Chapter 59 - Please Save Me

"Is this magic? Can you change your body at will? I have never seen such a trick before..." Aaron looked indifferent.

"Make a guess. Also, I advise you not to count on the manor's guards to support you, because I have already invited them all to another world. As for those servants, they ran away long ago."

Wolf sneered, raising his arm that had transformed into a steel blade as he closed in on Aaron.

"Who exactly sent you? Those nobles? Or... the Emperor?" Aaron tensed his entire body, gathering his strength.

"You might not believe it, but I want to kill you purely out of my own personal interest. As for my identity, you can ask your younger brother locked in the dungeon. Of course, this is just adding to your troubles—oh, wait, you probably won't have that chance."

Wolf shook his head, revealing nothing more.

"Heh, are you that confident you can take me down?"

As soon as the words fell, Aaron disregarded any martial ethics completely. Gripping his longsword tightly with both hands, he struck first!

Stepping out with a swift sword stance, the horizontal blade turned into a streak of white radiance, slashing toward Wolf's neck.

Clang!

The sound of metal clashing rang out. The steel blade arm retracted instantly, and leaning his body back, Wolf intercepted this sudden strike.

"Hey, hey..."

His surprise attack having missed, Aaron immediately switched sword forms. After the blade clashed a few times, he quickly flipped and raised it; the sword edge transformed into another white arc, slashing toward the other side of Wolf's neck.

Wolf's other arm twisted, also transforming into a steel blade. As his body retreated, with a loud clang, he blocked this sword strike once again.

Crossing his steel blade arms, he retreated several steps in succession. Just as Wolf stabilized his stance, Aaron rushed up with another arrow-step.

"HAA!" Aaron shouted loudly, thrusting the longsword toward Wolf's head!

At this critical moment, Wolf tilted his head and exaggeratedly opened his mouth wide, revealing two rows of teeth. Those teeth instantly transformed into silver steel saws, biting down onto the tip of Aaron's sword!

The saws ground against the longsword, making a creaking sound.

Aaron suddenly realized he couldn't thrust forward; the sword tip was bit firmly by those two rows of sharp teeth. This time, he had truly encountered a formidable opponent with a literal "sharp tongue and sharp teeth."

Like a wild beast, Wolf bit onto the longsword to restrict Aaron's attack, and swung his two arms—transformed into steel blades—forward in a cross shape!

"Damn it!" Locked in a stalemate, Aaron was full of openings.

Seeing this, Aaron released his hands at extreme speed, decisively abandoning the longsword and jumping backward.

His coat was sliced open with two cuts. He barely dodged this blow, exhaling a breath of turbid air.

"Peh... The quality of this sword is really good; I actually couldn't bite it to pieces..."

The longsword was thrown to the ground. Feeling a wave of soreness in his teeth, Wolf grinned.

"Didn't your mother teach you not to eat things randomly?"

Cold sweat broke out on Aaron's forehead. Is this guy really human? Quietly reaching out to touch a bench beside him, he remained on guard against Wolf's counterattack.

Having lost his longsword and the advantage of the first strike, Aaron felt he might really die at the hands of this guy before him today. But he did not give up resistance; his brain spun rapidly, searching for a path to survival.

"Mother? Sorry, I don't have one."

Wolf was in no hurry to attack. Spreading his two steel blade arms, he slowly walked toward the unarmed Aaron.

"I have to admit, your near-first-class swordsmanship is quite good; I was startled too. But unfortunately, you are destined to die by my hands. Rest assured, I might as well tell you before you die: after killing you, I will replace you, and I will lead Gaderia toward a more glorious future!"

"You guy, you sure talk a lot of crap!"

Aaron grabbed the chair directly and threw it at Wolf with a swing of his hand!

"Alright, alright, I'll take your life right now!"

Casually slicing apart the chair, Wolf only heard the crash of shattering glass.

Aaron turned around, curled his body while running, and smashed through the wide window. Glass shards splashed as he jumped directly from the upper floor.

During the fall, Aaron was very fortunate. Because Nanoda liked to climb through windows when she visited, he had specially made the windows larger, just big enough for him to jump out and escape.

Jumping from the second floor, with psychological preparation, Aaron was ready to break a few bones.

A thud came from outside.

"You!"

Wolf was startled. To think he could use such an escape route.

He walked quickly to the broken window. Below, Aaron clutched his arm and quickly scrambled up from the ground, walking back into the Lord's Manor.

"Heh, is this hide-and-seek? What an interesting fellow."

Wolf turned, intending to go downstairs to find Aaron. After clearing out the guards in the Lord's Manor, he had already set up a barrier magic outside. No one could go out, and no one could come in.

Aaron had keenly discovered this when he jumped, but to buy time, he had to do it. There was no possibility for him to escape in the narrow office. At least now, he had won himself some buffer time, and he already had a survival idea. Now he could only pray that he would be a step ahead of that assassin.

"Why am I so unlucky..."

Feeling the stinging pain from his left foot, Aaron clutched his completely broken left arm and walked with a limp toward a certain place inside the Lord's Manor.

"What happened?"

A figure wandering around appeared in the corridor, and a cool, indifferent girl's voice was heard. A trace of comfort finally appeared on Aaron's somewhat pale face.

"Please save me... Miss Linie."

Wearing a white apron over her dress and a white chef's hat on her head, Linie held a spatula in her hand, looking confusedly at the disheveled Aaron.

Linie had arrived at the Lord's Manor at noon to ask the cooks here for culinary advice. As a result, she persuaded the entire kitchen of cooks to quit. The chefs left behind only a recipe book and all hurriedly clocked out and ran away.

Because she was too serious, she didn't even notice the Lord's Manor had been invaded. It was unclear if she was too serious or just too dense.

It wasn't until she felt the strange mana fluctuation—that is, when Aaron and Wolf engaged—that she put down the cooking in her hand. Not long after walking out of the kitchen, she ran into Aaron, who had jumped off the building to escape.

"Who?" Linie looked behind Aaron.

"How interesting. I've been miscalculating often recently. I didn't expect there would still be a Demon in the Lord's Manor. I had clearly confirmed that the strongest few were not here..."

Still wearing Abel's face, Wolf walked out from the corner, sizing up Linie.

"I'll trouble you with this."

The injured Aaron slowly walked behind Linie. She was the only one he could rely on now. In Aaron's view, Linie should be able to contend with this guy.

At this moment, Linie also knew that the guy before her was the intruder.
