The following morning, I awoke feeling really satisfied.
Truthfully, falling into a deep slumber immediately after making love was one of the greatest pleasures in the world, even more so when the woman in question was as breathtaking as Ravenna. The fact that she had been a virgin before last night only added to the perfection of it all.
I shifted onto my side, stretching across the mattress, but unfortunately, the space beside me was empty. It did not take long to discover her whereabouts, however. My keen ears quickly picked up the soft sound of water rippling nearby.
I turned my gaze toward the adjacent bathing chamber. The wooden door had been left ajar, and warm steam was slowly drifting out into the bedroom. I cast aside the tangled silk sheets and swung my legs over the edge of the bed. Snatching up my discarded tunic from the floor, I pulled it loosely over my head and made my way toward the open door.
Stepping inside, an amused smile quickly found its way to my lips.
