Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Zeri's Mother

Looking at the things Faen handed over, Zeri scratched her head and asked with a bewildered face, "This... what is all this?"

"Some simple regulations." Faen said with some emotion, "I heard this from some seniors before. It can be considered a coincidence; in all of Runeterra, Zaun and Piltover should be considered the most suitable places for this action program."

Most of these things Faen summarized came from memories of his past life—or rather, revolutionary experiences summarized by predecessors in constant trial and error.

Adopting the idea of adapting to local conditions, Faen made corresponding deletions based on his understanding of Zaun's situation and its relationship with Piltover.

These deletions might not make this program better or more perfect, but could avoid some mistakes... The root cause was that this world had supernatural powers. A strong person here could really destroy a city or a country single-handedly.

This was a bad thing, but also a good thing. The bad thing naturally didn't need much explanation; who knows which ancient existence might wake up and cause forced destruction one day. But the good thing was that Faen was also a beneficiary of this supernatural rule—

The vast majority of strong people lived in seclusion. Especially for low-magic city-states like Zaun and Piltover, the only things worth Faen's vigilance were the Wild Runes in Arcane and the hidden dangers buried in the Darkin Warlord era. apart from these things, Faen only needed to be a little careful in other aspects to maintain the operation of this system at all times.

The biggest problem with this program is that those in power gradually become corrupt, and the dragon slayer becomes the evil dragon. But Faen didn't have to worry at all... The Joy Curse was Faen's burden, but also the source of Faen's power.

The core purpose of this program was to make the people here feel happy, hopeful, and joyful. This didn't conflict with Faen, and was also some of Faen's selfishness.

Thinking this, Faen pointed to the proposal and said:

"Continuing to destroy factories is not feasible, because these factories are also the livelihood of Zaun's slaves and Zaun itself. We need to target the Chem-Barons and their running dogs. And these things... we distribute them first. We don't need everyone to approve, but let them know."

"Then what should we do?" Zeri asked curiously, "Just distribute flyers?"

"No, it's to respond." Faen said, "Remember what I told those workers last night? As long as they ask for help, we will respond. Let the workers know someone is standing up for them, and let those Chem-Barons know there is a pair of eyes watching them."

"Uh... sounds like still causing destruction? Using violence or something?" Zeri wasn't sure if she was right.

Faen directly affirmed Zeri's guess: "Yes, it is violence. The base color of any order needs to be maintained by violence. And after all... the most presentable thing we two have is violence."

Faen showed his fist: "So if we can solve problems with the fists we are best at, why use other methods?"

"Don't quite understand, but I like this saying!" Zeri grinned and said, "Anyway, you seem to understand much more than me... not bad! How can you say you're not good at it! I see you are clearly very good at this!"

"I'm just standing on the shoulders of giants." Faen shrugged. "In actual operation, we need to unite many people so that we can constantly correct mistakes."

Faen's position for himself in this system was by no means a leader, but a supervisor. Because Faen knew he wasn't a saint, couldn't be an opinion leader, and even had many bad habits that could be called terrible, and Faen couldn't stay in Zaun forever...

Through the Joy Curse, Faen could detect problems in time. And more importantly—he was strong enough.

In case of irreversible mistakes, Faen had enough confidence to destroy and rebuild—this sounded like a philosopher king who liked to solve problems with violence.

To put it another way.

Be the sun.

What, you Upper City can have Noxian garrisons, us Zaun can't have a sun? I'll even prepare the Super Mega Death Rocket for you later.

Ultimately, violence was Faen's greatest advantage in the Twin Cities.

Since it was a useful advantage, naturally he should use it more.

Past the age of learning, no longer urgently needing more knowledge to broaden horizons, in this situation... if he could stay in his comfort zone, why step out?

Although Zeri had noble wishes, her age was there. Looking at these things Faen organized, although she didn't understand very clearly, she could feel it was indeed more convincing than her simple idea of "overthrowing Chem-Barons".

Thinking this, Zeri nodded and said, "I believe you, then let's work hard together next! Overthrow the Chem-Barons! Make Zaun full of joy!"

Looking at Zeri's brilliantly smiling face, a smile also appeared on the corner of Faen's mouth. But then, Faen said:

"Then, let's talk about our future base."

"Base? Uh... didn't we agree just now?" Zeri scratched her head and said, "Just rooms and stuff..."

Looking at Faen in confusion.

Zeri knew Faen wasn't someone who liked to go back on his word. Especially on this kind of issue... Although shameful, Zeri could feel Faen should still like doing those things with her. Faen liked it, she didn't mind, so it shouldn't be a room problem?

Thinking this, Zeri blinked and asked, "Does Faen have a preferred location?"

"Mmhmm." Faen nodded, then pointed to the document in front of him and said:

"We need to unite people who can be united, reclaim the future Zaunites deserve together with Zaunites, and let the people of Zaun feel joy and hope. It is precisely because of this that our secret base actually doesn't need to be so hidden or mysterious, because the people are our best camouflage. Including those workers in chemical factories, they are all our potential supporters."

"And..." Pursing his lips, Faen said, "And Zeri, your magic actually isn't a secret. Chem-Barons can find the district you came from very quickly if they want to investigate. So we hide in the district you came from... what do you think?"

Hearing this, Zeri froze, then looked at Faen hesitantly and said, "Meaning... go to my mom's place?"

"Mmhmm."

Faen nodded.

Receiving confirmation, Zeri didn't act shy upon hearing about parents like ordinary girls. Poor children mature early, especially coming from a chaotic place like Zaun.

