Sheyaan and Zavian had already stepped into the room the moment they entered, Sheyaan turned back to look at him.
Zavian followed her Clamly, his hand casually tucked into his pockets. As if nothing bothered him at all.
His deep, mysterious gaze stayed fixed on her, as if he was trying to read every little emotion within her.
Feeling nervous, Sheyaan placed her bag on the study table and adjusted her clothes before slowly turning toward him.
Zavian was now standing near the bed. Avoiding eye contact, she spoke in a slightly trembling voice,
"Uh… whatever you're going to do… just do it quickly! I..I still need to study."
Zavian sensed her uneasiness and simply responded in a low tone,
"Hmm…"
He then walked toward her slowly until he was right in front of her. Gently but firmly, he took both her hands and pulled her closer to himself.
Already nervous, Sheyaan stepped closer without resisting, almost instinctively.
At that moment, both of their heartbeats began to race together, like some strange, unspoken rhythm.
Zavian intertwined his fingers with hers and pulled her even closer, pressing her against his chest.
His sudden and intense action made Sheyaan panic, but she didn't have the courage to pull away.
Zavian rested his head lightly against hers, tightening his hold on her hands.
The entire room fell into a deep, complete silence. Again and again, he kept pulling her closer, as if he wanted to absorb her into himself.
Zavian pulled Sheyaan tightly against his chest leaving almost no space between them their breaths nearly.
Collided there distance completely erased yet despite being so close he felt absolutely nothing.
He was trying to sense the powers hidden within her, trying to stop himself from growing weaker… but it was all useless.
His patience was running out. A wave of frustration rose inside him. Feeling the tension and stiffness in his body, Sheyaan softly asked in a nervous voice,
"wha...what… what happened... to you?"
Zavian didn't answer immediately. He took a deep, heavy breath and then said in his low, raspy voice,
"I can't feel.. anything…"
The disappointment and anger in his tone gave Sheyaan a little courage.
Slowly, she lifted her face until it was right in front of his. In the dim light of the room, her bright, innocent eyes looked straight into his as she said softly,
"Should we try something... else? Maybe… maybe that might... work…"
Hearing her words, the intensity of Zavian's anger eased slightly.
He looked at her innocent face carefully, as if wondering how someone could be this pure.
Zavian looked into Sheyaan's eyes with a serious expression and said softly,
"Hmm… we can try."
The moment he agreed, Sheyaan gently pulled her hands free from his and stepped forward, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck.
She pressed herself against his chest with full intensity. Her sudden move stirred something powerful inside Zavian.
Without wasting a second, he placed both his hands firmly around her waist, holding her close.
At that moment, there was no distance left between them. The silence of the room was filled only with the sound of their breathing. In a soft, almost whispering voice, Sheyaan asked,
"Can you… feel anything.. now?"
Hearing this, Zavian closed his eyes and buried his face into the curve of her neck.
This time… he could feel it. A warmth, a strange energy flowing from her into him, spreading through his veins. In a low, raspy voice, he replied,
"Hmm… a little."
His answer brought a quiet sense of relief to Sheyaan. She tightened her hold around him even more.
Zavian could now truly feel his lost strength returning. He began taking slow, deep breaths.
He lifted one hand and gently brushed her hair aside from her neck, then rested his face there again, as if that was where he found peace.
His closeness made Sheyaan feel uneasy deep inside; her body trembled slightly… but she didn't say anything.
She remained still, pressed against him, as if she had completely surrendered herself to his presence.
Her steps already unsteady began to filter completely she struggled to keep her balance.
Feeling as thought. her own body was slowly giving up on her Seeing this,
Zavian didn't waste a second—he held her even tighter and, in the very next moment, lifted her up by the waist.
Startled by the sudden move, Sheyaan clung to him even more tightly.
She couldn't even understand what was happening to her. Zavian stepped toward the bed and, with careful control, gently laid her down on it.
Her heart was racing wildly, almost as if it would burst out of her chest. In a trembling voice, she asked,
"what… what are you...doing?"
Zavian didn't answer. With an intense, almost overwhelming urgency, he leaned over her again and buried his face in her neck.
His breathing had grown heavy and uneven, like someone desperately quenching a thirst after ages.
"Stay still, Sheyaan… don't move," he ordered in a deep, strained voice.
At that moment, Zavian was in a strange state. He could now fully feel that unique energy flowing out of her.
It rushed through his veins like fire, reviving him, bringing him back to life.
But on the other side, Sheyaan was struggling. His closeness and the heat of his breath were overwhelming her, leaving her weak and completely drained.
Zavian was now completely lost in the obsession of regaining his powers.
At this moment, he had no awareness of the world around him. He tightly grabbed the hand of Sheyaan—the same hand that carried that mysterious tattoo.
