Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: A Beauty

"The dragon's blood and scales are primarily materials; I need to observe your life form."

"Don't resist."

After saying this, Rias gently waved her hand. Layers of magic circles appeared, surrounding the Great Red.

Simultaneously, Rias also took out various magical device tools.

"Deactivate your Dream Power."

Rias said.

"Understood."

The Great Red canceled her Dream Power, and then Rias began observing her life state.

Although she currently has a human form, her life essence is still that of a dragon.

Not long after, Rias had gathered quite a bit of data.

But it wasn't enough.

Rias thought for a moment and, using her Sixth Sense psychic ability, released countless particles.

The particles entered the Great Red's body but were quickly digested and absorbed.

"Control your body; don't absorb my Power."

Rias patted the Great Red's thigh.

"Ah, oh~"

The Great Red was momentarily stunned, then tried hard to control her body and asked, "Like this?"

Rias frowned slightly and said, "Can you try a bit harder?"

"Can't do it."

The Great Red shrugged and said, "This is already the limit. The Power seeping into my body is too weak; even if I try my best to control it, it's easily digested."

After a brief contemplation, Rias raised her hand. A radiance took shape in her palm.

Soon after, a staff appeared before her. This was a magical device.

In just over ten seconds, Rias had constructed this magical device.

This staff was called the Mental Particle Staff. Its initial function was singular; it was an auxiliary magical device.

It was specifically constructed for the observation particles condensed by Rias's Sixth Sense. Each of those particles had become a solid form, with defensive Formulas deployed internally.

Soon, Rias felt these particles wandering throughout the Great Red's body, then transmitting various data to the Data-processing Magical Device Rias had constructed.

"Sss..."

The Great Red drew a sharp breath and said, "What a weird feeling. It's like my body is all broken down, being freely entered and exited~"

"Stop the nonsense. The current data is still far from enough."

Rias glanced at the Great Red.

After thinking, Rias transformed the staff into the shape of a red hair clip and put it on her head.

"Let's leave it like this for now."

As she spoke, Rias opened the door and asked, "How do you usually live?"

"I'll follow you."

The Great Red smiled and said, "I also want to experience the way life exists within the world."

"Even though you possess the Power of Dream?"

Rias glanced at her.

The Power of Dream naturally includes the Power of dreams.

If she wanted, she could experience any way of life without issue, through the means of dreams.

"Dreams and reality are ultimately different. Moreover, the 'you' in a dream is not the real you."

The Great Red said, "In dreams, one cannot see a peerless gem like you."

"Wouldn't 'a beauty' be a more fitting metaphor?"

Rias said.

"Describing you as 'adorable' is the best way~"

The Great Red shrugged and smiled.

"By the way, since you'll be living with me, you can't use the name 999, or I'll be very troubled."

Rias said.

It wasn't time for exposure yet. Once exposed, it would cause significant trouble, and Rias didn't want to deal with that kind of trouble right now.

"Just call me Dream."

The Great Red said.

"Mm, starting today, you are the Mirror Youkai, Dream."

Rias nodded.

"Why a youkai?"

Dream said somewhat exasperatedly, "I am a dragon, a supreme dragon. To be called a youkai... it's simply an insult to me!"

"The compatibility is high, isn't it~"

Rias laughed.

A mirror represents reflection, shadow, and replication.

It wouldn't be surprising even if Dream used 'Power of Destruction,' but she obviously couldn't be Bael, nor could she be of the Gremory clan.

Naturally, then, only the mirror representing replication made it clearer.

"Forget it, for the sake of the 'beauty,' I'll endure it."

Dream muttered.

A beauty... Listening to the Great Red's description of her dream, Rias murmured inwardly.

What was her 'dream' like?

Rias pondered.

A dream is a hope for the future, a goal one strives to achieve in their heart, such as career and love, among others.

If thinking according to her own philosophy, the greatest dream in her heart was 'Power.'

Thus, what she wanted to do was clear: to become the highest and strongest.

And the mere slogan of 'the highest and strongest' was undoubtedly hollow.

Therefore, she had documented every step.

Starting from a place of weakness, to the current realm of Transcendents, and even the future Dragon God, beyond Dragon God, Powers and authorities, spiritual authority, the realm of Omnipotence, and the realm of the All-encompassing 'Principle.'

As an individual, as a group, as a world.

Countless trains of thought continuously gushed forth like a fountain, then transformed into actual foundations, constructing a tangible mind map.

Each piece of data was a massive branch—various systems, conjectures and understandings of higher realms, deductions—these transformed into an even more colossal 'dragon.'

Countless 'dragons' gathered together, subsequently forming an even vaster world.

In Rias's conception, even this world where gods and demons coexist was only equivalent to a glass marble.

The supreme goal, progressing with down-to-earth steps. Each step had been arranged, each step undergoing experimentation.

It was precisely the great dragon constituted from this that could attract a pure-blooded dragon species like the Great Red.

Merely looking at her dream itself was an ultimate enjoyment.

If she could watch her overcome obstacles step by step, reach deeper and farther places step by step, and witness the process of her realizing her dream, that would be even more something to be sought after.

It was like watching an adorable little girl slowly grow into a peerless beauty.

Witnessing each step of growth was a pleasure.

Thinking this way, it wasn't hard to understand why the Great Red, who governs dreams, wanted to 'watch' over her.

Moreover, a few years' time held no meaning for her in itself.

"By the way, aren't you continuing your previous experiments?"

Dream asked curiously.

"Pausing them for now."

Rias said, "They lack a certain key element. This element is the core supporting force. It's precisely because this is missing that my experiments fail."

"I need to find this element to have confidence in success."

Rias was sharp; just one experiment made her understand what her goal was lacking.

Before that, she would first create her private library, having Shinku Nilba Ren help her organize those chaotic systems.
