Placing his hands over his hips, Karl looked at his brothers.
"Of course, favorite," he said with a smug face. "Didn't you just see? An offense that would have cost someone else their life; I was only charged with a six-month allowance cut. If I weren't his favorite, would I have been let off the hook so easily?"
Jasper rolled his eyes.
And Felix couldn't help but shake his head at his younger brother's delusion.
"What? You don't believe me?" Karl asked when noticed their expressions.
Felix placed a hand on his shoulder and patted it gently.
"Now even I think we have more important matters to focus on," he said calmly. "Let's decide this another time. Okay?"
Karl understood the underlying meaning of his words and opened his mouth to argue.
But once again, he found himself at the loss for words.
"Fine. Let's focus on what's important," he said at last.
