Chapter 200 - Chapter 200: The Taste of a Robin

Without realizing it, their pace slowed down.

The afterglow of the setting sun stretched their shadows long across the ground, making them look as if they were intertwining.

An urge swelled within Aiden's heart. He reached out and gently, tentatively grasped the slender hand next to him.

In that moment, an indescribable sensation traveled through his palm.

Robin's fingers were long and soft, carrying a hint of the evening's coolness, her skin as fine as the highest-quality silk.

As his fingers slipped between hers and their hands tightly interlocked, Aiden felt a massive weight lift off his chest. A tremendous wave of joy and contentment instantly filled him.

He felt her tremble slightly, but she didn't pull away. The smile on his lips became impossible to hide.

Robin's heart skipped a beat.

She felt a warm, broad hand wrap around hers. The heat radiating from his palm, complete with the thin calluses from wielding a sword, felt so incredibly gentle.

A rush of heat traveled from her palm straight to her cheeks, painting her pale face with a faint layer of crimson.

She lowered her head shyly, not daring to look into Aiden's eyes, yet an unprecedented sense of security blossomed in her heart.

She didn't withdraw her hand. Instead, using the tiniest amount of force, she gently squeezed back.

"Come on, let me show you something nice."

Feeling that subtle response, Aiden's mood soared. Without leaving room for argument, he pulled Robin along, heading straight for the towering city walls of Orario.

They wound their way up the ancient stone steps. The wind howled in their ears, carrying the mixed scents of the city and the wilderness.

When they finally stood atop the broad city wall, the entire world seemed to unfold beneath their feet.

It was a magnificent canvas that rendered all words pale in comparison.

The sun was sinking into the distant horizon, dyeing half the sky in burning oranges and vivid purples. The layers of clouds looked as if a god had meticulously lined their edges with golden paint—gorgeous to the extreme.

Looking down, the massive Labyrinth City of Orario had already lit up for the night. Countless magic stone lamps twinkled like stars scattered across the earth, merging into a dazzling ocean of light.

The world-piercing Babel Tower stood as a solemn and majestic silhouette against the evening sky.

Beyond the walls, the endless plains and forests stretched into the unknown distance beneath the twilight, brimming with a raw, untamed allure.

Robin was utterly captivated by the scenery before her. She stared intently, her beautiful eyes shimmering with a dazed, awe-struck light, as if trying to etch this moment permanently into her soul.

The last rays of the sunset spilled down, freezing their tightly joined figures into an eternal silhouette.

Aiden turned his head, quietly watching Robin.

The remaining light acted as a master painter, tracing the perfect contours of her side profile with the softest golden hues.

The evening breeze blew gently, playfully sweeping a few strands of silver-purple hair across her flawless cheek. Her long, curled eyelashes cast faint shadows over her lake-green eyes.

She was looking so intently, as if trying to capture all the beauty in the world.Yet, in Aiden's eyes at this very moment, she was the most beautiful scenery in the world. Perhaps feeling his burning gaze, Robin slowly turned her head, her eyes meeting his.

Time seemed to freeze in that instant.

Looking into those green eyes that seemed to hold an entire lake of stars, Aiden's gaze unconsciously drifted downward, lingering on her delicate nose before finally settling on those plump, red lips that resembled blooming spring cherry blossoms.

An inexplicable urge swept through his limbs like a wildfire.

His mouth felt dry, and his heart hammered in his chest like a drum.

He slightly lowered his head, following the deepest desire in his soul, and slowly leaned in.

Robin's eyes widened abruptly, her heartbeat spiraling out of control, practically leaping out of her throat.

Thump, thump, thump... The powerful, rapid beating of the heart made it impossible for her to tell if it was her own or if it was radiating from him.

Instinct urged her to retreat, her slender legs in their heels subconsciously taking a tiny step back.

But in the next second, a powerful arm shot out like lightning, wrapping securely around her slim waist.

"Ah!"

She let out a short gasp as she lost her balance, tumbling into a fiery, solid embrace.

She looked up, meeting a pair of eyes that seemed to burn with blue fire. The surging possessiveness in them threatened to swallow her whole.

Aiden's breathing grew ragged and scorching. He stared down at the girl in his arms, who looked like a startled deer, using every ounce of his strength to suppress the urge to just kiss her immediately.

"Robin," his voice was hoarse with extreme longing, dripping with magnetism. "May I?"

Robin's ears burned scarlet in an instant. She subconsciously raised a hand, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear—a subtle motion that only added to her indescribable allure.

She didn't answer. Instead, under the intense gaze of those burning eyes, she slowly, gently closed her lake-green eyes, tilting her snow-white neck back in a graceful arc.

The silence spoke volumes more than words ever could.

A flash of wild joy crossed Aiden's eyes. He hesitated no longer, lowering his head to gently and tenderly capture those sweet lips.

Soft, warm, and carrying her unique fragrance.

Robin's body trembled slightly, a barely audible moan slipping from her throat. Her instinct told her to resist, but that resistance felt incredibly pale and weak against Aiden's forceful invasion.

Soon, her resistance melted into helpless surrender.

That sturdy line of defense was easily pried open, her nowhere-to-hide pink tongue aggressively captured, chased, and greedily claimed.

Her breathing grew increasingly rapid, her cheeks flushed so red they looked as if they might bleed.

A lack of oxygen and an unfamiliar, thrilling numbness spread through her body, leaving her completely weak.

She couldn't help but reach up, her hands tightly wrapping around Aiden's neck as if grasping her only lifeline.

Standing slightly on her tiptoes, she awkwardly but earnestly responded to his dominant yet gentle possession.

The sun finally sank completely below the horizon, leaving behind only the last strokes of a brilliant sunset.

Atop the city wall, two silhouettes overlapped tightly, as if trying to meld into one another's flesh and blood, never to be parted.

Realizing that Robin was struggling for breath in his arms, Aiden reluctantly ended the long kiss.

The moment their lips parted, a glistening silver thread flashed briefly in the dying light.

"Hah... Haaah..."

Robin's beautiful face was as red as a ripe apple. She leaned against Aiden's chest, her chest heaving violently as she gasped greedily for fresh air.

"What a... what a strange feeling," she murmured to herself, trying to regulate her breathing while resting one hand over her wildly pounding heart.

"Yeah," Aiden gently rested his forehead against hers, their noses touching as they felt each other's scorching breath. His voice was full of satisfaction and intoxication. "This is my first time knowing... that the taste of a little bird... is so incredibly addicting."

After saying that, like a junkie who had just tasted his fix, he couldn't hold back any longer. Eagerly, he captured those already slightly swollen, soft lips once more, initiating the second round.

"Mmph..." Robin rolled her eyes adorably in exasperation, but her body was remarkably obedient as she wrapped her arms around his neck once again.

On the ground, the elongated shadows merged tightly together once more.

With a faint blush still painting her cheeks, Robin reached out with her slender fingers, gently pressing against Aiden's chest to push him back slightly.

"That's enough... It's getting really late."

Her voice was soft, carrying a trace of imperceptible shyness. "If we don't head back soon, Tifa and the others will get worried."
