"Emm... we saved. Saving is the reason for all this," Faye said. She was done arranging the bags. She yanked the plastic zipper across th bag, her knuckles tight as she forced a flat, casual shrug. Her heart gave a hard thump against her ribs, her eyes darting away for just a split second.
On the other hand, Minny crawled over to his mama, wanting to be carried. The small boy yanked on Princess's pant leg, his tiny fingers digging into the denim until she noticed him. Princess adjusted Leonny properly before picking Minny up as well. She slid the sleeping baby higher up against her collarbone with one smooth motion, then scooped up the crawling toddler with her free arm, balancing the extra weight on her hip without breaking her stare.
"Saving?" Princess asked. Her voice carried a sharp edge through the open room, her dark eyes narrowing down at the group.
