Chapter 71 - The Guardian’s Shelter :

Zavian stepped into the house with utmost care Sheyaan resting peacefully in his arms fast sleep.

She clung to him innocently completely unaware of everything around her but unbeknownst of them.

Chan--who had been waiting in the park was quietly following them from behind.

As soon as Zavian stepped inside, he saw Manglong and Lucy sitting on the sofa, drinking coffee.

Their eyes immediately fell on Zavian and the girl in his arms. Ignoring their presence completely, Zavian walked straight toward his room.

Just then, Lucy's sharp voice rang out from behind,

"Stop!"

Hearing her, Zavian froze in his tracks. Lucy got up from the sofa, placed her coffee mug on the table, and quickly walked up to him.

She stood right in front of him; there was anger in her eyes, though she was trying to control it.

"What happened...to her?"

Lucy asked in a low but firm tone.

"And why are you... carrying her like this?"

Zavian looked at Lucy with his deep, unreadable gaze, completely unmoved. Then, in a flat and icy voice, he said,

"Move aside.!"

Hearing his blunt response, Lucy was left stunned. She faltered for a moment, but then tried to compose herself and asked again,

"Answer my... question!"

However, Zavian didn't find it necessary to respond. Without saying a word, he walked past her, leaving her standing there.

Zavian left Lucy behind and headed straight toward Sheyaan's room.

Lucy remained standing there, muttering to herself in anger. Thinking about Sheyaan with hatred, she grumbled:

"This girl has.... trapped him in her web... too!"

Then she looked toward the stairs where Zavian was carrying Sheyaan upstairs. Jealousy was clearly visible on her face.

"Look at him… carrying her so gently… this girl is far too cunning!"

Saying this, she angrily returned to her place.

Meanwhile, Zavian entered Sheyaan's room with her in his arms. He carefully laid her down on the bed and gently covered her with a blanket.

The room was completely silent. Leaning down, Zavian softly brushed the strands of hair away from Sheyaan's face.

He paused for a moment, as if quietly admiring her innocence.

Suddenly—CRASH!

A loud noise came from outside, as if something had fallen heavily.

Zavian instantly turned back, his eyes changing in a split second—sharp and dangerous, like a predator's.

He closed his eyes in anger and exhaled deeply, as if trying to control himself.

The faint noise from outside instantly put Zavianon alert without wasting a second.

He got up from the bed and walked toward the door with firm determined steps.

He opened it and looked outside, but no one was there. As soon as his eyes fell on the floor,

he noticed a beautiful bouquet lying shattered. For a brief moment, Zavian paused, as if he had already sensed the danger.

In a deep, heavy voice, he called out,

"There's no need... to hide… come out!"

Hearing this, Chan slowly stepped out from the nearby room. There was a hint of surprise on his face.

He walked straight up to Zavian and, gathering his courage, looked him in the eye and said:

"The first time...I came here, you... were here. And today, when I came again...., you're here with

Sheyaan... What exactly do you do...here? Care... to explain?"

Hearing this, Zavian glanced around and took a deep breath before replying in a flat, cold tone,

"From your words....it's clear you've been keeping....an eye on me."

A faint smile appeared on Chan's lips.

"That's right! So, are you going to tell me.... what you're doing here… with a girl?"

At that, Zavian gave a faint smirk and said in a deep voice,

"Seems like you've... forgotten the beating...from that day!"

Zavian stepped closer to Chan, adjusted his collar, and looked straight into his eyes with a dangerous smile.

"The way you.. speak… I don't like it.. at all."

Zavian's dangerous and careless behavior shook Chan to his core. Chan's eyes widened in shock,

and he instinctively took a step back in fear. Then, trying to compose himself and gather his courage, he said:

"Stay away! And behave...yourself!"

Zavian slowly stepped back, a faint yet icy smile appearing on his lips. In a cold tone, he said:

"Oh… manners? For someone like you.... manners aren't even in... my nature!"

Hearing this, Chan was taken aback but tried to cover it with attitude as he sneered,

"I've never seen...someone as low as... you!"

"You carry a girl in your arms right in front of her family, bring her alone into her room… who knows what you do with her!"

The moment those filthy words reached Zavian's ears, his anger spiraled out of control.

Although no visible trace of rage appeared on his face, his fist clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white

A strange red glow began to flicker in his eyes.

