Chapter 21: Astonishing Status Increase

The green-haired elf, a waitress at a certain tavern...

As these keywords combined, a name instantly surfaced from the depths of his memory—"Gale" Ryuu Lion. Immediately after, he thought of the divine authority Furina held—Water and Justice. Ryuu Lion's former patron deity, Goddess Astraea, also happened to be the Goddess of Justice and Order. It seemed that the shared domain of "Justice" had sparked a natural affinity in Ryuu toward Furina, leading her to extend her care to this seemingly clumsy little goddess.

The threads of fate always seemed to weave people together in the most inadvertent ways. But these were just interludes. After dinner, the real business began.

"Furina, could you help me update my Status?" Aiden asked.

Furina nodded, putting away her playful demeanor as her expression turned serious. They entered the room. Aiden took off his shirt, revealing a lean, capable upper body, and turned his back to her. Furina pricked her fingertip, squeezing out a drop of blood rich with divine power, and carefully let it fall onto his back. As the ichor merged with his skin, complex patterns and hieroglyphs seemed to awaken, emitting a faint blue glow.

When the light faded and the changes in his Status became clear, Furina couldn't help but cover her mouth in shock.

[Aiden]

Lv.1

Strength: I 0 → I 75

Endurance: I 0 → I 73

Dexterity: I 0 → I 78

Agility: I 0 → I 81

Magic: I 0

Aiden took the parchment, saw the stats listed, and revealed a satisfied expression. He then exited the room, and it was Robin's turn for a Status update.

[Robin]

Lv.1

Strength: I 0 → I 8

Endurance: I 0 → I 9

Dexterity: I 0 → I 12

Agility: I 0 → I 11

Magic: I 0 → I 70

"You two... this is just too amazing!"

Furina was incredibly proud of their growth speed. Although she only had a partial understanding of adventurer matters, she had heard Artemis mention it before.

"I heard Artemis say that her children grow the fastest at the very beginning. A single adventure might raise their stats by a few dozen points. But it gets slower later on; sometimes a whole trip only yields a few points..."

Furina's tone was filled with smug satisfaction.

"You've only been in the Dungeon for half a day, yet Robin's stats went up by over a hundred points, and Aiden... yours combined increased by over three hundred! As expected of my Familia, simply in a league of their own."

Furina placed her hands on her hips, the corners of her mouth nearly curling up to the sky.

Aiden was also pleased. He looked at Robin, who was equally pleasantly surprised, and spoke softly. "It seems our skill combination is even more effective than anticipated."

Trailblazer allowed him to increase his experience gain efficiency when exploring, while Abyss Gazed Back caused the Dungeon to spawn otherworldly monsters, effectively allowing him to "explore" new threats repeatedly. And Robin's skill, Tonal Resonance, increased experience efficiency for both of them when fighting side by side. With all these buffs stacked, it resulted in Aiden gaining over three hundred stat points and Robin gaining over one hundred in a single run.

Level 1 was naturally the fastest growth phase for adventurers. Coupled with their significant experience-boosting skills, this speed was actually well within his calculations. He knew the rules of stat growth well. The five basic abilities required corresponding actions to improve. To raise Strength, one must clash head-on with monsters. To raise Endurance, one must take hits. To raise Dexterity and Agility, one must constantly dodge and move. And to raise Magic, one must use spells.

Today, Aiden acted as the main combatant, engaging in close-quarters combat with Hilichurls and Slimes the entire time—dodging, parrying, and counterattacking. He had pushed his body's potential to the limit, so aside from Magic, his four physical stats saw considerable growth. But because he hadn't used a single spell, his Magic stat remained at zero. Conversely, Robin stayed safely in the rear under Aiden's comprehensive protection. Her only action was chanting and casting magic for support. Therefore, aside from her skyrocketing Magic stat, her physical attributes saw little growth.

"It seems I'll need to start using magic in our future adventures," Aiden said with a smile, rotating his slightly sore shoulder.

It wasn't that he didn't have magic; the intensity of today's combat simply hadn't left him any breathing room to try it. To improve himself in all aspects, training his magic was an indispensable step. Looking at his four balanced physical attributes, he felt he had the potential to become a "perfect all-rounder"—an adventurer with absolutely no weaknesses.

In Orario, most adventurers had a specialization. Dwarves excelled in strength, Beast People in speed or endurance, and Elves in magic. Their growth tended to lean heavily toward their racial talents. Someone like Aiden, who could advance in all areas simultaneously, was rare. As for Robin, Aiden had absolutely no intention of making her train her other stats. The mere thought of Robin brandishing that elegant staff to engage in brutal melee combat with monsters made his eyes hurt. More importantly, he couldn't bear to see it.

Robin's role was that of a top-tier support; there was no need for her to specifically train her frail strength and endurance. Besides, as an adventurer leveled up, their body would undergo a qualitative sublimation. Even a physically weak mage, after leveling up, could easily beat a lower-level power-type adventurer black and blue with just their staff.

All in all, today was a day worth celebrating. They had earned their first pot of gold since the Familia's founding, their stat improvements were gratifying, and even their Goddess Furina had made a new friend. Everything was developing in a good direction.

At this rate of growth, Aiden was absolutely confident he could max out his stats within a month and reach Level 2. When that happened, he would shatter the record held by the "Sword Princess" Ais Wallenstein of the Loki Familia, who took one year to go from Level 1 to Level 2.

Of course, even if he did level up, Aiden's public explanation would be that he had received Falna and adventured for a long time outside Orario before coming to the city. This would conceal his shocking growth speed. After all, Orario never lacked jealous adventurers or Gods who loved chaos and entertainment. If he really caused a worldwide sensation, all sorts of trouble would inevitably follow.