The moment his touch met the tattoo, a red glow seemed to surge through it.
As his grip tightened, a similar red light awakened within his own tattoo.
He could clearly feel that energy spreading through his entire being.
Sheyaan lay still on the bed, her breathing slow and faint. Then, gently, Zavian placed his other hand near her neck, as if drawn by something he couldn't explain.
Without fully realizing it, he brushed a soft, brief touch against her neck.
That sudden contact made Sheyaan's whole body shiver. She took a sharp breath and said in a trembling voice,
"wha… what are you.. doing? This… this isn't..right!"
Hearing her uneasy voice, Zavian took a deep breath and replied in a low, strained tone,
"Just stay.. like this, Sheyaan… I need..this. My powers are... returning…"
Seeing his condition and hearing his words, Sheyaan fell completely silent.
She no longer had the strength to argue, and remained there—caught between fear, confusion, and the strange intensity of the moment.
At this moment, Zavian had no awareness of what he was doing.
He was completely consumed by the obsession of his powers. He held onto Sheyaan firmly, his focus fixed only on drawing that energy from her.
On the other hand, Sheyaan was frightened and confused. She didn't understand what she was supposed to do.
His intensity made her breathing uneven, almost as if she couldn't catch her breath. In panic, she gripped his shoulders tightly and shut her eyes.
Zavian stayed extremely close to her, as if he didn't want to let go at all.
His breathing was deep and heavy, and his presence felt overwhelming.
One of his hands remained near her neck, while the other held her hand firmly.
Sheyaan felt increasingly uneasy. Her body trembled slightly, and her heartbeat raced uncontrollably.
For a few moments, Zavian remained like that, absorbed in the strange energy, while Sheyaan stayed silent—helpless and caught in his hold.
The room was enveloped in silence, broken only by the sound of there breathing Sheyaan lay completely still.
Yet her heart pounded wildly within her chest like a raging strom.
After a while, she slowly opened her eyes and gently nudged Zavian, placing a soft hand against him as she said in a quiet voice,
"Okay… that's enough.. now. It's really late… I still have to.. study."
Hearing her nervous yet firm tone, Zavian stopped. He didn't move away, though—instead, he rested his head against her shoulder, staying just like that.
But even now, he hadn't let go of her hand, as if he didn't want to lose that connection.
Zavian closed his eyes, as if he was taking in that moment of calm. Seeing this, Sheyaan grew even more uneasy, her gaze shifting restlessly.
Then, slowly, Zavian opened his eyes, lifted his head, and looked straight into hers.
Her heartbeat was so fast that he could almost hear it within himself. Looking directly into her eyes, he asked in a low, cold voice,
"Why is your heart...beating so fast…?"
Hearing his question, Sheyaan immediately pouted, clearly annoyed, and said,
"Because of you! Do you even...realize what you just did to.. me?!"
Zavian paused for a moment, confused. He frowned slightly and asked,
"Because of me…? What exactly did.. I do?"
Sheyaan narrowed her eyes at him but didn't say anything. That's when it hit him—caught up in his obsession
with his powers, he might have crossed a line. For the first time, his tone softened a little as he said quietly,
"Sorry… I really didn't know.. what I was..doing. I just needed my powers… I didn't want to become.. weaker."
Hearing the word "sorry" from him, a faint smile appeared on Sheyaan's face. She raised an eyebrow playfully and said,
"Wow… so even a cold, ruthless demon like you...can say 'sorry'?"
Zavian just looked at her, but her innocent smile slowly softened something inside him.
And then—
"THUD! THUD! THUD!
Loud knocks echoed from the door. The sound instantly wiped the smile off Sheyaan's face. Startled, she pushed Zavian away and quickly sat up.
Caught off guard, Zavian almost lost his balance at the edge of the bed. Slightly annoyed, he said,
"Sheyaan! Why did you push me.. like that?!"
As soon as he spoke loudly, Sheyaan panicked and quickly covered his mouth, whispering,
"Shh! Someone will hear us… what do we do..now?!"
Zavian stared at her, unimpressed.
"Say something!" she whispered again, a little irritated. "What do we do...now?!"
At Sheyaan's action Zavian looked at her angrily and gestured with his finger as if saying, "At least let go of my.. mouth first, then speak!"
Realizing, Sheyaan quickly pulled her hand away and muttered with a small pout,
"Sorry…"
That softened his irritation a bit. Looking at her, he said in a low tone,
"Go check who's at... the door first."
Her eyes widened instantly.
"What?! Me?! I'm not going! What if it's Fangxi? He'll start asking a... hundred questions!"
Nothing her panic, Zavian responded with a hint of annoyance
"So what, should I..leave? Would that make thing... better?"
The two of them were still arguing in hushed voices.
But suddenly.
Thak… thak… thak!
