Chapter 6 - The Creation Of A Core

Laniakea had a shocked expression on his face as a book regarding Aura was something he had only ever dreamed of. He opened to the first page and started reading, determined to fully comprehend the text no matter how many times he had to read it. "Aura is a requirement for all knights. One cannot become a knight without being able to utilize it, even if only a little. But what exactly is Aura? Everyone knows it is needed to be a knight, but surprisingly, only people connected to a noble are able to learn it, without struggle" the first few lines of the book read. Laniakea continued reading and was surprised to see an explanation of Aura. He quietly muttered it to himself: "Aura is only usable when one possesses an Aura Heart. It was referred to as the 'Iron-Heart' in old times, but it is now called the Aura Heart. But how do you awaken it? There are only three ways. First, and the most common way, is by using an elixir, which is how nobles or their knights do it. The second, and technically easiestis, by guiding energy to the heart and creating it on your own. It may be simple in theory, but it is definitely the most painful, as instead of using an elixir to guide the Aura from your heart to your veins, you are doing the opposite guiding the usually small amount of Aura to your heart to create a core inside of your physical heart. Then, the last method involves awakening it on the battlefield as a defense mechanism. If you fight in a war and receive a fatal wound, or are determined to return alive, your body creates it on its own to protect itself." Laniakea knew that he wasn't anywhere near affording an elixir, nor was he able to go to the battlefield because he was still a small child. The only option left was to guide the Aura from his veins to his heart but he wondered how to do that. "Ah, there it is! A manual! So, what I have to do is enter a state of concentration and try to bring it to my solar plexus? But why there? Isn't it an Aura Heart?" He continued reading and realized his question would have been answered had he just kept going. "So, I have to bring it to the solar plexus in order to clean it of impurities and inject the energy of my soul to fully awaken an Aura Heart. Well, now I can see why everyone who isn't from a noble family fails. Okay, then, let's start!" Laniakea guided the energy from the tips of his fingers and ends of his toes to the center of his solar plexus. He felt a sharp surge of pain as he pulled it there, but he still had more to do as he had to purify it and inject his soul into it. "Wait, what is this? Once it entered my core, it stopped hurting. Wasn't this supposed to be the most painful step? Well, better for me, I guess." Laniakea felt extreme ease while purifying the energy and was finished in just a few minutes. He took a deep breath and continued. Now, all he had to do was inject some of his soul energy. If the soul energy was insufficient, he would have to wait for it to replenish and then start over. "What the! What is this? This is the liquid I drank when I fell into the pond!" Instead of using only his soul energy, he found himself using that strange liquid that seemed to have bonded with his soul. "Wait, this is too much! I only used a drop of it, yet it feels like my core is about to explode. Shouldn't it make more sense for it to be insufficient? How is it already overflowing?" Laniakea let out a yell filled with pain as it felt like his chest was about to burst.
