After seeing his status screen Aethel was surprised by how much stronger he got . He was just an E rank not even a few hours ago but now he has the stats of a C rank and is also at D Rank. All his stats except luck and Charm are the same or higher than the chosen ones and he achieved this in less than a day, granted it has been his lucky day.
Speaking about luck , Aethel wanted to know why his and Aurelia were just question marks. At first when he saw Aurelias he thought it was because he was too weak to see them but his is also the same so he decided to ask the system. He even got new skills .

Seeing the explanations, Aethel was extremely happy. He had already become powerful enough to be first in the coming gate exploration just from fire power alone. Although he can't make the most of his monstrous abilities due to his lack of battle experience, it is still enough to beat all beings at C-rank and even some B-ranks with his VOID-MANA SOVEREIGNTY (A) alone. He did not say A-ranks because he does not have any spells to use on them that will grant him a win.
But with all of his skills and talents, there might be a high chance of him winning against any being below A-rank.
Aethel noticed that while his Strength and Speed were hard-capped at D-rank due to his Infant body, his Mana was already at A-rank. The system explained that as a Voidborn, his Mana isn't 'stored' in his body like a normal mage; it is pulled directly from the Void through his soul. His physical body doesn't need to contain it, so it doesn't break—but he can't use it to reinforce his physical strikes past D-rank without his developing muscles tearing apart.
But if his mana is from the Void, shouldn't it be the highest rank? Aethel decided to focus on that at another time as he is occupied with his status screen.
What Aethel did not know was that he was correct with his assumption. The reason his mana quality is only A-rank is because his body only knows that mana from the void and doesn't know the higher-level ones. Even if he were to know and absorb them, he should only do so in the lowest amounts so he can adapt to it and utilize it, but right now he is simply not exposed to that transcendental mana yet.
Now that he understood all of the texts on his status screen, he decided to do what was most important and use his system's second function... FUSION.

Aethel refocused on his status screen, looking closely at the drastic changes it showed. From the way things are going, Aethel won't be too shocked if he reached SSS-rank by the day he does the gate exploration. He has gone from E to C-rank with extraordinary speed; what's to say he would slow down? He just needs to copy formidable talents and fuse them to become the absolute strongest in the world as quickly as possible.
While looking at his stats he saw that some have increased like his speed which was obviously due to his new trait, Transcendent Reflexes, but he was not aware of the reason his Charm increased so massively.
After thinking for a while the only reason he could come up with is that he upgraded his race. As for why there was no change when he became an Infant Voidborn, he has no idea.
Aethel decided to first check himself out in the mirror and saw that he really did become more handsome. His jaw was more prominent, his skin was practically shining and his height increased to about 6 foot 2 (188 cm). If he was on earth he could easily be more handsome and beautiful than any Human that has ever been there. He would probably make people fall in love with him just through his looks.
Well although it was at A rank higher then even the named characters it still not nearly as high as his new Masters whose Charm is at EX rank. Just as that thought appeared in his mind he heard a voice from behind him.
"Are you done checking yourself out on the mirror ?"
In sheer suprise he turned around as fast as he could just to see his new master sitting cross legged on his bed looking the same as she did in the hall. Same veil covering her face and same eyes staring at his . Those eyes seen to have a certain attraction as he stared at them.
"If you done staring at me can we continue"
With her words Aethel finally got back to his senses and realized that she was in his room.
"What can I help you with?"
"No need to be so formal , I find all those things tedious"
Hearing her words Aethel was relieved since he does not like to speak too formally as he from the modern world.
"What are you doing here?" He asked in the most respectful manner he could since that can come out as rude.
" Is a master not allowed to see her first and only disciple when she pleases?" She said in an almost pouting tone.
'It seems that I have a playful master. Well from my experience there are the best ones' Aethel thought t o himself. Obviously when he says his experience he means his experience in reading novels .
"I didn't mean in that way, I meant that—"
" I know what you mean. I came because I sensed you evolving from Infant Voidborn to a Fledgling. Clearly you still don't know how us Voidborn properly evolve so I am trying to figure out how you did it. " Her hand was now resting on her cheek and she was looking at him with a playful look in her eyes.
"Well I guess everybody has secrets so I won't pry into yours since I am your master. But next time you decide to evolve again in academy grounds try not causing so much of a commotion. If I was not here to shield you, your evolution would have shown the entire academy the existence of beings born from the Void. Although nothing can happen to you whilst I am here having a trump card or two is always useful. "
"Well I also had another reason for coming and that was to start your training. Since I am your master I took it upon myself to come and take you for your first day of training. Since I don't want to put in danger on the first day by sending you to a gate we will just start with light sparing to gouge your strength and experience."
A faint warmth stirred in Aethel's chest as her words settled. It wasn't just that she was willing to keep his secret; she had actively shielded him from prying eyes and refrained from prying into his past herself. Now, she was even offering to train him. While he suspected her kindness stemmed from their shared nature as Voidborn, the fact that she demanded nothing in return wasn't lost on him. In a world where everything usually had a price, her unconditional support felt like a rare, quiet mercy.
