Lucrezia held a grim expression, careful not to show any sign of nervousness or awkwardness.
She knew this question Mira asked was a tricky one, as if she said she had administered it, it would mean she had gone against the rules of the medical field and to make matters worse, she had even given an overdose.
The overdosage aspect could be considered a mistake but that didn't make it any less bad.
"He didn't overdose," she said calmly.
Mira's brows pulled together and Lucrezia continued before she could interrupt.
"He was in severe pain after the injury. Whoever attended to him initially must have administered tramadol to stabilise him before I got to him." Her tone remained steady, measured and clinical.
"From what I could assess, the dosage wasn't monitored properly afterwards."
Mira leaned back slightly, listening.
The explanation made no sense to her as she tried to rack her brain, replaying the statement.
Lucrezia pressed on, her voice gaining a touch more authority.
