The platter delivery didn't come on day six.
Leo noticed it the moment he came downstairs at six. The sideboard stood empty. No covered dishes waited, no warm scent of roasted meat drifted from the kitchen annex. Just the long table, bare and polished, catching the amber glow of the lanterns.
A single folded card leaned against the counter. Garrett already had it open, back resting against the wood, face showing the flat look of someone reading exactly the news he expected.
"Administration courtesy ends after the first week," Garrett said without looking up. "Dining hall from here on. Student points or coin." He set the card down and slid it toward Leo. "You read the pamphlet yet?"
"Still haven't received one."
Garrett studied him for a second. "Right. I'll walk you through the points system on the way."
