Chapter 3 - Midnight temptation

"Susan" Shane had tried calling her again with more force to his voice this time, after she hadn't answered the first.

"Yes Mr. Shane," looking around, Susan barely whispered her reply, her uneasy want hovered faintly in the almost completely dark corridor.

"You're here late," she commented, her eyes hungrily followed the trail of water, lingering dangerously close to his throat.

"I was having a night lecture, and drinking from here is closer than my quarters" tucking his empty hand in his pocket, Shane replied.

"Okay," Susan gulped and Shane could tell she wasn't paying attention to his words at all her gaze was practically raking him.

"Good night" gripping his can firmly with his other hand, Mr. Shane turned, leaving Susan behind.

Susan took the needed amount of water from the dispenser as her thoughts lingered towards her professor.

She knew she wanted Shane badly but with the way he was always strict and Formal she doubted he felt anything towards her.

Still in the premises of Da Vere college, Shane moved briskly, headed for his quarters.

The wind blew at his face, causing his black hair with gold tinted ends to sway softly.

With the amount of times he had clenched and unclenched his jaw, showed how disturbed he felt.

"Susan" her red hair that almost felt like flames calling out to him, disturbed him greatly.

He refused to let his thoughts simmer that way, but something put his brief steps to a pause.

Shane had felt someone following him. Turning behind, he saw nothing.

Though the presence lingered strangely.

Getting to his residence, he entered, locking the door behind him.

Whatever had followed Shane home, lurked just outside his door, a weird compass hanging off it's wrist though the black robes it adorned, concealed it's form.

Male or female, even the night's moon knew not the answer to that question.

But the presence whoever it was carried, was ominous.

**

First light peeked behind clear clouds and breeze followed, but the booming engine of vehicles just had to ruin the natural morning sound.

Aros stood outside Da Vere's brown brick walls and outside it's confinement, waiting to take the bus home.

Grey Bingham stood not too far from him, with that grumpy glare to his looks,

And somehow, Nate had considered himself a suspended student as he slouched beside Aros, waiting for the same bus.

"You're insufferable you know.." Aros lowly mused beside Nate.

"My life would be boring otherwise," smiling like he had a private joke going on in his head, Nate answered Aros.

"Psycho," Bingham scoffed lightly.

The revving engine soon stopped just in front of the three, and they stepped unto the almost filled bus.

Closing it's doors with a mechanical clang, the bus moved forward once more.

At the early hours of noon Aros and Nate had arrived in Ashwood heights.

Bingham had deviated towards his own destination, long before Aros had arrived at theirs, but both their abodes coexisted on Ashwood.

The gates swooned open and soon after the doors followed, Mrs. Linton, Aros's mother stood in front.

"Welcome honey" hugging Aros tightly, she spoke, before turning to Nate saying "you too Nathan."

She knew Aros had been suspended for a brawl but she wasn't going at him with that immediately, not right now at least.

Ushering them both inside, Tiana Linton walked forward.

"It's good to see you mom, where's Tessa?" looking around, Aros waited to catch a glimpse of his younger sister.

"She'll be back from school soon, and your dad's out on a business trip" Aros's mother informed.

"Oh," letting out a slightly disappointed sigh, Aros looked at the stairs, where their house keeper stood, waiting to take his bags.

"I can take the bags upstairs, young master," the elderly woman informed.

"No that won't be necessary, I'll do it myself" he quickly refused.

"Then we should get to making dinner for you and Nate, but sadly, I'm out for night shift, my hospital needs me" Tiana Linton patted her son slowly.

"No dinner for Nate, he's going home now, just me, and hope work goes well mom," Aros rushed, already walking up the stairs with his bags in hand.

Mrs. Linton and the house keeper both walked into the other hallway leading towards the kitchen.

Nate followed swiftly behind Aros "You're mean, why would you say I don't want to stay for dinner" he complained behind Aros.

"You have better things to do than stick like glue to me Nate, aren't you like the youngest genius CEO of Whitlock's enterprise?"

