Since Adelyn returned, Eira didn't leave her side for even a moment.
Nor did Adelyn ask her to.
Instead, she scooped the little girl back into her arms and carried her upstairs.
Carefully setting her down on the bed, she smiled.
"How about you stay here and play for a while? I'll quickly go and freshen up."
Eira considered it seriously for a second before nodding to her.
"Eira will wait for Mama," she said.
Adelyn smiled and gently ruffled her soft hair. "Good. Then I'll be quick."
With that, she headed toward the walk-in closet to grab a fresh set of comfortable clothes for the night.
However ... the moment she stepped inside, her footsteps came to an abrupt halt.
Her pupils dilated ever so slightly.
The spacious glass wardrobe that was nearly empty before was now filled with clothes she had never seen before.
There were comfortable home clothes, elegant dresses, casual outfits, and even several formal pieces.
None of them looked cheap.
