"Praise be to God! Long live the Queen! Amen!"
The final words rang through the cathedral, followed by another round of cheers.
Lina stood in place for a moment, wondering whether the ceremony had really ended.
That's it?
She had to admit that she felt somewhat disappointed. This was supposed to be the coronation of the ruler of an empire, an event that would determine the fate of countless people, yet the entire procedure had seemed surprisingly simple. There had been some singing, a few solemn declarations, a little oil smeared on her skin, and a crown so heavy that she had nearly fallen backward. Compared with all the grand ceremonies she had imagined, the experience was almost anticlimactic. It had been less impressive than her high school's annual sports meet.
