I was in the living room watching TV with Kaye. My brother had already been discharged from the hospital. He was sitting at the dining table with Eriko, both discussing something. I did not put my mind on what they were talking about, but I do know it had something to do with bills. He just got discharged and he is already back to this bills shit.
The TV was loud enough to fill the room but not loud enough to drown their voices completely. Every now and then a few words from their conversation slipped through. Numbers. Payments. Something about deadlines.
I didn't want to make them realize that I was listening.
So I stayed where I was, leaning back into the couch, letting my eyes stay glued to the TV like whatever was playing there was the most important thing in the world.