After learning Faen's idea, Zeri thought for a moment, then said, "Of course I have no objection... Rather, if my mom knew you, Faen, she would definitely be happy for me. After all, it's not easy to find a reliable person in Zaun. You are so excellent, my mom will definitely be happy for me once she understands your character and ability."

"I'm just worried, will my mom and others think I'm messing around..."

Zeri looked at the document in her hand with some worry, bit her lip and said, "I'm afraid I did wrong again, just like those workers last night... I don't want everyone in the district to be afraid of me too."

Looking at Zeri's worry about disappointing the worker brothers in the district, Faen blinked, then rubbed Zeri's head and said, "Your mom will definitely be proud of you."

"Hope so."

Zeri seemed to lack confidence.

After eating, Faen followed Zeri all the way down, and soon arrived at a district.

"Zeri?!" Not long after entering the district, someone recognized Zeri, the 'celebrity' of this district.

"Hey, long time no see." Seeing a friend from the district, Zeri greeted somewhat awkwardly.

Although looking lively and active, in the eyes of the adults in the district, Zeri was actually always a mischievous kid—the so-called 'celebrity' was mostly derogatory.

Not that Zeri's character was bad, or that they were hostile to mages... this wasn't Demacia.

Simply put, before Zeri mastered her ability, every time her emotions ran high, the jumping electric sparks would cause a series of chain reactions. Like overloading street lights, burning out circuits, etc.

Fortunately, Zeri's mother was also a mechanic, and the damage caused by Zeri would be repaired for free. Otherwise, even if Zeri wasn't driven away by the people in the district, she would be arranged to a remote corner. After all, people here were generally not wealthy. There might be only a few electrical appliances in a family, and no one wanted them destroyed.

"Where's my mom? Where is she now?" Zeri asked.

"Auntie Soona is still at the old place, but after the earthquake, the original workshop became a cave dwelling. Go find her quickly, Auntie has been very worried." The girl who knew Zeri winked at Zeri and said, "We all heard what you did... Good job! Kick those Chem-Barons' butts hard! We all support you! Go for it!"

Hearing the girl's words, a look of surprise appeared on Zeri's face, seemingly surprised by the reaction of friends in the district—actually before Faen reminded her, she thought her disguise was pretty good and rarely let others notice her face.

But now it seemed, just as Faen said, actually for the friends in the district, they had guessed it long ago.

After all, ability was one aspect. More importantly, this was indeed something Zeri would do.

Feeling the support of friends, Zeri felt a wave of warmth in her heart, and even subconsciously looked back at Faen to share this joy in her heart.

Noticing Faen behind Zeri, the girl asked curiously, "This is..."

"He is my boyfriend!" Zeri grinned and said, "He helped me a lot during this time! Now that we're back, just right to take him to show my mom!"

"Oh oh! So that's how it is." Hearing this, looking at Faen, the girl blinked, then said with approval, "Tall and strong, and handsome too... No wonder Zeri fancied him. Alright, I still have things to do, won't disturb you guys, go find Auntie Soona quickly, she's been talking about you all this time!"

Hearing the girl's words, Zeri said goodbye with a smile, then happily reached out to pat Faen's chest, making a steady and powerful sound.

"You were actually right."

"Right about what?" Faen raised an eyebrow.

"What I did!" Zeri smiled and said, "I was worried that friends in the district would stay away from me! Chalk one up for you!"

"Just chalking one up? No reward?" Faen winked at Zeri.

"Pushing your luck!" almost immediately realizing what Faen was saying, soft flesh squirmed, slight wetness came from below, but already used to her body's desire for Faen, Zeri could maintain mental rationality while her body reacted and went into heat, humming, "Wait until tonight!"

While speaking, Zeri pulled Faen's hand all the way to their family workshop.

This place just had an earthquake and collapse due to excessive mining by Chem-Barons not long ago. Even with the people in the district cleaning up together, Faen could still see many ruins of rock walls and houses.

Crossing the street, soon, under Zeri's lead, Faen arrived at a naturally formed mountain cave dwelling.

It could be seen that this place should have been established not long ago, and the rock walls were new, likely generated after the earthquake. Inside the room in the cave dwelling, only various mechanical parts and mechanical scraps identified as still usable were placed.

It was still morning, not yet the busiest time, so there was only one person busy in the shop. Wearing goggles, bending over, holding a welding torch flashing successively in hand, seemingly repairing something—that should be Zeri's mother, Soona.

In Faen's observation, Zeri's mother should be around forty years old, her eyebrows and eyes 70% similar to Zeri's, hair brown instead of Zeri's fluorescent color soaked by magic. Perhaps for convenience of work, Soona tied her hair behind her head into a braid, looking exceptionally capable.

However, compared to the tiny Zeri, Zeri's mother appeared very large, about 1.82 meters tall. Also due to work, the muscle contours on her body were clearer; she was literally a big hulk. Feeling like if she put on armor, she could turn into a wall of steel...

No wonder, after all, in a chaotic place like Zaun, presumably only such a tough body could raise Zeri safely single-handedly.

These muscles were almost catching up to Dr. Mundo... just flesh-colored. Looks like the dosage wasn't as ruthless as Mundo's.

Just as Faen was thinking, Zeri on the side shouted, "Mom, I'm back!"

Hearing this, the busy woman froze slightly, then quickly looked at Zeri. Lifting her goggles, revealing that weather-beaten face, a look of surprise appeared in her eyes.

"Zeri! You're finally back! I couldn't find you right after the earthquake ended, do you know how worried I was!"

Seeing the front face of Zeri's mother, Faen nodded quietly.

Zeri's mother's face was somewhat similar to Ana from Overwatch, just that the muscles were bigger blocks, the kind that could send Doomfist flying directly.