"I'm pretty sure your dad would love to see you, they miss you, know?" Aros finished with a sigh.

"Fine, I'll go see them, but you'll be ok right?" with eyebrows now tilted in all seriousness, Nate questioned.

"Yes, I'm fine Nate, and I'll be fine" Aros assured, clearly tired of Nate's meddling.

Aros was wearing long sleeves, that was a bad sign to Nate, he totally wasn't fine.

"Okay" Nate agreed, not wanting to piss him off any further.

When Nate's silhouette had almost fully slithered out the door, Aros turned to stare but soon continued up the flights of stairs.

Somewhere between the many lanes of Ashwood heights, Bingham sat on his bed, phone in hand, while he spoke to Moses.

"How does it feel to be home?" a mocking voice sounded from the other end of the line.

"Feels like shit" Bingham scoffed.

"Well, whatever, got to go" Moses responded and the line went off.

Standing outside the girls dormitory, Moses checked the time displayed on his phone screen, 9:00pm

Night had already set itself over the vast sky.

Moses stepped into the room just in front of him.

The lights in the ceiling of the room hadn't all been turned on, save for two that flickered slightly.

"B," Moses called out to the girl at the study desk.

"Babe.." Bianca squealed on seeing Moses.

She ran to hug him, then placed a full kiss on his lips.

"I missed you," she heard him whisper.

"Me too" she answered.

"Your roommate?" Moses questioned, breathless, gray eyes seeking answers.

"She's out for the night," Bianca assured as Moses trailed his hands into her hair.

His fingers grazed the multiple piercings on her ear and the flickering lights made her septum ring glint.

Gently guiding Bianca onto her bed, Moses smothered kisses down her neck, his hands already taking off her crop top.

Somewhere between, Moses had almost fully undressed her, his fingers escaped behind her shorts and his lips connected with her navel.

The sensation of having both his fingers and lips on her, had Bianca moaning in the enclosed walls of the room.

"B," Moses called out from beneath her, his voice edged with a needy caress.

"I'm going all the way" with words barely above a whisper, Moses informed.

"Okay," breathless Bianca murmured as the night swallowed the moans groans and whimpers that followed.

Back in Ashwood, Bingham continued to lay on his bed, his eyes glued to the ceiling above.

His mind replayed the harsh bruises he had left on Aros's face and how the latter had barely even harmed him.

The guilt slowly crept into his heart.

"Fuck it" he muttered, he was going to apologize, the only problem now was, he didn't have Aros's call line and he didn't know his house either.

Of all the people in his friend group he had some close one, Drayce, Moses and Nate.

His best bet on who would know Aros's home was Nate because Nate was a sneaky bastard, making Grey wonder if Nate even had a life of his own.

"What is it Bingham, missed me already?" Nathan's obnoxiously bored voice answered Bingham's 'hello'.

That was what Grey hated about Nate, he always knew everything and he liked to get under people's skin.

"You're a hard one to miss, I was calling to ask about Linton's home address," Grey finally spilled his inquiry.

"You're not out to cause him trouble right? Lucky I didn't slam my fist in your nose for the stunt you pulled on him yesterday" A cold edge laced Nate's voice, very different from his earlier indifferent tone.

"Not out for blood, I promise, I want to apologize" Bingham informed in surrender.

"Alright, I'll take you there" Nate answered causing Grey to widen his eyes slightly in surprise.

"Can't you just text me the address or something?" Grey suggested.

"No" a blatant refusal, Nate handed Grey.

"Whatever, you just want to come along for your own amusement, probably watch me squirm from not being used to saying sorry" Grey scoffed at Nate through the call.

"Oh you know me so well" Nate mused slowly from the other end of the line.

Ending the call, Bingham picked his jacket, then left through the window, he didn't want to come across any of his family members disappointed glares when taking the front door.

Back in Da Vere, the thing that had trailed Shane, took notice of the absence of whom it had actually come looking for.
