Chapter 53 - Season 3 – Chapter 17 – “Phase Two”

The night felt different.

Not quiet.

Not calm.

Just… waiting.

Meher stood by her hotel window, staring at the city lights.

Everything had changed in just a few days.

The fellowship.

The people.

Even herself.

She wasn't the same girl who came here to write.

Now—

She was part of something much bigger.

And much more dangerous.

Her phone buzzed.

Unknown number.

She stared at it for a moment… then opened the message.

"Phase Two has begun."

Her heartbeat stopped for a second.

"What does that even mean…" she whispered.

At the same time—

Aarav's phone rang.

Rishan.

"Aarav, listen carefully," he said urgently.

"They've started moving."

"What happened?" Aarav asked.

"Two writers from the program… they've been removed overnight. No explanation. Their work is gone. Profiles deleted."

Aarav's grip tightened.

"They're making an example," Rishan said.

Back in her room—

Meher tried to open her laptop.

Her files…

Wouldn't load.

Her folder—

Empty.

Her breath caught.

"No… no, this can't be…"

Everything she had written.

Gone.

She tried refreshing again and again.

Nothing.

Her work.

Her words.

Her identity.

Erased.

Tears filled her eyes—but this time, not out of weakness.

Out of anger.

"They think they can scare me?" she whispered.

A knock on the door.

She froze.

Slowly, she walked toward it.

"Aarav?" she called softly.

No response.

The knock came again.

Louder.

She opened the door slightly.

No one there.

Just an envelope on the floor.

Her hands trembled as she picked it up.

Inside—

A single line.

"This is only the beginning."

Across the city—

Aarav rushed toward her hotel.

His mind racing.

"They're targeting her directly now," he muttered.

Inside the building—

A man watched the CCTV screen.

Calm.

Unbothered.

"Let her fight," he said softly.

"It makes the story more interesting."

Back in her room—

Meher stood still.

Fear, anger, and determination clashing inside her.

Then—

She wiped her tears.

Picked up her phone.

And called Aarav.

This time—

She didn't hesitate.

She didn't hold back.

"Aarav…" her voice shook slightly.

"They've started."

Aarav stopped walking.

"I know," he said.

A pause.

Then—

"We fight back," she whispered.

Silence.

Then Aarav replied—

"Together."

Outside, thunder cracked loudly across the sky.

The storm had returned.

Stronger.

Darker.

And this time—

They weren't running from it.

They were stepping into it.
