Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: The Unlucky Zhe Luo, Irene’s Invitation

"Humph! A bunch of trash!"

Through the memories of the leading hunting mage, Wang Feng learned they were all from a hunting group called Red King—more like a mercenary gang than a proper team.

Their leader was a veteran super-class hunter, notorious for bullying men and women, committing countless crimes, and spreading fear wherever he went.

A flash of disgust crossed Wang Feng's eyes. With a forceful squeeze, he crushed the hunter's neck, then tossed the body aside like trash.

He turned to look at Lingling.

Her eyes were wide with shock, staring at Wang Feng in his Dragon Lord form. The mix of surprise, curiosity, and admiration was clear on her face.

"You… you are Wang Feng?" she asked cautiously.

"Um," Wang Feng nodded, then deactivated the Azure Dragon's possession, returning to his normal appearance.

"Didn't I tell you to close your eyes? Why didn't you listen? Have you forgotten what your senior sister taught you?" he said, his tone serious but without blame.

"I… I was just curious," Lingling admitted, sticking out her tongue. "Wang Feng, what just happened? You turned into a dragon? That's amazing!"

Wang Feng smiled and whispered, "It's one of my natural talents. It's a secret, so don't tell anyone."

"Yes, yes!" Lingling nodded earnestly, as careful as a chick pecking at rice. "I won't tell a soul!"

She quickly blinked, then asked with excitement:

"But~ can you transform again? I want to see those dragon horns and that aura—it's so handsome!"

Wang Feng shook his head, patting her on the head. "Using it consumes a lot of energy and magic power. Next time, I'll do it."

"Oh~" Lingling nodded obediently, disappointed but no longer insisting.

"Hey, Lingling, this is the map these scum drew. See if it's useful."

Wang Feng handed her the hand-drawn map he had taken from the team leader.

Lingling opened it and compared it to her own map in her mind. Her eyes widened in surprise.

"Wang Feng, this map overlaps with our route, but it's not repetitive. It can be stitched together perfectly!"

"Even scumbags can be useful sometimes," Wang Feng muttered, curling his lips.

From this group, he only acquired some junk spirit seeds, with no innate talents.

"Moon, let's go!" Wang Feng patted the giant silver-white wolf's head.

"Ouch~!"

Moon howled and dashed toward the Dragon Valley exit.

About an hour later, a team in Red King attire arrived in the canyon.

Their faces darkened at the scene. Corpses were torn apart, blood mingled with the dust, and the smell of violence filled the air.

"Deputy Captain, there's a faint dragon aura here and strong residual water elements. The valuables are untouched… it seems they were attacked by a water dragon beast."

The deputy captain, a burly man with a scar stretching from forehead to chin, glared at the ground.

"Where's their map?" he demanded.

"It's gone… maybe lost or taken by the dragon beast," the scout replied.

"Hmph, pathetic! You couldn't even save a map! Worthless!"

"Deputy Captain, what do we do now?"

"Regroup with the other teams. Maybe there's still something to salvage."

"Yes!"

Two days later, about two thousand kilometers from the Dragon Valley entrance, Wang Feng spotted a scarred figure at the mountain's base.

The man's body was caked in dried blood, his emerald green hair standing out.

Zhe Luo first saw the approaching silver-white wolf and despair flashed in his eyes—but then hope bloomed when he saw Wang Feng and Lingling riding Moon.

"Save me… please!" he called hoarsely, weak but pleading.

Wang Feng's eyes were cold. "What do you have that's worth saving?"

"I'm Zhe Luo of the Spencer family. If you take me away, I'll reward you generously afterward!" he promised eagerly.

Wang Feng glanced at Lingling. She frowned briefly, then nodded softly.

"The Spencer family? The British princess's family?" she murmured.

"Yes!" Zhe Luo nodded, hopeful.

Lingling whispered to Wang Feng, "He can be saved."

Wang Feng nodded, raising his hand. A small healing star map appeared behind him.

A tiny healing elf flew to Zhe Luo, emitting a gentle light. His wounds and broken bones mended before their eyes, and his face regained color.

A golden prompt box appeared in front of Wang Feng:

[Chaos Capacity]: Increases the amount of magic the Chaos Vortex can hold (requires Chaos to unlock).

Wang Feng blinked. He hadn't expected that he would save the future captain of the British national team.

Once Zhe Luo had recovered, he rose and brushed off debris, saluting Wang Feng and Lingling.

"Thank you for saving me. I'll reward you properly when I can!"

He tried to mount Moon, but she growled, forcing him to tumble twice in panic.

"Sorry, Moon doesn't like male humans close to her," Wang Feng said apologetically.

Zhe Luo waved awkwardly. "It's fine. I have my own mount." He summoned an Eagle Lord, though it barely reached general-level strength and was far inferior to Moon.

"How did you end up like this?" Wang Feng asked.

Zhe Luo sighed bitterly. "Don't ask… just bad luck. One misfortune after another!"

He recounted how a sub-dragon had targeted him soon after entering Dragon Valley, separating him from his fellow hunters.

Lost and exhausted, he had stumbled into multiple dragon nests before collapsing.

Wang Feng and Lingling exchanged looks of helpless sympathy. Truly, some people were just unlucky!

Lingling laughed softly. "Mr. Zhe Luo, your experience is… rich."

Zhe Luo smiled wryly. "Yes, but my luck changed when I met you."

Wang Feng nodded. "If you want out of Dragon Valley, come with us. But we must hurry—it's not safe."

Zhe Luo nodded, and together they followed Wang Feng and Lingling toward the exit.

Two days later, they emerged safely from Dragon Valley.

At the inn near the valley, Irene awaited the returning hunters.

Her golden eyes widened slightly when she saw Zhe Luo trailing behind Wang Feng and Lingling.

"Zhe Luo, what happened? Where are the two five-star hunters you came with?" she asked.

"Don't mention it… the mission failed. I'm sorry," Zhe Luo muttered, embarrassed.

A small smile played across Irene's face as she turned to Wang Feng and Lingling.

"You two, did you complete the mission?"

"Of course," Lingling said confidently, handing Irene her tablet.

Irene browsed quickly. When she saw the notation "Emperor's Lair," her eyes sparkled, and a satisfied smile appeared.

"Congratulations! You two have won first place in the Dragon Valley survey. Please follow me to the Victoria family to select your rewards!" Irene invited enthusiastically.