In a flash, as fast as lightning, Zavian lunged forward, grabbed Chan by the throat, and slammed him against the wall.

Chan froze in shock, barely managing to say, "He...Hey… what are you...doing? Let me...go!"

But Zavian only tightened his grip. His glowing red eyes seemed to pierce right through Chan's very existence. In a deep, terrifying voice, he said:

"How dare you... speak to me with such....disrespect?!"

Chan's breathing started to falter. He struggled desperately to free himself, gasping,

"le...let… go…" but Zavian's grip was like an iron clamp.

Zavian lat out another terrifying roar his voice filledwith fury.

"you humans talk....far to much." Today I'll silence you... forever!"

His glowing eyes flickered the dengoures light and the sheer pressure of his presence. Weighed heavily on Chan.

Filling him with fear. For the first time, he truly felt the presence of death closing in.

Chan had almost gone lifeless; the fear was clearly visible in his eyes as darkness began to take over his vision.

But just then, a painful scream echoed throughout the house—

"Aaaaahhhh! Nooo!"

The moment Zavian heard it, he became alert. He instantly released Chan and stepped back.

Chan fell to the ground, gasping heavily for air—he had just escaped death. In a deep, heavy voice, Zavian said:

"For the first time..., someone has survived my... hands… you're lucky!"

Saying this, Zavian rushed toward Sheyaan's room. He tried to steady his breathing and calm his tone so he wouldn't scare her further.

Meanwhile, outside, Chan scrambled to his feet in fear and stumbled away, fleeing the scene.

As soon as Zavian reached Sheyaan, he saw her struggling in her sleep, murmuring faintly,

"No… no… let me go!"

Sheyaan was trapped in a terrifying nightmare. In her dream, two figures dressed in black, holding swords, looked like executioners from an ancient era.

They were slowly moving closer to her. Their faces were covered with cloth—only their ominous eyes were visible, locked onto her as they chased her.

In Sheyaan's dream, the atmosphere was terrifying. She was standing between small old houses from another era.

There was silence all around, and the street was completely deserted, with only a strong cold wind blowing through the empty road.

The two black-cloaked figures were slowly moving toward her—their intention was clear. They had come to kill her.

Sheyaan stood there helplessly, trembling with fear in front of them.

In the real world, she was twisting in her sleep on the bed, and the only words escaping her lips were,

"Don't kill...me…"

She was drenched in sweat, and her heart was pounding wildly.

Seeing her in that condition, Zavian felt fear rise inside him. In panic, he grabbed her hand and said softly with concern,

"Sheyaan! What...happened? Wake...up!"

But Sheyaan was still trapped inside that horrifying nightmare. In the dream,

the moment those two figures raised their swords to strike her, a piercing scream tore from her throat—

"Noooooooo!" Aaaahh!"

With that scream, Sheyaan suddenly sat upright and burst into tears.

Her eyes remained tightly shut as she cried out repeatedly,

"Please... don't kill... me! Don't kill...me!"

Seeing Sheyaan in such a terrified state, Zavian was completely stunned.

Zavian didn't waste even a second. He quickly got up and sat on the bed,

pulling Sheyaan tightly into his arms. In a panicked voice, he muttered,

"Sheyaan! What...happened...cla...clam..down…!"

He gently began stroking her head, trying to ease her fear. But Sheyaan was still trapped in that terror; crying uncontrollably, she kept repeating,

"Don't kill...me! Please… don't kill.. me!" Aaahh!"

Zavian held her even closer and whispered softly in her ear,

"There's no... one here. Look, I'm right here...with you."

Then he gently pulled her slightly away and looked at her face, saying,

"Open your... eyes, Sheyaan.. Look at... me!"

With tears streaming down, Sheyaan slowly opened her red, teary eyes and saw Zavian in front of her. Seeing her protector,

she clung to him once again, gripping his coat tightly as her body trembled.

Tears streamed down her face as she sobbed.

"I...I..really.. secred!"

Without hesitation Zavian wrapped his arms around her pulling her close in a protected embrace.

His voice softened as he reassured her.

"Don't be afraid. I'm... here. Nothing will happen... to you." okay!"

But deep inside, a strange worry stirred within Zavian. He questioned himself,

"Looks like those... same people have appeared..to her... again…"

His heart was in complete turmoil.
