Chapter 2 - Reject Shop

It has been countless days since the downfall of Lobotomy Corp.

It took me a few days to walk towards the backstreets of District 12 on foot.

I was generally surprised that I felt no signs of fatigue or tiredness.

I noticed that I was walking faster than usual and running faster than usual.

I got a few friends who have driver licenses, and so, I ran faster than a motorbike on full speed, a car, I could probably train this to the point I run fast as light! Even faster than the concept of perception!

I quickly remembered I wasn't even supposed to get people to know about me or my identity.

Thankfully they pocketed me a Neuralyzer, so I quickly flashed the bright light in front of their faces, and probably stole some of their money.

Heh.

Oh, and don't worry they only got 50$ bucks worth in their wallets.

I bought some food. It's usually like 1$ per loaf of bread nowadays, right? Hypothetically if I had 150$ bucks, I'd buy around 8$ worth of bread just enough to feed me today.

It felt like I didn't need any food though. Most likely something they thought of giving me.

After indulging myself in 8 whole loaves of bread, I came across a Reject Shop.

Like, out of nowhere I didn't even see where I was going. There were many things on sale, but most of them were expensive.

They were selling a Glock for 400$ that probably doesn't work, a Can Opener for 200$, and multiple others things that I probably couldn't list down in the same sentence I'm speaking.

Something else caught my attention against the others..

A Thick, Black Leather Bind Book titled 'The Necronomicon'.

I opened the book to see what was inside, and it's a handful of teachings for inhuman abilities.

Most of components of training in the book is mostly around many choices. Such as Swordsmanship, Portals, Endurance, True Immortality, heck if that's possible.

True Invulnerability, TRUE Portal, Immense Grip, Flash Step, Godly Presence? The Necronomicon is being sold up around 50$ due to low demand and sales, because this is the only one.

I asked the cashier why no one has ever bought this. The cashier said that people did buy The Necronomicon, but was resold multiple times due to people dying from the exaggerated training in the book.

Honestly, for a world where it's overrun with factions, E.G.O., and Abnormalities, people sure are weak...

He also said that it was a trend before, known as the 'Ancient Book Training Challenge' on the internet.

Unfortunately, no one has come and completed it.

Like I said, in a world that is overrun with experiments and Fixers, humanity is pretty done for.

The cashier said a few words before I left, "You got the guts to complete it, kid?"

I got the book for free because I was the only person after many years who had the determination and guts to buy it.

That's when I decided that if they gave me these abilities and I'm the only person to walk out alive, I wouldn't take a hard pass to unlock these powers.

I'm gonna see if I could train myself until I die, or not. I felt a dedication within me, and I think it's gonna be worth it.

Wish me luck.
