rotten petals unfurled in an instant: a dark green vortex that devoured everything, radiating a presence that made souls tremble.
Meteors, debris, even the unlucky fragments of Borisin wolf-ships caught near it were swallowed without mercy, ground down and absorbed into the endlessly spinning, expanding "flower core" of death.
At the vortex's center, a point of absolute darkness began to brew—exuding destructive fluctuations far beyond anything before.
And within that darkness, the aura of the Destruction Path suddenly grew dense.
Wei Qing frowned slightly.
This wasn't orthodox Abundance power at all.
So Shuhu really had colluded with some Destruction Emanator?
"Die!"
Shuhu was about to strike—
But in the very next instant, time was stolen again, as if some heartless capitalist had ripped it out of the world.
That world-ending blow crashed down once more.
"Wha—?!" Shuhu's mad laughter cut off mid-syllable. In what might have been his "eye," disbelief exploded.
Blazing light swallowed the battlefield—brighter than before—turning vast stretches of the desolate space into daylight. The remaining Borisin wolf-ships were pulverized into dust under the shock.
Even the Cloud Knights' fleet far away felt the terrifying pressure. Their defensive barriers flickered violently.
"Hold it! Everyone, hold it!" Yingxing bellowed from the bridge, gripping the console with both hands. "What the hell is Wei Qing doing out there?!"
Shuhu's massive body was gone, replaced by nothing but shattered, charred plant matter.
His aura was crippled to the extreme—far worse than when he'd been heavily wounded by the first arrow.
This was the second time.
And he still hadn't been able to see how the other side did it.
But why?
Why the hell was this even possible?
Shuhu was so furious he practically wanted to swear aloud.
Twice.
Two whole times!
He hadn't even had a chance to react before that incomprehensible method crushed him on the spot.
It felt like time had been gouged out for no reason—and in the stolen span, his enemy calmly set up a perfect kill.
If the other side's method was truly this absurd…
Then what was the point of fighting?
How was this any different from someone blatantly cheating?
