With a small creak, the wooden door opened, revealing a room of rows of seats surrounding the stage.
Oliver's voice rang across the room.
"Let me introduce you, Unit 091!"
My stomach turned.
Under the spotlight, there he stood, hands behind his back, his head leaning low with obedience.
Oliver bounced as he displayed Adrian in front of the Elites.
Sensing my presence, Adrian lifted his gaze.
His tired, unbothered eyes glanced towards me.
I gulped and opened my mouth to speak, but Oliver beat me to it.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Unit 091 or 'Adrian,' is my greatest specimen yet!"
He purposefully mocked the name Adrian simply to make me furious. I admit, it worked.
Oliver smirked. Shifting his attention to the audience, he continued,
"Project Cure has taken too long to procure a suitable host for the Sins. But thanks to the previously employee Miller, we, the Researchers of Evercare, have finally secured a remedy for The Grey.
The audience clapped, praising him silently for his solution to The Grey.
But Oliver slipped up.
"Unit 091 is a total success, compared to Unit 009. Unit 091 has complete rule over his abilities and can house up to 5 Sins—"
My hands reached for an object. The glass caught the edge of the steel railing, shattering instantly.
Crash. A wine glass hurled towards Oliver's face, it shattered into pieces as it touched the stage.
"Hah! You think that can harm me?"
Squelch. Blood dripped from his cheek.
