Chapter 41 - The Pearl of the Orient

Where seven thousand islands rise out of the blue,

In a garden of coral and a shimmering hue.

The sun greets the mountains of Luzon first light,

Waking the emerald terraces, a majestic sight.

The Jeepneys are painted in colors so bold,

Carrying stories that never grow old.

Through the streets of Manila where history stays,

In the walls of Intramuros and Spanish-style ways.

The Chocolate Hills stand in a rhythmic row,

While the tarsiers watch where the quiet ferns grow.

In Palawan's caves, where the limestone is steep,

The secrets of oceans are buried so deep.

From the white sands of Boracay, soft as a cloud,

To the festivals vibrant, energetic and loud.

With the rhythm of drums and a feast on the leaf,

A life full of passion and a joy past belief.

The scent of the Mango, the sweetest on earth,

A land that has known both its struggle and worth.

With a song in their hearts and a smile on their face,

The Filipinos welcome the whole human race.
