Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Charge

How fast was a Titled Douluo?

In the blink of an eye, one could reach Eastsea Junior Academy.

After entering the school, Leng Yaozhu sensed Na'er's spiritual presence and concealed herself as she quietly approached.

It seemed to be a physical education class. From her perception, Na'er was getting along well with the other students, laughing and playing together.

It appeared that over the past few months, Na'er had grown a great deal and was no longer as withdrawn as before.

Watching this, Leng Yaozhu even felt, for a moment, that leaving Na'er here had been the right decision.

But when she drew closer and saw the scene with her own eyes, she froze.

Su Wuyan, who had arrived a step behind her, also froze.

Good heavens, kid…

On the playground,

After three months of bonding and becoming familiar with his classmates, Su Qiu had regained his childlike spirit.

Or perhaps he had never really lost it?

In any case, he felt no embarrassment. After all, he was indeed a child now.

They were currently playing a role-playing "soul battle" game. The storyline was simple: a knight defeats numerous villains and rescues the princess.

Su Qiu played the role of the Knight King.

"Cursed Knight King, today will be your end! Don't even think about rescuing the princess!"

The other students, playing villains, charged forward together.

"Hmph, evil can never triumph over justice!"

With righteous bearing, Su Qiu mounted his steed, summoned the Sword of Promised Victory, and pointed it forward.

"Where are the Thirteen Knights of the Round Table?"

"Your servant is here!" Thirteen classmates jumped out, saluting in the style of ancient generals.

Don't ask why there were thirteen besides Su Qiu, it was simply convenient.

Incidentally, Su Qiu himself had written the script and served as the action director.

"Charge!"

In an instant, everyone rolled together into a chaotic pile as turn-based combat began, with rock-paper-scissors deciding who moved first.

At the side, Li Xiaoyun, who had originally been worried, was now laughing so hard her stomach hurt.

But here came the question.

Where was Na'er?

Was she playing the captured princess?

No.

She was playing the steed.

That's right, Na'er was currently being ridden by Su Qiu!

Su Qiu sat on her shoulders while Na'er stood upright, supporting him. Her cute face was flushed bright red, whether from embarrassment or the strain, or perhaps both.

Poor Na'er, running into someone like Su Qiu.

Each of the thirteen knights was holding back an opponent, leaving only one final villain.

"Damn!"

"Ram him down! Golden Dragon King!"

Upon receiving the command, Na'er began her charge. True to her Golden Dragon martial soul, born from the Silver Dragon King, even while carrying Su Qiu, she moved as though her shoulders bore no weight at all.

"Wait, wait, hold on."

Na'er stopped.

Su Qiu reminded her, "How many times have I told you? Before charging, you need a battle roar, that's the soul of it."

"Try again. Show the aura of the Golden Dragon!"

Clearing his throat, Su Qiu called out again:

"Ram him down! Golden Dragon King!"

Na'er froze for a moment. Her face turned even redder, so embarrassed it looked as if steam might rise from her head.

"Awoo…" she let out a soft roar.

"Put some spirit into it! Don't disgrace the Golden Dragon!"

"Awooo!!!"

And then she charged!

"Barbarian King Charge!"

Li Xiaoyun was laughing so hard she could barely breathe, until suddenly she couldn't laugh anymore.

In the distance, she saw a stunningly beautiful woman with a fiery figure walking toward them, her expression dark.

Her heart skipped a beat.

She didn't recognize the woman, but she did recognize the man obediently following behind her, Su Wuyan, the Branch Tower Master of the Eastsea Spirit Pagoda.

Meanwhile, under the unstoppable charge of the mighty Golden Dragon King, the final villain was defeated.

They arrived at the place where the princess was imprisoned.

A chubby boy sat there idly drawing circles on the ground.

"My lord, your subordinate has arrived late, my crime deserves death!"

The chubby boy suddenly beamed with delight.

"Finally finished! My turn, my turn, I want to play the Knight King now!"

"Uh… then first you need to find your steed."

