Lina shifted slightly, breaking their eye contact. Her instincts warned her that this man was dangerous, and she had no intention of testing whether they were correct.
"His Lordship, Karl de Golan, Count of Brysgaard, requests an audience with Her Majesty!"
The next person was the blond boy who had sat beside the Grand Duke of Baden during the coronation. Lina estimated that he was only fourteen or fifteen, with a youthful face that still retained much of its innocence.
Unlike his older brothers, who dressed extravagantly and adorned themselves with expensive jewelry, Karl wore relatively simple clothing. He seemed nervous about the occasion, clutching the hem of his coat with one hand as he approached the throne. When he bowed to Lina, he accidentally stepped in the wrong direction and nearly stumbled, prompting quiet laughter from the guests standing nearby.
