It was a nice, beautiful Sunday morning. It was exactly the kind of morning when someone like me is supposed to have some quiet time, just staying in bed either sleeping or scrolling on my phone.
I still hadn't been able to retrieve my friends' contacts from my former phone. The thing was still broken and sitting inside the mall waiting to be repaired, but I had managed to track one of them down through social media. Just one. His name is Dave, and he's a pretty famous biker who posts videos of himself doing stunts. I sent him a quick message saying hi, but he hasn't replied to me yet. I figured once he finally does, I can get the rest of the group's numbers and maybe finally ask what happened with Guru.
I was still sprawled out on my bed when the doorbell rang. I heard one of the kids run to go open the door. I dragged myself up and came out of the room, and the very second I heard that voice, I knew exactly who it was.