Fair point. The chubby boy looked around, only to find that every classmate was deliberately avoiding his gaze.

There was only one Na'er in the class, and no one else could carry him.

"Sister Na'er…" he pleaded pitifully.

"No," Na'er shook her head. "I only let big brother ride."

"That's right, Na'er and I are a locked-in combo!" Su Qiu nodded solemnly.

Na'er, beneath him, instantly brightened and lifted her chin proudly.

The chubby boy looked utterly devastated.

"Skip him, who's next in line?"

"I think it's Na'er's turn," someone said.

Before Na'er could rejoice, Su Qiu suddenly changed expression. "Ah… my stomach hurts. Maybe we should play again next time."

"Next time?" A low, suppressed voice filled with anger suddenly cut in. "I think it should be now. Immediately."

Huh?

Su Qiu turned Na'er around, and before them stood a beautiful woman with a fiery aura.

Behind her stood Su Wuyan.

"Uncle?"

"Teacher?"

Na'er's surprised voice came from beneath him.

Teacher?

This time, Su Qiu truly changed expression. His mind began racing at lightning speed.

At the same time, Su Wuyan looked at him with a sorrowful expression and silently mouthed two words:

Heavenly… Phoenix.

Heavenly Phoenix?

Heavenly Phoenix!!!

In that instant, the wrinkles in Su Qiu's brain seemed to smooth out as everything clicked.

Why had Na'er ended up in the same school and class as him?

Because the administrator hadn't sent her to the orphanage, she had been taken away by Leng Yaozhu! With Na'er's talent, being accepted as her disciple would have been effortless.

And afterward, with the help of the Heavenly Phoenix Douluo, finding him would naturally have been easy.

The moment he understood, Su Qiu smoothly dismounted.

"Greetings, Your Excellency Heavenly Phoenix."

A blond brat teasing a girl, only to be caught by her guardian.

Tragic.

"Didn't you hear what I just said?" Leng Yaozhu said coldly. "I said, it's Na'er's turn to ride you!"

"Teacher, I don't mind," Na'er stepped in front of Su Qiu without the slightest hesitation.

Just as Su Qiu had once stood in front of her.

"Na'er…" Leng Yaozhu paused.

In just three months, Na'er had grown immensely. The timid, withdrawn girl she had first met was nowhere to be seen.

Yet thinking about the price of that growth made her feel irritated again.

"Climb on, Na'er."

Su Qiu had already crouched down. He wasn't someone who couldn't take a joke, his earlier refusal had only been an act, meant to tease her.

"Mm." Na'er, whose face had only just recovered, flushed red again. She responded softly and slowly sat on his shoulders.

As Su Qiu stood up, Na'er let out a startled cry and shyly hugged his head.

"Everyone! Positions, again!"

"Yes!"

It had to be said: children in the Douluo world grew up early. The classmates quickly understood the situation and eagerly returned to their places.

"Ram… ram him down, Golden Dragon King…"

"Uh, Na'er, you mixed it up. Since I'm the steed now, I should be called the Invincible Tyrant Dragon."

"Ram him down, Invi… Invincible Tyrant Dragon!"

"Woohoo!!!"

It could only be said that Su Qiu's face was simply too thick-skinned. After becoming the steed, he grew even more uninhibited.

Carrying Na'er, he sprinted wildly across the field, overturning every villain in his path, unstoppable.

After all, a steed had no lines, only battle roars.

Na'er, on the other hand, felt even more socially mortified than before. Sitting on Su Qiu's shoulders, she curled into a tight ball, clutching his head tightly.

Watching this, Leng Yaozhu began to regret it. This entire game was ridiculous, no matter who rode whom, Na'er was the one at a disadvantage.

After taking a deep breath, she finally spoke her true purpose:

"Na'er, it's time to come back with me."

Su Qiu's expression changed dramatically.

Wait, what?

Even this scene is turning into a farewell?

In the original story it took three years, why is it only three months here?!

Na'er, who had been happily playing with Su Qiu's cowlick, froze upon hearing those words. The smile on her face vanished instantly.
