Morning came without ceremony.
We ate some cold paste in silence, packed what remained, and started walking until we reached our destination.
The tunnel entrance was visible from the inner edge of the city barrier, a dark mouth set into the base of the mountain ahead, framed by the glowing moss and the blue edible moss that had spread across its outer rock.
The same moss. The same cave. The same mountain that held whatever lived beneath that big dark water lake.
There were Corruptors along this section of the barrier wall too, but fewer than we'd seen yesterday. They had probably drifted, redistributed across a wider area overnight, and the stretch directly in front of the cave entrance had thinned enough to look crossable.
Coco was already bracing himself. Preparing himself mentally to be bait again.
"Don't worry." I said. "I came up with a better idea."
He stopped mid breath.
