Chapter 150: The Sunny Takes Flight – Garp's Pursuit & Kaido's Unexpected Appearance
"Hey, brat, what's your name?" Kaido suddenly asked.
Sol continued exerting force, shaking off the mace in front of him, before answering: "My name? I'm Aetrias Sol Doragnir. Remember it well!"
A flash of excitement appeared in Kaido's eyes: "So it's Sol, huh? You're pretty strong, kid… Alright, let's start the slaughter!" The moment he finished speaking, he leaped backward, narrowly dodging Kuzan's "Pheasant Beak."
"Tch… you're completely ignoring me and Vice Admiral Garp, aren't you?" Kuzan's voice was icy cold, his right arm wrapped in biting frost as he stared at Kaido.
"As expected of you, Kaido. That underhanded style of yours. But… you just tried to sneak attack my beloved disciple, didn't you?" Garp's gaze was unfriendly as he stared at him. "If you want to fight, we'll keep you company until you're satisfied. And if you lose, there's a complimentary 'Impel Down gift package' waiting for you."
Kaido: "Hehe… not hehe!"
"Wait, Kuzan, Grandpa Garp—let me handle this guy alone." Sol reached out to stop the two of them, his tone carrying a hint of arrogance.
"You brat, this isn't child's play! The opponent is one of the Four Emperors. One wrong move and you could lose your life!" Garp's expression was serious as he tried to make his "rebellious disciple" face reality.
"Hehe, this time it's a perfect matchup. Have you forgotten what my ability is?" Sol said. Lightning and flames intertwined around his body as he entered Thunder Flame Dragon mode, his fighting spirit soaring.
"Dragon Slayer magic, huh…" Garp thought for a moment and stopped trying to stop him. Kuzan, seeing this, was happy to relax. He casually created an ice chair with his ability and sat down to watch the fight.
"Oh? Instead of running away, you're actively coming closer to me?" Kaido felt the rising aura from Sol and immediately entered his hybrid form, pouring Armament Haki into his mace and assuming his classic stance.
"Thunder Bagua!"
"Thunder Flame Dragon Strike!"
Sol used Flowing Sakura while gathering lightning and flame power in his arm, meeting the attack at high speed! The two forces collided violently, erupting in a deafening roar as the ice beneath their feet shattered!
After a brief separation, the two clashed again at high speed. Fist shadows and the mace collided fiercely.
"Damn it… what the hell is this pink-haired monster?!" Kaido grew more and more surprised as they fought. He then delivered a heavy swing to force Sol back, looked down at the fist mark on his body that was healing unusually slowly, and after a moment of silence, spoke quietly:
"Brat, what exactly is your ability? Why are my wounds recovering so slowly?"
But there was one thing Kaido didn't say out loud: on this kid, he felt a death threat like that of a natural enemy.
"Dragon Slayer magic is a type of magic specially created to fight dragons! Pretty amazing, right?" Sol brought his fists together; lightning and flames sparked in the air as he grinned.
"Dragon-slaying technique? Interesting!" Kaido's lips curled into a ferocious smile. "Then let me personally experience this so-called Dragon Slayer magic of yours!"
"Then keep your eyes wide open! This punch has twenty years of training behind it—let's see if you can take it!" Flames exploded under Sol's feet, propelling him forward in an instant. He closed in on Kaido and delivered a fierce elbow strike straight to his abdomen!
"Man! Take this—Fire Dragon's Flame Elbow!"
The elbow strike landed with explosive force. Kaido was sent flying backward, tumbling several times across the ice before stabilizing himself. Far from being angry, his face showed excitement: "A fight I haven't had in a long time… I'm starting to feel my blood boil!"
"Diamond Diamond!" Kaido swung out a pillar-shaped club blast that tore through the ice and shot toward Sol! Sol sidestepped, and the spot where he had been standing exploded into a deep crater.
"You really do have some skill, brat!" Kaido laughed wildly, a red glint flashing in his eyes. "But you're still far from mastering the true realm of Haki!"
Dark red lightning suddenly wrapped around Hachijū! Kaido charged toward Sol. The moment the mace swung down, the air seemed to tear apart. The oppressive pressure brought by Conqueror's Haki made even Kuzan, who was watching from afar, sit up straight.
BANG!!!
Sol blocked with all his strength, but he was still sent flying. Feeling the sensation that his arms were nearly broken, he cried out in his heart: Busoshoku! Is Conqueror's Haki infusion this insane? Kaido-sensei, is it too late for me to start learning advanced Haki from you? I really want to get stronger!
"Ugh…!" Sol carved a dozens-of-meters-long trench across the ice. Before he could get up, Kaido had already appeared in the air above him, a ferocious grin on his face.
"Roaring Thunder Bagua!"
This strike was several times heavier than before. Sol was smashed straight into the sea!
Kaido stood at the edge of the ice crater, club on his shoulder, his dragon eyes looking down disdainfully: "You can be proud of forcing me to use Conqueror's infusion. But the game is over now, brat!"
"Gurgle gurgle…"
Kaido heard the strange sound of boiling water coming from the sea. His Observation Haki suddenly issued a sharp warning, and he immediately burst backward! The next second, a massive flaming whirlwind wrapped in lightning broke through the ice and chased after him!
"? This guy isn't a Devil Fruit user?!" Kaido was confused, but the attack had already arrived. He immediately countered with a Thunder Bagua, forcefully dispersing the lightning-flame whirlwind!
Sol leaped out of the sea, fused the lightning of the Thunder Dragon in his left hand with the flames of the Fire Dragon in his right, forming a huge electrified fireball, and hurled it fiercely toward Kaido!
"Fire Dragon's Thunder Flame!"
"Bad Wind!"
Kaido opened his mouth and spat out a dense barrage of wind blades that collided violently with the thunder-flame fireball! The shockwave from the explosion instantly swept across the entire ice plain!
Kuzan had already stood up and was standing side by side with Garp. His tone carried disbelief: "Hey hey, is this for real… that kid Sol is actually going toe-to-toe with Kaido!"
"Wahahaha! He's still far from it! But the fact that the kid could force Kaido to use Conqueror's infusion is already impressive," Garp's face was full of gratification. He then said seriously, "Get ready to take over, Kuzan. We'll catch Kaido and bring him back. That way I can report to Sengoku."
The older ginger is spicier. Garp's judgment was correct. Although Sol was engaged in fierce combat with Kaido on the broken ice plain, with every clash of lightning-flame and mace producing dazzling sparks, Kaido's raw power ultimately proved superior.
After catching one of Sol's openings, Kaido delivered a heavy club strike that sent him flying. Then he transformed into his Azure Dragon form and immediately prepared to flee!
"Bad luck… I finally went out for once, and I run into these two guys," Kaido thought to himself. "Too bad I couldn't bring back that Mythical Zoan rookie pirate… Oh well, as long as she's not dead, I'll see her in the New World sooner or later—and that Sol kid too."
Even as his thoughts raced, his actions didn't slow for a second.
"Kuzan, stop him!" Garp hadn't expected Kaido to switch faces so quickly—one moment he was fighting fiercely, the next he was trying to run away. It was completely shameless!
"Ice Time Capsule!"
Kuzan acted immediately, but he was still a step too late. Before the cold air could reach him, Kaido had already transformed into his Azure Dragon and shot into the sky, disappearing into the clouds in the blink of an eye.
