"Mora Mouse?"
Paimon's eyes lit up, staring in shock.
No matter how she thought about it, it sounded like Jensen basically did not need to do anything every day, just lie in a pile of Mora while the pile kept growing on its own.
Was that not exactly her ultimate life dream?
"It is a kind of mouse that spits out Mora," Jensen explained casually.
"Wow!"
Paimon immediately rushed over and hugged his leg tightly. "Lord Jensen, please keep us too!"
Lumine's pretty face flushed slightly when she heard that, but she did not panic. Anyone with a brain would know Paimon's words were not meant to be taken seriously.
Jensen shook his leg a couple of times and failed to shake her off.
"I said it was before. Right now I make money from Good Hunter's business," he said.
"How many, how many Mora did those Mora Mice spit out?" Paimon asked, eyes shining with desperate curiosity.
Amber, utterly speechless, grabbed her by the back of her cape and dragged her away, answering for Jensen, "Obviously he released them all."
"Released?!"
Paimon could not understand this at all.
Those were walking money machines that could let her do absolutely nothing while her Mora stacked up higher and higher every day!
"Of course."
Amber leaned closer, voice full of drama. "Guess how many bandit groups Jensen had to drive off back then."
"If he did not release them, it would not just be the bandits from Mondstadt and Liyue, even the bandit gangs in every other nation in Teyvat would all fix their eyes on him."
She continued, "But thanks to all those bandits targeting Jensen, security in both Mondstadt and Liyue was unbelievably good at the time."
"Eh, it was that dangerous?" Paimon squeaked.
"In the future, you might run into Mora Mice out in the wild," Jensen added lightly. "You will see them for yourselves when that happens."
Then he turned his gaze to Lumine. "Come on, I will give you a set of equipment."
"This..."
Lumine hesitated for a moment.
"Lumine, go already!"
Paimon urged her on. "Normal people never get this kind of opportunity!"
"Yeah, Jensen is really taking special care of Lumine," Amber added with a hint of envy.
Having fought side by side against bandits who knew how many times, Jensen had always been one of Amber's personal heroes.
"If you want one too, Amber, I will give you a set later as well," Jensen said.
He needed to level up, and Amber was one of the people he planned to cultivate anyway.
Use her just to shoot explosive barrels and trigger mechanisms like in the game?
No way.
This was not the game, there was no four person party limit. The more people he cultivated, the more fighting strength he had.
"Great, thank you, Jensen!"
Amber said happily, grabbing Paimon out of the air and giving her cheeks another gleeful squeeze.
"Why am I getting bullied again?!"
Paimon wrestled free and floated off, cheeks puffed up in protest.
"Lumine."
Jensen called from the loft doorway.
"Mm, coming."
Lumine hurried after him with light steps, eyes wandering around the spacious loft in open admiration.
Although everyone called it a loft, in reality it was the third floor of Good Hunter, just with a floor area only half the size of the second floor.
High grade wooden flooring and inner walls, windows that let the breeze through, and bright skylights above, just stepping inside made a person relax and breathe more easily.
Lumine almost wanted to stretch lazily on the spot.
There were four rooms on this level. The corridor was narrow, only wide enough for one person at a time. On one side was the largest room, the one that belonged to Good Hunter's boss, Jensen.
Lumine did not go in immediately. Instead, she took a few steps forward and peeked around the turn in the corridor, noticing two more doors and, at the far end behind a hanging curtain, what was probably the bathroom.
One of the doors had a purple sigil carved into it, which piqued her curiosity.
"Whoa! Is it this one, is it this one?"
Paimon had already rushed in ahead of her and flung herself onto a treasure chest, wrapping her arms around it like a tiny dragon guarding its hoard.
Lumine had no choice but to push down her urge to study that purple sigil, and followed them into the room.
"Mm."
Jensen sat down on the sofa to one side. "These are pieces of equipment I no longer use. I have just been storing them."
"Then I will open it," Lumine said.
"Wait..."
Jensen had just opened his mouth to warn them when Paimon, unable to hold back any longer, flipped open the chest.
A surge of elemental energy burst out, roaring up from the long sealed chest.
The little mascot's small body was blown straight into the ceiling with a solid thud, then dropped to the floor in a heap.
"Ah! Ow ow ow!"
"Are you alright?"
Lumine picked her up, scolding lightly.
But Paimon had no time to answer. She immediately threw herself back toward the treasure chest, pure little money grubber instincts in full control.
She reached inside and dragged out a long sword.
The blade was slender, its colors an elegant mixture of black and white. At the guard, pale wings of a pegasus curled backward all the way to the hilt, forming a protective cradle that shielded the wielder's hand from harm.
A faint light shimmered along the sword's length.
"Wow, this sword is flowing with Anemo energy. It is perfect for Lumine!"
Paimon swung it a couple of times with great difficulty, then declared.
"Elemental affinity," Jensen corrected.
It was not truly a wind element sword. It was just that Mondstadt's air was so rich in Anemo that, over time, the blade had become wreathed in it.
"Is that..."
Standing in the doorway, Amber's eyes widened. "The Favonius Sword?"
"Favonius Sword?"
The name sounded very familiar to Lumine.
Favonius Knights, Favonius Sword...
"This is the standard longsword of the Knights of Favonius. Normally it needs approval from both the Grand Master and the Church before it can be issued. It is the crystallization of Mondstadt's guards' diligence and skill."
Amber could not help sounding a little sour. "Even I do not have one, and Jensen is just giving this sword to Lumine?"
