Adelyn remembered Ford.
She wasn't hearing his name for the first time. She knew he was the man who usually drove Dylan around.
But hearing Eira mention him in their conversation still confused her.
She stared at the little girl, waiting for her to explain.
Little Eira blinked her eyes at her once before slowly saying, "It was Uncle Ford who checked on your condition last night. And Eira didn't hear him say that if Mama's temperature went down, then her wound would heal too."
The furrow between Adelyn's brows deepened.
For a second, she couldn't quite understand what the little girl meant.
But when she thought about it again, something finally clicked.
"You mean it was Ford who came to check on me?"
Eira paused for a second before nodding.
"Dada asked Uncle Ford to come and look at you."
Confusion flickered through Adelyn's eyes again.
Wasn't Ford the driver?
Why would he come to check on her?
