"Gavin!" Jace was the first to run to his friend, who remained rooted to the hospital bed.
Gavin turned to see the two familiar faces standing at the door of the ward, flashing them a slightly surprised look before he breathed in relief.
Jace was already in front of his lying form in a second, smiling widely at him as he gripped his hand firmly when Gavin brought it forward.
"It's you," Gavin said, finding a strange sense of comfort now that he had seen someone he knew and was certain he truly hadn't transmigrated.
"Yep." Jace nodded. "Glad to see you're better," He sized his form, his eyes stopping at the bandaged wound.
It was satisfying to know his constant watch and presence had paid off in the end, even though it was horror all through because of that girl his boss had grown a liking for.
"Don't tell me you really told the doctors you were my wife." Gavin raised a brow at Jace, the words Mira said earlier still replaying in his head.
